The cover GOAT back at it again! Well done sir, well done! 👏👏👏 Benighted is such a special track for me, it literally got me into playing guitar, so it makes me appreciate this cover very much
I once dated a guy who knew how to play this (despite his faults he was a PHENOMENAL acoustic player) and he would serenade me with this. Those times are long gone but I have fond memories of that specifically.
I rarely make coments on youtube vids, but this cover is so perfect i have to praise it, bro nailed the song and mastered the tone, got so perfect it sounds like the original, well done mate!!!
yo dude this is THE BEST benighted cover I've ever seen. Also, I have a request, can you cover Opeth's windowpane just like this ? I'll be glad to hear from you.
As a life long Opeth fan, I'm so glad I found your channel.I love your work so masterfully executed! Do you learn all their songs by ear? Super impressive! Please do tutorials for fellow guitarists like us. There are not much tutorials of Opeth out there, I'd definitely watch it all. Cheers man you are awesome!!
Fantastic cover as ever! This is one I've been able to play for a while with a pretty accurate sounding tab I found online years ago, there are some interesting differences here. Some of the fingering is quite different in places and your version looks and sounds more like Mikael's style. I've been learning piano over the past few months which has taken up most of my free time, but your videos always inspire me... I'll have to pick up my guitar and have another go with reference to your cover.
Thanks as always! I tried to be as accurate to the original as I could hear, but I certainly don't proclaim to be perfect in that regard. Still, if there's any questions about any parts I'd be happy to help.
Your accuracy is incredible. These covers are literally note for note. Can you share your process? Do you transcribe from hearing, use official tab books, both?
There aren't any official tab books, though even if there were I'd doubt their accuracy. I learn based on a combination of what I hear from the studio performances and what I see in live performances, though many times they've changed how they play things live so usually I just trust my ear.
Amazing cover! May i ask how do you achieve that tone on the solo? I'm struggling with tone for a long time, but i can't find anyone that explains it well. Also general tone tips will be appreciated.
Thanks! It's difficult to give tips there since tone is subjective and it's hard to advise you without knowing your setup and exactly what you're aiming to achieve, but I can say that it really comes from a combination of many things put together. On that sound there's the DI running through a J48 DI box into my audio interface, running through the clean amp from Archtype Nolly, into an IR from GGD. The amp and IR will have probably the biggest impact on the tone. But also there's EQ and compression in Archtype Nolly, there's EQ and compression on my clean guitar bus, more EQ and compression/limiting/saturation on my master bus. Then there's the guitar, fresh strings, pickup position (using the middle position there on my PRS). And of course none of all of that matters if your playing isn't good. All these things put together add up.
boy is gonna make the whole Still Life cover

Sorry, where can I find the Tabs?
Thanks! I learned it by ear so I can't help with the tabs, but I'm sure you can find some fairly accurate ones online.
