I am a 13 out of 14 children. My mom had 500+ polyps at the age of 52 in 1982. Her colon was removed and was given one year to live. Remarkably, she is alive today at the age of 87. However, my siblings and I have the two rare FAP APC and MUTYH cancer genes. Eight siblings have died thus far. Two brothers refuse to get tested with the youngest stating that he will die not wanting to know. I also have hundreds of polyps in my lower stomach and colon. There were so many that only five large ones were cut out for biopsy. Apparently, these were not specialists conducting the procedure as I was told they would be. They, in turn, forwarded the findings to ‘the specialist’ and now I am being re-scheduled with him to conduct another [his own] colonoscopy.
I have FAP and had my TAC at Mt Sinai in 1990 , Im an oncology nurse now and still have to have bi yearly pouchoscopy and EGDs because of my adenoma burden but im still going thanks to the amazing team at Sinai !!!

How are you doing now? What was your age when you found out you had so many polyps with the biopsy done?
