Hi there I just bought this exact cabinet for $100 last week do you happen to know what year it is from?? I'm so excited to find your video on this!!!! Thanks for the awesome information!!!
Hi thanks for all your vids they are very helpful for someone like me starting out ........i'm building my incubator atm so can i ask what is the size of the vent holes and do the bottom vents have a "baffle" or are they straight thru like the top.....thanks
Never seen any with baffles. And the hole size will depend on the size of your incubator. I believe my 1202 has 3/4 to 1 inch holes, but it's a big machine.
I am cheap lol. i would like to make a better one with forced air but finding the stuff here is hard and amazon dont deliver here in Switzerland I dont know why....
I like your video's. Thank you. However, a comment on the eggs and time before incubating.... Grandparents used to raise chickens and they would collect the eggs and put them in a room that was 55 degrees F, +/- one degree, and they could collect eggs for weeks and weeks until they got 1000 or so, and then put them in the incubators all at once. They would ALL hatch within a day of each other regardless if they were laid 6 weeks prior or the day before being incubated. ---- Have you thought about the ambient temp of eggs to keep them in a dormant state so they keep longer? --- Just a thought and comment. Old shop tchr of 40+ yrs.
Urban Aviary Thanks for the quick reply! Also about how much space would I need for about 100-125 chicks? I know as they get old enough to get out of the brooder but until then do they still need 4 per square foot or can I go a little more dense when they’re small?
Keep your eggs between 8 to 12 °C. The temperature should be stable. Then you can keep your eggs for at least 3 weeks without too much loss in fertility.

Great post I want a new incubator. Mine is a bulb in a Styrofoam box. It works but not great.
There's something cool about a homebuilt unit though, especially when it's on the cheap.

Great videos
How do I increase the temperature on one of those encubator
how do I build such an incubator please need the specs.or how much does it cost buying one.thank you
I've never built one. This one is from GQF, it's about $800. You might find one for cheaper used on Craigslist.
A guy on you tube suggests using 32% protein floating catfish food from tractor supply and grinding it up for his quail. Your thoughts on this please.
That'll give you the protein but not the other things they need in their diet.
hello can you tell me where can i by the trys to stack for more eggs?
Gqfmfg.com
been hatching for years found storing eggs for 7 days at 50-55 degrees gives a better hatch rate.
Good to know, thanks!
Does your 1202 stop auto rotation after 18 days?
Did I understand correctly that I can keep eggs for 10 days at room temp and still have good hatch rates? I thought they had to stay pretty cold
That's right. And keeping them cold will reduce viability. That's the last thing I'd do to hatching eggs.

How long do you leave the chicks in the incubator after they hatch
Up to 48 hours
Fuck. I got to this video early. what do I say? um.. I like quail to.
nailed it
Dr. Swiffel swaffel

Failed it.
What is the level that say safety thermostat set at 102.f for
I believe that if it goes above 102 it shuts itself off, but I could be wrong
thanks

Almost 92% hatch rate, fantastic!
i know right
Hi Mickey Romeo i'm just starting out could i ask you what vent settings (how much opened) you used for that 160 egg batch.....that was fantastic!

Hey jeran. have you ever built an incubator before?
Not yet, but I have plans to do so this spring. I'll definitely be doing a video on it. Probably will be using a cooler.
Urban Aviary alright cool
Do you sell eggs ?
Keep your eggs between 8 to 12 °C. The temperature should be stable. Then you can keep your eggs for at least 3 weeks without too much loss in fertility.
Too bad there isn't a glass front to see if they're dry.
I believe the newer models do, mine is like 15 years old
I like incubator i wish i incubating chick
