Beale was already set up as someone who could read a persons eyes very well from early in the season when he asked Rick a question and said he doesn't need him to answer, he'll just look in his eyes.
Beale saw in Rick's eyes that he was set to kill.

Rick got more lives than cat... It's the little things right...Rick's hand trembling at the anticipation of getting home and seeing Judith again and meeting RJ for the first time.

I absolutely loved this finale, some say it felt rushed but I disagree, it’s not like Rick & Michonne took out the entire base with a pistol & sword 🗡️ they used a hundred grenades rigged to a chemical explosive 🧨
I loved Beales speech & the tension kept building & when the music kicks in at the end you know Ricks about to clean house.
The ending with Rick & Michonne going home & reuniting with Judith & RJ was my only wish the this show, I loved every second of it… also this ending isn’t a confirmation of No season 2, Andrew & Danai have been doing interviews of possibly returning if the story is right. This episode is a prime example of why I love Rick Grimes, he IS TWD. To me this season was a masterpiece.

This is one of the best reactions to the Grimes family reunion I’ve seen!!❤ i’m so happy Rick got to go back home and be reunited with RJ and Judith. Both Rick and Michonne have both deserved and earned their happily ever after. This series for me was perfection❤
10/10 - these 6 episodes were the BEST arc of the TWDU, and I've rewatched the main show at least 4 times.
Of course, I would love to see more of TOWL, but I think it would be difficult to do that without it just being the flagship of TWD again, and I think the bar was set so high with this mini-series, that that level of writing, storytelling, and production quality will be difficult to maintain. So if the Grimes' story ends here, I am ok with that.
However, if it can be done with the same quality, there is some great storytelling still to be done. Thorne said, "Okafor was right, you just have to hope Beale was wrong" and the reality is, the threats of famine, disease, and large masses of walkers are real, so with the Civic Republic now working with communities, it would be nice to the rebuilding of the rest of the world, and solutions to these problems that do not include mass murder.
He survived it by using the walkers as a shield..he pulled the pin and then pulled the walkers against him and got as low as possible
Grimes versus Locke... The TV cross over fight we didn't know we needed.
At the end, the helicopters after everyone found out what their military did of the CRM they changed everything and they were delivering supplies to other communities
Now we need a Rick's reunion with Daryl.

I didn't think they would be able to wrap it up in one episode, but they did. Was a little rushed, but still a very satisfying ending.
9:30-9:40 The Rick Narration was referring to the story he revealed to Okafor in Episode 1 and later in this episode to Beale about the burning crops. "He" in this context was Rick's father.
29:30-29:36 "How did he survive that?"
A person can throw him/herself on a grenade before it explodes to reduce the destructive force passed to people nearby. By getting a grenade "a couple walker bodies away, the force in theory could destroy a number of them, meanwhile Rick brought 2 walkers into a tight pack very close to him to absorb most of the damage the grenade would have done to him. Although I'd imagine his ears are reminded of that time in the tank before he met Glenn.
I find it interesting no one seems to bring up that when Judith hears Michonne on the walkie, Judith and RJ go meet them when they arrive, and it's just them. Nobody else. Who is watching these kids? surely someone is looking after them, and would need to be told "My mom's coming back" and so they would want to see this return. I suppose they didn't have anyone else appear, so we can't predict based on who we see here, who might turn up elsewhere (other shows).
When the helicopters were going out with the packages, the narration was about how the CR Council took direct oversight of the CRM, lifted the restrictions on newcomers, lifted the restrictions on leaving and would actively seek people, help people and even airlift supplies and people. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a supply/support mission to Portland.
You know how some shows have reunion specials? That’s the best part of the show. They get to find out all the stuff that went down during the season, find out the truth, find out who wronged them who had their back etc. That is what I need. Not a reunion special but enough episodes that show all the meetups, show how they react to finding out whose died, who saved who’s life, who fell in love etc. Hope that makes sense 😊

I have been following y'all as you watch TWD for a very long time!! I have enjoyed every single one of your reactions but this is my all time favorite of them all!!! And that is saying so much. I cried the same tears as you two and felt so much relief and joy seeing Rick and Michonne finally home with their kids. It's crazy that a tv show can cause so much real emotion but to me TWD is just different that way and I am so glad to see y'all feel the same

I believe Scott mentioned wanting to do a crossover sequel, with "everyone". And no, I cannot live with this being the end of Rick. I am okay if this is the end of the ones who live, not if we never see Rick again. I believe we will either be getting something with Rick in the future in Daryl Dixon, OR like Scott said... a freaking cool ass crossover sequel, kinda like a new era of the walking dead... doesnt have to be super long, but would be nice to have them ALL reunited one last time fighting for somethig. The CRM could still be used as a way of "reconstructing" the world

The Walking Dead + This Series is a good way to tie up The Walking Dead and Ricks story since the show started with him. I heard somehow they will be merging everything to be connected somehow. This finale scene I think should of been the final scene in “The Walking Dead”

Getting Rick, Michonne and their children back together is how TWD should of ended. The other spin offs just seem pointless and I’m not interested in them. I found episode 1 of Daryl Dixon boring and never went back.

I think, at least for the show, Beale was Ricks worst villain because he was able to keep someone like him for so long, obviously not just him, but he was the one who runs everybody and everything clearly. If Michonne never found him, would he have actually built up the strength or courage to do what they did? I think A LOT of ppl misunderstand what the point of this show was really. It was never supposed to be about the CRM or their arc. It was ab the two characters and "love story", and honestly I think there could still be more with the CRC or CRM whatever in a totally different way than everyone would expect. A lot of ppl also think this was rushed, and I do see it a little bit. But at the same time theres still room for more. Ive watched the reunion like 9 times now and it hits the same everytime. They did so fucking good with this whole show.

Loved the episode. Loved the show. Just hoped it wasnt 6 episodes, more like 8-10 eps 😭 Wanted to see more of the villain that Beale was. Since the CRM spanned 3 different shows, would have thought they would be a lingering threat until all the shows’ characters combined to stop them. I am happy overall with them ending it here - couldn't handle another Rick cliffhanger! The only thing i didn't like was that Major General Beale wasn't given enough time to be a notable threat.

Great series and another great episode. Y’all had me 😭 again 😂. Lacey Rick and Michonne wasn’t at his apartment when they was doing the hanky panky. They was somewhere else far away. Also Rick went in through the front door and Michonne went through the back door bcuz after all she was dead 😂. I was very happy with Everything. Beale and Thorne is dead and Rick and Michonne made it back home. The Rick and RJ meeting was how it was supposed to be, awkward bcuz they’re Father and son yes but they don’t know each other and some folks expected a Rick/Carl like meeting which would have been totally unrealistic. He and Judith ran and hugged the life outta their Mama bcuz they know her, they couldn’t do that with Dad and I wish people would understand that. Any way I enjoyed the reunion and the meeting, are you the brave man, yes I am but you can call me Dad, bring on S2 so I can watch this relationship develop. Great reaction guys, I hate to see this series come to an end 😢, I have enjoyed y’all reactions so much and look forward to more ❤️

I enjoyed this series, just feel everything was a little rushed i did get emotional with the reunion with the kids but wished there was more time with the kids, wish Rick said more to both Judith and RJ...also need a 3 hour movie with all the characters and cross over of all the shows, explain everything and where everyone has been and all reuniting with Rick and Michonne. I want to see how he reacts to Negan being on our side and being free.

I just found your channel and subscribe. I am a true The Walking Dead fan. I still watch the old episodes. I have to say I love your reaction to Mr. and Mrs. Grimes and I really feel that there is going to be more. Rick has to still meet up with the people that he loves as well as. Michonne meeting up with everyone as well and I believe that’s why they showed the faces of Maggie , Ezekiel, Negan, Daryl etc. Plus Gimple said never say never. Norman Reedus his show is very very good. Lauren and JDM Dead City is pretty good as well. The Book of Carol is coming soon and she’s not baking cookies🤣 she’s bringing weapons and she’s looking for her best friend when she sees someone riding his motorcycle

I went from really loving this show in the first half to quickly just seing the show as it’s just okay. I was disappointed honestly . It was good but not great . So much throughout this show felt so rushed and things didn’t make since what so ever . Hated this version of rick throughout most this show. We got back and forth broken rick to lovey dovey rick as I wanted a full badass season 5 rick murdering people to try hard to escape with way more on screen action throughout the series . I get rick and michonne have missed eachother after not seing eachother for so dam long but my god there were too many times they kept kissing on eachother in random scenes especially that episode when there outside near that machine that made blow up as they were close by the crm as I was hoping they wouldn’t get busted loving on eachother so much constantly . Should have just did all that stuff in the episode with both them two going into that place after them jumping out that chopper . And knowing who and what the crm is there’s no way in hell it would be that easy for two people to be able to destroy the main forces of crm sections for them to make it home free without knowing someone might come after them , as that was too easy and rushed all in one episode just for a reunion. The crm is way too powerful for that to have happened the way it did . And there was soooo much potential with major general beale that got wasted . Dude has this much power over a communtiy like this and dies easily as we barely saw much of him this whole series . And he wasn’t used feel feared or threatened by at all or a good villian. He just only had the crm higher ranks go do all his shit for him out there with destroying other communities and etc . Wanted to see this guy kill other people inside his community for not coloring orders or something or killing random people outside there community to make people respect him more . This show made general beale look like a typical bad guy that didn’t feel like a threat or didn’t seem to be feared by as he has so much power at his level and evil within him that wasn’t shown . And walking dead has always done bad with not giving us enough of a character they just introduced to not bring them back . And wtf happened to that spanish guy esteban that we met that was talking with rick on the bench that also helped him get a code to go outside the walls of the crm underground from earlier episodes? They didn’t even do much with that character as I thought they would use him again towards the end to help rick and michonne escape and then he gets himself killed by general beale or something as punishment. Missed opportunities for this show for sure . Didn’t make sense rick and michonne survived a massive explosion after just running a hard right in front of that tent that zombiefied major general beale was coming out of that explosion fast in front of them …. your telling me a flag saved rick and michonne that they were hiding underneath after that explosion?? Come on man. And how did rick survive that se second explosion up close with a few walkers blocking in front of him as that explosion was right on rick ?? And even seing rick and michonne taking off there masks with still being exposed to that green gas didnt effect them whatsoever. We saw natt and michonne in that one episode had there faces covered good and that gas still fucked them up wich ended up keeping them ill for months upon months. And most of all I was very pissed off that rick lost his hand especially the way he lost it that didn’t ever happen like that in the comics. That’s the dumbest thing ricks done as it was the dumbest not smart seemed plan ahead to have him immediately get caught after cutting it off . Like anyone would be glad to say think of themselves as a badass in the zombie apocalypse not to ever have gotten big or there limbs cut off by anyone but you cut your hand off on purpose over a dumb escape attempt over desperation ?? Nawh man they made rick look way too pathetic/ hopeless . The man not only cut his hand off to escape but it bothered me even more that he decided to give up escaping after failing his last one that cost his hand just to decide to stay with the crm after . So it made it look like rick definitely made him cutting his hand off was for nothing when that ls a big move to make and is some series shit when you lost a limb as it is. Even when rick later on saw he could escape he didn’t leave as it only took Michonne to try so hard for him to snap out of it to then wanna leave . Rick should have never lost his hand as how things turned out near the end of this show cutting his hand was pointless and unnecessary after finding a way better way to leave . Rick even left his badass prosthetic hand at the crm wich was stupid . The crm may have trained rick how to fight but man you can only do so much with one hand being skilled vs someone skilled that had two hands . And rick in this finale was struggling to pull himself up that container with only having one hand as those zombies were trying to get to him from below. Michonne saved rick both physically and mentally in this show. But yeah this show obviously felt way too rushed overall and things I didn’t like how they did it or to what characters they did to themselves in the writing . Dam I missed when rick and michonne were single . They were at there top best at being a badass without getting too emotional or somewhat broken . Never saw them as a couple as more so brother and sister . That kid actor playing rj is terrible I hate to say .

I was very underwhelmed with this show. For me, Negan and Maggie had the best spinoff, which surprised me. Loved the moment at the end with the family together again, but overall it was just eh for me.
Imo, Maggie is the most boring character lol. Negan was pretty annoying and talked about his and everyones genitalia way too much. Needless to say I could not get through Dead City. I do find Hershel interesting though. I'm not going to compare shows but I did enjoy the ones who live. It definitely renergized my zest for the walking dead universe

A great reaction to a great show, but Andrew Lincoln wanted to wrap his story up, filming this show has been taking him away from real family . Watch Dead City a the Daryl Dixon show! You will be happy.

That will certainly be on the list if we are ready for the commitment of a long-term show. Right now we are focusing on catching up on the shows that we haven't finished and getting ready for the returning shows in June. Then we will be splitting the time between movies and probably some short series. But if things continue to go well, we may add a long show like SoA again.

I love the walking dead, and I was really looking forward to this reunion, but ngl RJ ruined it for me 💀the acting was just terrible. Some may argue "oh but he's just a kid", so was Chandler Riggs and his acting was great. I know RJ hadn't met Rick before either so that's why he wasn't emotional or anything, but c'mon... "are you the brave man?... Because I believed..." really? Idk it just felt forced and the acting wasn't there. Other than that though, loved the reunion with Judith, and Michonne of course. As always I enjoy y'alls reactions!

I’m hoping at the end of Daryl Dixon we will get that and yes you guys should check out Dead City with Negan and Maggie and Daryl Dixon they are both really good shows, but definitely not as good as The Ones Who Live!
