Could you please show us how to make yum teen gai(chicken feet salad) too please?? I'd love to learn to make because i miss having it in bangkok and as of now with all the corona going on i cant travel over :/
@@sharescene-stories9332 yes po na try ko na cia masarap..kahit walang hipon kc mahal..giniling lang solb na! Pag medyo umasim sa kalamansi i balance mo ng konting sugar.
My dad used to take me to Thailand every year when I was a child, I miss Thailand so much :’( I’m not a salad person but I used to eat salads everyday! My favorite was yum woon sen! I go to Thai restaurants often but it just doesn’t taste the same. Thank you so much for the amazing recipes I’ve been learning so much great recipes from you!
On behalf of Thai, thank you for your sweet words. But please don't expect much from us. Thailand is just a small and humble country, and like every country in the world, we have both good and bad things. We also have both good and bad persons too. However please consider this land as your second home where you can visit anytime you'd like (well at least after this COVID gone :)) You are always welcome.
I've had Thai hundreds of times, but never this dish. I ordered to-go food from a new Thai restaurant tonight and tried yum woo sen because of how they described the spicy, sweet lime dressing. Tried it, loved it, watched this video while eating it to understand the flavors and how it was made. Perfect combo!
I made this and it was very tasty. I have not had this dish elsewhere (if it's on Thai restaurant menus around here, I've just never ordered it). Thanks! Also, I was going to skip the noodle soaking step but found out it helps the noodles not be sticky so I did it. I've just boiled glass noodles directly in the past, so I've picked up a good tip for any glass noodle dish.
Pailin, I just made this salad and it is SO GOOD! Easy to make as you give wonderful instructions. You are a beautiful person inside and out. I love your positive attitude! I enjoy your videos. I subscribed today! Thank you!
One of the first dishes I ate when I first went to Thailand (lived there for 3 years). A definite favorite and YES, something I make now after returning to the States when I'm in the mood for Thai food. Thanks for the updated video.
One of my favorite Thai recipes, my mum also adds lots of fruits like apple, cherry tomatoes and pineapple. Your dressing looks tasty and not too sweet (I hate when the sauce is too sweet and heavy).
I LOVE this salad!! I have made so many times and it’s the best salad I’ve ever had in my life, when it is done RIGHT!! I ordered it at a local Thai restaurant and they no longer make it authentic and it was awful! So, I’ll have to make it myself!
This was a great inspiration. I changed things around for what I had on hand and it was great. The dressing is really well balanced. I just mashed up a couple of the shrimp as I didn't have any dried. No pork either so I went heavy on the shrimp and tomatoes. Anyway, this is a keeper and I'll definitely collect everything and make it closer to spec when I get a chance
I literally ate this yesterday in Ao Nang, only then with seafood. Great salad to eat, cant wait to make it at home with my newly bought mortar & pestle 😍
So convenient I already have the recipes on hand will make this, this week! I been following you for years since I first learn to cook and moved in with my bf. One of my favorite cooking channel💞
Probably not traditional but I tried a variation at a Thai restaurant where they claim to add a signature secret ingredient, figured out it was spicy toasted rice powder and oh my gawd... the flavors the spicy toasted rice powder added was amazing I might even be as bold as to say that I like it more than the original.
Hi Pailin, thank you for the recipe! What I like from your videos is that your cooking seems to be really simple, quick and easy, unlike me who always make a mess when I cook :D The glass noodles salad is one of my must-eat dishes when I'm in Bangkok. Thanks again and I look forwards to your next videos!
I just fell in love with ur cooking and ur character! I've been living in Thailand for over a decade and I'm really surprised and impressed by your English! You're just like a native and no any of Thai accent! Subscribe to learn more about Thai Cooking from you! Thank you soooooo much for this lovely Yum Woon Sen recipe! I'm gonna cook it right now! :D
After a week of poor cooking, I had time to make a dish and I was craving shrimp so badly. This was so yummy and it says so much about your guidance that I didn't mess it up 😂 loved it. Thanks!!
New subbie here 😊😊. I love this food! I lived in Thailand for 5 years and this is one of my favourite thai foods. Now that I live in Europe, I always order Yum Wun Sen everytime I eat at an Asian restaurant. Thanks for this recipe! I wanna make it now but I realized I have no fish sauce 😂, need to buy first.
I made this a couple years ago and it was amazing! Tried to order it every time I go to a Thai restaurant, but it just doing taste the same. I’m going to make this again tomorrow!
thanks for your share. I really miss Thai food because it impossible to find a real Thai flavor even in a Thai restaurant in Irvine U.S.. So I'm starting to learn some cook skill.
Yummie Woon Sen! It can't get any better than this! Maybe I'd crush the roasted peanuts before sprinkling them, only a little though. And maybe add a couple of hand ripped horapa leafs (Thai sweet basil) as I am totally addicted to this herb. But man... what a wonderful and inspiring recipe! Thanks!
wow. tasted great. i wanted to bloom the garlic, chilies, in oil and then soften the onion and celery by cooking saute as well. And I knew from the dish, "Ants climbing a tree" that you can braise glass noodles in stock and reduce it. So I ended up cooking most things on here. It came out looking like garbage leftovers but tasted incredible good. mmmmmm....thank you
This will be my dinner today. Love the salad but never made it myself. I don't think they add dried shrimp in Thai restaurants around here but I have them now 😁
Pailin dear can you make pho soup please i know it's not thai but if you can please make it , love you so so much once i feel so stressed and upset i came here your face and you voice and your cooking relax me i really love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
hi pailin's kitchen thank you to your recipe i really recommend this recipe very easy and tasty i make this because just last week it really tasty and i also uploaded to my channel thank you so much
Pai - what brand is the silicon/rubber spatula you use when cooking the pork? I'd love to get one similar that doesn't just melt when I use it sautee...
Hi Adam here - and I think you're going to have to ask her that one directly as she doesn't see the comments on here once the post is more than a week old (as per her note above). You can check out options to get hold of her here hot-thai-kitchen.com/contact . Cheers!
You can most definitely use any protein of choice. Try to use leaner protein because the fat will solidify in the salad. Sometimes I use shredded chicken breast.
Are there any substitutes for the celery? My problem is i cant tolerate celery at all (i just pick out the taste straight away and it overpowers everything) so i had to take them out even at restaurant orders.
When i was in switzerland ...and i ordered in thai restajrant this salad bcoz it became my favorite but i cant believed they put 12 chili in it that i almost crting hahaha...and the chef thai i called i said ..sis...i love this so much but its too spicy amd rhey told me they thought i was thai...hahah But i love their food so much ..wherrver i go i love thai food
You said don't toss it until you're ready to eat it. For a potluck, can I keep all ingredients in the fridge until I'm ready? Is it OK to eat it cold? Or will it taste different?

The best salad I ever had !!! Can’t wait to make it!! I had it at a wonderful Thai restaurant where I live and it changed my life 😂😂
Great salad! I tried it as a cold salad, and refrigerated all the elements after prep and then combined them just before serving. Delicious!

When I make mine, I usually brown my ground pork really well to add crunch and a meaty flavor.
Yummie Woon Sen! It can't get any better than this! Maybe I'd crush the roasted peanuts before sprinkling them, only a little though. sounds so yummy....glass noodle salad

Does it have do have prawns in it? I really want to try this dish but I cannot eat them.
can it be replace with other noodles rather than glass noodles? can you suggest.
this is one of my favourite dishes my mum puts sea food and minced pork in it :D its so good and tastes delicious!!!
she also puts this weird ham type thing in it as well idk what it is called but it is amazing!!!
Omg I love yum woon sen so muchhh
Can you tell me more things that can be used for yum Woon sen dressing ?
Mix of fruits is also good.
Pai - what brand is the silicon/rubber spatula you use when cooking the pork? I'd love to get one similar that doesn't just melt when I use it sautee...
Pai can you please show how yum kha gai is made? ^^
hi, can you make a video for Nam prik ong please :) thank you
I would love to know where did you buy your skimmer
love it!!
hi pailin, is there any different between Chinese glass noodles and Thailand ones?
Would you put garlic oil & crispy-fried golden garlic on/in this?
Not usually, but you certainly can!
As we don't eat pork can you use beef mince instead ?
Hi Adam here - and I think you're going to have to ask her that one directly as she doesn't see the comments on here once the post is more than a week old (as per her note above). You can check out options to get hold of her here hot-thai-kitchen.com/contact . Cheers!

Can I make this salad with octopus instead of shrimps?
Are you happy cookbook
We prepare similar but we not use mins meat. So.. Its yam woon Sen gai or goong?
Are there any substitutes for the celery? My problem is i cant tolerate celery at all (i just pick out the taste straight away and it overpowers everything) so i had to take them out even at restaurant orders.
The dressing sounds delicious. How long would it stay fresh for?
I wouldn't make it far in advance, but 1-2 days is probably okay
Pailin's Kitchen thanks for the advice
Hi :) can you have tutorial on thai instant noodles salad? I love it whenever I go Thailand!
I love your channel Pailin. Where could I find those glass ramekins with the pour lip?
Screaming yummmyyyyy now
I use ramen noddles(oriental flavoring), ground pork, cucumbers, cilantro, onions, red-cabbage, peanuts, shrimp, lime juice, sambal-oelek, minced-garlic, scallions, and salsa.
My mom making this right now for our guests and Tom yum soup.
When i was in switzerland ...and i ordered in thai restajrant this salad bcoz it became my favorite but i cant believed they put 12 chili in it that i almost crting hahaha...and the chef thai i called i said ..sis...i love this so much but its too spicy amd rhey told me they thought i was thai...hahah
