I appreciate that you let the song play through to the end without stopping it and trying to analyze after 5 secs, or 30 secs, etc. w/out hearing all the intricacies. When you stop it, you break the continuity and passion, messaging, and just the quality of it in finality that is affecting your body, mind, and soul.
Now you must react to "Somebody to Love" but definitely the LIVE performance from Montreal 1981. Just one of the best live performances you'll ever witness!!
Its so nice to see when someone actually listens to the music from start to finish. Check out the movie Bohemian Rhapsody Starring Art Malik as Freddy Mercury and the story behind Queen.
There is some speculation that the lead singer (Freddie Mercury) essentially wrote this as a secret "coming out" song and it delves into his emotions at this time. For example, when he says, "Mama, [I] just killed a man" he's talking about telling his mother about his sexual identity in a male/female world and that by accepting this fact he "kills" his manhood. Likewise, "sometimes I wish I'd never been born at all" also refers to his emotional reaction at being rejected for who he is. He then asks the world to essentially accept him [i.e. "Easy come, easy go. Will you let me go?" with the response by his peers being, "No. We will not let you go."] In other words, they will not accept him for who he is. It's then that he tries to break away from them ["Just gotta' get out, just gotta' get right out of here."] But, even so, he cannot escape who he is and he reluctantly accepts his destiny.
Bohemian Rhapsody is the apex of rock opera. This song is a musical roller coaster. An amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. After Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics. He even works with NASA periodically.
Queen has over 200 songs in their catalog and nearly every one of them is a banger. Queen also has a lot of different styles of songs because every member of the band is a songwriter and each have different tastes in music so you will get everything from Vaudeville, to folk, to ballads, to gospel. to funk, to heavy metal, to speed metal, to soft and lovely and everything in between. You do know Queen songs, you just don't know that the songs are done by Queen, some of the songs have been around for 50 years and the band was together for 20 years until Freddie's passing from AIDS in 1991. After quite a few years of not performing together but having strong solo careers, Roger (drums) and Brian (guitar) began touring again as Queen + Paul Rogers (Bad Company and Free) for a couple tours and then by chance came across Adam Lambert 12 years ago on American Idol and they started touring as Queen + Adam Lambert and will be touring UK and Europe again in a few months, finishing off a tour that was interrupted by the pandemic. John (bass) retired from music after Freddie's passing. Queen has so much great music, you will be going down a deep rabbit hole hearing it. Thank you for an excellent reaction to this iconic song.
@@DazzleMonroe Queen really didn't "Play" much during those 6 years other than to record Brian's tribute song to Freddie, the tribute concert and one other performance that included Elton John. However, John did remain very involved in the business end of Queen for those 6 years, though his performing as a musician had nearly stopped with just a few little here and there moments before he announced that he just could no longer do it, he was done and he then retired. Either way, I love and miss John Deacon and wish him the very best in all of his life endeavors. He is still being compensated financially for everything Queen officially does (including any profits they make on their current tour) as he is and always will be 1/4 of the band whether or not he chooses to perform or participate.
@@sherryheim5504 Exactly. He didn't retire when Freddie passed. He was still very much involved with Queen, right up to their final official album in '95.
@@kecenavrtep while Freddie and the others in the band refused to reveal what any of their songs were about, many speculate the meanings. Yes, the CR has Bohemia but in the UK and USA there was a minor artistic movement called Bohemianism as well. It was mostly of the French boheme and more avant-garde/hippie or nonconformist than establishment. Rhapsody is the only thing Freddie actually commented on: he actually began writing this as 4 different songs and couldn't come up with the remaining bits to make them all 4 songs worth making, so he decided to call it a rhapsody & cleverly placed the songs together and literally changed the sound of music from then on. Originally, it was to be called "the cowboy song," but that would have been terrible. A rhapsody is nothing more than "a collection of songs." This was released on their 4th studio album, called A Night at the Opera because the preceding album was called A Day at the Races. True to form, this was an operatic (which Freddie absolutely loved, and one of the albums he made without Queen, was with Montserrat Caballe, regarded as the best soprano operatic singer of the 20th century. Both of them were huge fans of the other and both were so nervous to meet each other because of how amazing they both were in their genres. The collaboration of Monserrat and Freddie changed music again, pairing two of the greatest singers in history and sparking a bond between them that even until 2018 when Monserrat died, she referred to Freddie as her great friend and the best person she ever met).
It is a masterpiece yes, but as a Queen & Freddie superfan, I think it's only Queen's 3rd or 4th best song. Personally I think Innuendo is FAR better than BR as a song, in style, and lyrically. Innuendo was dismissed at the time because many considered it the angry ramblings of a gay man dying of AIDS**, but I see it completely differently. I see it as two angry, frustrated people traversing the 5 stages of death & dying. It was credited to Queen, but Roger and Freddie wrote it. One of the most profound lyrics in the beginning to me was "our lives are dictated by tradition, superstition, and false religion through the eons, and on and on." Then at the end "If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky, If there's a point if there's a reason to live or die, If there's an answer to the questions we feel bound to ask... Show yourself - destroy our fears - release your mask!" The very day I heard Innuendo & saw the video, I had to take some time to process what I'd heard. It was life-changing. **at the time, everybody knew Freddie was dying of AIDS but nobody actually confirmed it.

Who Wants to Live Forever live in Budapest is simply beautiful too. And Queen at Live Aid is rightly considered one of the best live performances of all time, cramming 6 hit songs into just 20 minutes!

300 million album sales, kind of tells you enough to know they changed how some music has developed since then. This track was released mid 1970s and on 3 different occasions topped the UK singles charts. The influence Queen had had is phenomenal. I guarantee you have heard tracks and know tracks they did that are used the world over. Have you ever heard "we are the champions" or "we will rock you" and so many more. Queen is a British rock group formed in 1970 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist Brian May - Lead guitar and vocalist John Deacon - Bass guitar Queen was one of the most influential groups of both the 20th century. All four members of Queen were not only talented musicians but each one composed music and each of the 4 members wrote songs that became hit. Queen's music continues to influence the artist even today. For example, Lady Gaga acquired her name from the Queen song, Radio Gaga and Vanilla Ice stole the bass riff from the Queen/David Bowie hit "Under Pressure" for his song "Ice, Ice Baby" (there was litigation and Vanilla Ice settled with Queen and David Bowie). Not only did they produce 15 studio albums but they produced many hit singles which I am sure you have heard but were not aware that they were Queen songs. For example, "We Will Rock You", "Another One Bites The Dust", and "We Are The Champions". Queen also traveled the world performing at some of the largest concerts (In Rio, they performed live in front of 250,,000). Their live 20-minute performance at the rock concert "Live Aid" in 1985 is considered the greatest live performance ever. (Live Aid was a worldwide concert of 64+ musical acts designed to raise money to fight the 2-year famine in Ethiopia They performed at Wembley Stadium in front of 72,000 in the audience and nearly 1..9 Billion by Satellite).
I always say how have people not listened to Queen… but then i guess i could say that about me with Drake Kanye Beyoncé Rihanna Eminem Snoop Dog Led Zeppelin.
I have some suggestions like I've told other people, Freddy doing ( time wait for no one) it's a solo thing, and Love of my life do the live version,, either at Wembley or Montreal, Freddy with Spanish opera singer Monseratt Caballe doing Barcelona, and How can I go on. you'll love them all I promise

Welcome to the Queen's world! You can find a huge catalog of their amazing, versatile songs and stunning live performances. You can choose any of them you never won't be disappointed. Let me introduce you the Queen: Freddie Mercury the lead singer and pianist, Brian May the guitarist, John Deacon the bassist and Roger Taylor the drummer, they all were highly graduated. Queen is the most versatile rock band, they wrote their own stuff in several genres from rock to jazz, to pop, etc. about 200 songs. Freddie never took singing lessons, but his powerful and emotional performances are still legendary. Freddie Mercury composed this masterpiece from 3 earlier written and unfinished songs.
This song regained popularity due to it being featured in Wayne's World (1992) Some young folks who never heard the song before thought it was called Bohemian Rap City.
Love this song. Loved it in the song in Wayne’s World! Have you ever react to the Japanese band name Scandal? I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs. Also check out Band-maid, Lovebites and Babymetal too!
You have never heard of Queen before. They were one the greatest bands of all time, Freddie Mercury the lead singer when he performed on stage, he owned the whole stage. He didn't just stand their and sang. Their songs, he used the whole stage. Their songs have been used in films. This song alone was in a famous car scene in Waynes World. if you ever watch the first Highlander film. Pretty much every song in the film is their's. Sadly Freddie died about 20 years ago and Adam Lambert has taken over the vocals on the group. Only 2 of the original 4 perform with him. Freddie actually wrote most of their songs.
Something different for you, Marsha - and yet the same. "Wow, what a version of Bohemian Rhapsody". That was the quote from Queen, on hearing 13-year old Angelina Jordan's stripped down version of their song, on America's Got Talent, the Champions in 2020. I reckon you should also react to that, and see the difference for yourself: ruclips.net/video/qF0JV28vgLw/видео.html
Recorded in 1975 this video is one of the first of its type, Queen were touring and would be unable to appear on the BBC program Top of the Pops, so they made this to take their place ( the BBC had to play it many weeks. Their catalogue is extensive and there will be many songs you've heard before, you just didn't know it was a Queen song. Just to ease you in gently, watch Live Aid 1985, it's 21 mins but you will see the versatility of Queen, the brilliance of Freddie Mercury and above all, what is widely considered the greatest ever concert performance.
Yes. More live queen. Live from the rainbow 1974 or live at Wembley 1986. Young and older. You will see them grow and diversify. They all write which is what makes it so.
Any video with over a billion views has to be doing something right. Freddie Mercury, the lead singer, wrote this song. He was actually working on three different songs and had the genius inspiration to combine them into this epic masterpiece. Nothing like it before or since.
you should try… Somebody To Love, Love Of My Life, You’re My Best Friend, We Will Really Rock You, We Are The Champions, Fat Bottomed Girls, Liar, Seaside Rendezvous, Good Old-Fashioned Loverboy, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Another One Bites The Dust, The Millionaire Waltz, Seven Seas of Rhye, I Want To Break Free, These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Hammer To Fall, Keep Yourself Alive, Radio Ga Ga, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Death On Two Legs, I’m In Love With My Car, ‘39, Sweet Lady, The Prophet’s song, Good Company, One Vision, Lap Of The Gods, It’s Late, Spread Your Wings, Don’t Try Suicide, Now I’m Here, Tie Your Mother Down, Killer Queen.
You have opened the flood gates! I’ve never heard a Queen song I didn’t enjoy. Some are better than others but no “bad” songs. Recommendations: Somebody to Love (Montreal Live 1982) Live Aid set Bohemian Rhapsody (Montreal Live 1982) White Queen (Odeon)- INSANE piano skills by Freddie. Innuendo, I’m going Slightly Mad, The Show Must Go On, these are the days of our lives, and Motherlove ( Freddie is dying in these songs… leaves out the last verse in Motherlove because he couldn’t finish it, then died before he got back into the studio). Check out the videos as well.. they become abstract in the videos to protect Freddie while he was dying from AIDS. It’s pretty heartbreaking and you can pretty much view his slow decline from healthy rockstar to aids patient, withering away and dying in agonizing pain. It is emotional to watch his health decline and damn devastating when you listen to motherlove.. to hear how he’s struggling to get the words out of his mouth, the strain and his fight to keep doing what he was meant to do… then hearing Brian May singing the final verse knowing it’s Brian singing because Freddie had just died. It’s a lot to process.
I’m so glad you got to hear this masterpiece. Please keep in mind that there were no beats or samples or even computers when this was written and recorded. Every single note is an original creation of the mind of the artists and played by hand for every performance. I’ll bet you’d enjoy Dreams I’ll Never See by Molley Hatchet.
The epitome of 70's Glam Rock. 😁 Think about how this song and the video blew our minds in 1975 if you're that impressed with this with the more advanced technology we have now. 😂
Queens 70s song catalogue is magnificent but I also love their 80s music! I'm not a huge fan of 80s music, being more of a 60s and 70s Poprock guy but Lord, Queen is is one of a kind band and they're one of the finest Poprock groups of all time.
Sadly this was made just a few years before Kurt Colbain's death inspired teen suicides. I loved this song but us mom's didn't understand that kids were listening to the lyrics, not the energy of the song. I was lucky but my son lost a friend.
•••• I’m watching you watch a video. Sounds ridiculous, but hey, the human race likes to know what the rest of the human race feels about stuff, so, to see you in a reaction channel start to discover music from 50 years ago… It’s actually cool, so now do Prince, Purple Rain… which is only 30-40 years old… which is one of the great live performances that will blow you away even today.
So you should really take a look at Pentatonix’s take on this classic, but just so you know, they use nothing but voices and sounds made with the body in their performances, i think you will love all of their work, but that would be a great transition to them
This is a musical masterpiece ! Freddie Mercury might be the greatest male vocalist ever !!

i grow up with this music, i am from 1964, is this real music ore what :)
Queen is a British rock group formed in 1970 consisting of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist
Brian May - Lead guitar and vocalist
John Deacon - Bass guitar
Queen was one of the most influential groups of both the 20th century.
Duh.
I LoWe Queen fanstic song ☮️🌹🇮🇹👍🏻

Freddie was a God. 💕
Now: "Somebody to Love" LIVE Montreal 1981
I loved that you listened to it all, before you reacted. Most spoil it. x
Try queen live aid concert at Wembley 200thousand audience lasts 20 minutes, possibly the best live performance ever, Dave from the UK.
Next up, "Somebody to Love" the LIVE performance from Montreal 1981.
Somebody to love at Milton Keynes is best live performance.
No, far from it. The live version from Rock Montreal 1981 is definitely better.
@@LarsPallesen it definitely isn't, the way he sings it, the impro. Shows he was enjoying himself, unlike Montreal which he hated. It comes out in the song.
Doesn’t Brian May also have a PhD in Astro physics and has worked for NASA?
This song regained popularity due to it being featured in Wayne's World (1992) Some young folks who never heard the song before thought it was called Bohemian Rap City.
When real music existed. No autotune.
Freddie didn't write most of their songs at all. r Freddie wrote just over 70 songs and Brian wrote about 65. Roger wrote around 13 and John about 20.
There's another version of this by a Kiwi artist (Shirley Serban) - Do you dare to try?
Bohemian Catsody
Not Queen but an excellent video is the bassist of The Who. Atlanta 2000 is the one to watch. You will not be disappointed
Please, react to Diana Navarro, "El perdón" the official video.
She's got an amazing voice.
Thanks
you should try…
Somebody To Love, Love Of My Life, You’re My Best Friend, We Will Really Rock You, We Are The Champions, Fat Bottomed Girls, Liar, Seaside Rendezvous, Good Old-Fashioned Loverboy, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Another One Bites The Dust, The Millionaire Waltz, Seven Seas of Rhye, I Want To Break Free, These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Hammer To Fall, Keep Yourself Alive, Radio Ga Ga, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Death On Two Legs, I’m In Love With My Car, ‘39, Sweet Lady, The Prophet’s song, Good Company, One Vision, Lap Of The Gods, It’s Late, Spread Your Wings, Don’t Try Suicide, Now I’m Here, Tie Your Mother Down, Killer Queen.
First time hearing this ! You been away for 50 years or just been revived from past ?
Pure 70's, pure Queen, no sytnhs, no autotune, all pure talent. Thanks for your reaction to one of the bests bands ever!
The mastertape of this went transparent due to the constant rewinding and placing on of even more overdubs.
Recommend Fat Bottom Girls and Bicycle race. This band’s members are all genius’s. BUT YOU must watch their performance at Live Aid.
Lizzo and others.....listen to this and cry. In a thousand years, Queen will be still there. Nobody will remember Lizzo or Sam Smith
You have opened the flood gates! I’ve never heard a Queen song I didn’t enjoy. Some are better than others but no “bad” songs. Recommendations:
Somebody to Love (Montreal Live 1982)
Live Aid set
Bohemian Rhapsody (Montreal Live 1982)
White Queen (Odeon)- INSANE piano skills by Freddie.
Think about how this song and the video blew our minds in 1975 if you're that impressed with this with the more advanced technology we have now. 😂
Listen to the song Fat Bottom Girls by Queen.
Can you please react to Robert Palmer song called Know by now
Please
1973
Hey! Here’s a secret: You go down the rabbit hole with them and your subs will go up.
I was lucky but my son lost a friend.
look up "the show must go on" freddy was dieing of aids...took a shot of vodka and did it in one take.
Queen live Montreal 1981 “Somebody to Love”,. “We Will Rock You”, “We Are The Champions”, “Fat Bottom Grils”
You really should check out Pentatonix's cover of this song. They are a Capella so no musical instruments but they do a great cover.
😂 ❤️
Khia / My Neck My Back
So you should really take a look at Pentatonix’s take on this classic, but just so you know, they use nothing but voices and sounds made with the body in their performances, i think you will love all of their work, but that would be a great transition to them
