Negan: Talks to kid about airplanes. Me: "Aw, how wholesome is this? 'Uncle' Negan teaching a young kid about the world before." Negan: Immediately goes on about nut tapping. Me: "Jesus Christ, Negan."
One thing I live about what Angela Kang has done, she's added so many real world elements into the past 2 seasons to really make this universe feel more alive and real. Snow storms, a falling satellite, cancer, and other things. Just little details that make the TWD world feel like it could exist in our world.
Brandon’s death was great, I saw it not only him pissing Negan off, but he was also a demonstration to Negan about how his past actions impacted somebody so greatly. Brandon was raised by his Savior parents who idolized Negan, which made Brandon cling on to all the real and made up stories about the worst things Negan had done, shaping him. Brandon was so delusional that he genuinely thought that Negan was testing him to see if he was strong enough, because that IS something Negan could’ve done in the past. Negan killed Brandon in revenge for killing that innocent woman and her son, but also partially in disgust of the fact that his old self had a part in creating somebody so awful. By killing Brandon, his biggest fanboy who campaigned for the return of “classic Negan”, he was also killing his old, villainous self and trying to put his past behind him. He wants to be more than just his tarnished legacy. Love that.
That ending scene is one of the best closing scenes in the show's history. At least as a Negan fan it was. Getting to see the old Negan come out for a bit, and then seeing Beta stare him in the eyes and of all things to say he says "All right you big ass freak, lets do this!" As Brandon said that was CLASSIC NEGAN
He was never gonna actually kill Carl. He knew Rick would give in before the swing made contact. It was just a giant bluff but Shiva interfered before Rick could give in.
"If nut tappin were a sport, you wouldn't have to roid up and you'd still be in the hall of fame!" XDDDD Ok but how can you not love Negan after seeing that scene??
“I would never kill a kid” .... I mean.... he was about half a second away from bashing Carl’s head in in the season 7 finale. But I guess it shows the growth of Negans character
I think at that point Negan was impressed by the "kids" "man-sized" balls and considered Carl old enough to face the consequences of repeatedly killing his men...
Շђє ᗠэνɨɭ That was less about Carl and more about Negan’s little battle of egos with Rick, remember, Rick had just given him permission to kill Carl first. All either of them cared about in that moment was breaking each other. Just alpha male, chest thumping bullshit. Neither of them were thinking clearly, both doing and saying things that, had they been in a more rational frame of mind, they would have been disgusted by.
When we met Negan, I could have never considered him becoming what he is now. Of course, I've said the same thing about Carol and Daryl too. The character development from S1, till now is indescribable on this show.
A lot of people gave Magna a lot of shit after this episode but honestly I can see things from her perspective. They talked about how in previous episodes how they did similar things in their previous communities, one of them called Coalport they mention often. She would hide supplies, and abandon posts and when things fell she was able to get her family out and keep them alive. I'm not saying it was the morally right thing to do or that she shouldn't be punished for it, but I can understand why from her perspective it was the choice she made. People like Daryl and Michonne and the others aren't her true family yet. Yumiko, Luke, Connie and Kelly are. And from the beginning it was clear she has trust issues with everyone. IDK if I'm only defending her cause I've met Nadia Hilker, the actress, 3 times before and she's literally the sweetest person ever lol but I get where the character is coming from.
Yep, 100% understandable. Also agree why Daryl doesn't trust her 100% either. I do think that he understands why too and probably hasnt written her off completely.
@@Carrietbean Yeah Daryl is a great judge of character. I think he sees things from her perspective when he first got to Alexandria and gets why she did what she did, as bad as it may be he gets it.
yeah, but the other ones in her crew wb ready and willing. NO ONE wants to leave but her apparently. and it's all bc she got all up in her feelings, not bc the community isn't inclusive of outsiders.
The old Negan justified killing Carl because it would have saved other ppl in his mind. The new Negan would never justify killing a kid and that’s why he said he would never kill a kid.
@@patrickgogan3517 yeah, it is on everyone mind on what those episode are going to be about. My understanding is that we are getting those why they start filming season 11. Which means it could be extra footage, back stories, etc. Per Kang. We can only hope they find a cure.
@@patrickgogan3517 Some movies and tv shows are already back to filming if they can film in certain states. It will probably depend on what the state of Georgia allows, as well as AMC.
I like how you two are just:" Don't want to talk about it, just want to get into the episode, now!" Totally understandable with a show like this. Nice to see you enjoy this show so much. :-)
Negan stole the show! loved how he hated Brandon and then smashed his face when that prick killed the mom and kid! his talk with the kid was so wholesome he really loves kids :) then going to the Whisperers like the Big Bad Wolf that was awesome :D
Love the storyline of the season, honestly. They work with several different characters at the same time but still get to give them decent plots, at this point i like every single character on the show
Great episode, Brandon drove most of us crazy, and when he killed the little boy and his mom, we knew Negan was gonna snap, Negan was trying to tell him, most of what Brandon said about him was a lie, Negan respected Carl, also Negan doesn't want to be reminded of his past, he wants to move forward and redeem himself, poor Ezekiel, just horrible he has cancer :( and I understand why Aaron wants to help Gamma, but him trying to have a conversation with her everyone was like dude what are you doing?
Negan was the way he was in the past to keep people like Brandon in line because he knew the world went to shit and people needed order. He ruled with fear and never showed weakness. I like to think that’s why he killed Glenn and Abraham. Places like Alexandria have decent people, but it lets people like Brandon walk around and don’t keep them in check. At the sanctuary Brandon would’ve been totally different or dead very early on.
I love you guys so much! I normally wake up and watch you on Tuesday but I had to be at work at 545 this morning so I had to wait till my lunch break to watch. I forgot my headphones at home so I bought a new pair just so I could enjoy you in stereo! This episode was good!. Negan is growing on me and redeeming himself In so many ways! Have a safe trip to VEGAS! Not far from Surprise Arizona! Just saying!!!Haha Congratulations and cant wait till Friday!🥰❤🙏🥰❤
Did I understand you correctly? Did Steve survive thyroid cancer? This episode was a moment where I could definitely buy that Negan worked with kids before the turn. Remember how we met Aaron? He was trying to convince Rick’s group that he was trying to help them and trying to bring them to Alexandria. His approach to Gamma felt like a throwback to that. Fuck Brandon - that’s all.
Steve, Lacey I gotta ask now at this point in the show what do u guys think about Negan with his recent arc in the show, do u guys still not like him, or are u guys starting to accept him as a someone who’s trying to redeem himself. Hey duoreacts, for the past few weeks I noticed that Steve’s ps4 has been on but he hasn’t been playing anything. I haven’t seen him go offline in a while. Did you accidentally leave it on?

negan was trying to kill his former self/life/identity/past when he killed stupid young fan dude. doesn't like what he used to be, so he seeks to erase his past by erasing dude.
Brandon isn’t even a character, he’s just a fanboy from our world teleported into the walking dead universe.🤣
Brandon sucks.... Well... Sucked. Lol.
Brandon is a carrot no questions asked
Remember the actor who played Brandon is the dumb guy from happy death day . . Nick I think
Looked like a psycho Leonard from Big bang theory lol

I agree. Also watching Steve's eyes get big at the last scene is the best
I binge watched season 6 and 7 . . Due to that, I started to feel for negan when he opened up to Gabriel in s8 premiere

Flashback to Shiva saving Carl from being Lucilled

When Negan kept slamming that walker’s head in the door and Steve was moving his head in time with it 😂
Amazing reaction to an awesome episode. Also, thankyou for not cutting the Daryl and Connie scenes! A lot of reactors overlook some of their scenes :)
Negan: Farts.
Brandon: Fangirl screams.
LMAO reading that and imagining it was actually eugene writing it made me cackle

I don't think it hurts to say every so often just how good an actor Jeffery Dean Morgan is.
