Man, that is one handsome knife. One of those would be a perfect partner for my ported chainsaws at work - big enough for anything not worth the hassle of suiting up and starting the saw for, but small enough not to get in the way like my machete’s have a tendency of doing. Beautiful handle too 👍🏻
Shawn how do i contact you to get a knife? Whats the proccess?. I have been following you for years and i am willing to give my first born for a chance to buy you a knife
Thanks for video. I admire your passion for modern super steels. What would be your steel of choice for a scandi grind to zero? I am searching for steel with very good edge stability at low angle. I love acute scandi grind to zero with 18 to 20 degrees inclusive edge angle without microbevel. I need steel that is suitable for sharpening on water stones with Al2O3 abrazives. (Little bit of corrosion resistance would be nice) I want to reach out to some knife maker in my country. But most knife makers don't make knives as hard as yours. What steel do you recomend for this purpouse? I am thinking about Vanadis 4E (usually around 63HRC) or AEB-L ( usually around 62HRC) or Sleipner ( usually around 62HRC) or maybe Cruible Magnacut (63HRC?) Bohler Uddeholm steels are preferred because they are easily available here in Europe. What is your opinion?
Awesome. Looks like a great all purpose outdoor knife. I use my Spyderco Serratta for similar cutting with anything woody and mini-machete with it as well. This looks better. Can we get a Spyderco version of this, please?
Did you make this blade ? Excellent edge geometry and sharpness with the magnacut 👍🏻👍🏻, some people may not realize how difficult that paper towel cut is.
Yes that’s a nice knife. No sharp corners on the handle to cause blisters in the skin during hard use prolonged use in the field and it’s a top quality steel. It’s a nice size with what may be a sabre grind (not sure) with a custom heat treat I assume. I could make a gorgeous leather sheath for that. Keep up the good work Shaun…
@Big Brown Bear how can an average hardworking brother get one of your Cpm 15 knives? When they came out they sold out before payday. I’d love to support ya, and purchase one, but it seems like you have to be almost in the “IN” crowd to get one, lol. Let me know if there is any way I can buy one. Great job with all your vids, I’ve been watching them for years.
@@kabes1776You can do whatever you like, but if you're asking for my advice, I'm telling you you should do it with a compound on leather, specifically gunny juice
For kitchen knives I strop on shapton kuromaku 2k and gives a nice bite eveytime. Anything higher I can't feel the bite with my fingertips. I'm not into edc or hunting knives so I can't comment for them.

That is what I call a knife! looks like a perfect general purpose camp blade!
That is one hell of a great knife, I'd love one of those,, tapered tang looks fantastic...

Damn, that's one all around knife and the edge is insane

Beautiful piece as always
Thanks man, I really appreciate it
I really really need that in my life for my shtf knifo……that really puts my k390 “enuff 2” to shame 😂😂😂
Talk spyderco into doing delica with magnacut will ya..
Super vitrified restock when?
What's the geometry of blade?

Woot woot
Tiny knife
Details!
rhc/hrc????
That papertowel test, was it after the whacking and without any stropping or sharpening ?
Anyway, very impressive !
Of course
@@FearNoSteel Now that is what I call edge stability
Will these be available for pre order? How can I get ahold of you for more details?
Shawn isn't the traditional "finance my Bestech order" RUclipsr.
He's a true knifemaker.
Jumping Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!! That is bad ass.
Very nice! Production soon?
No production. All handmade work
It sure did cruise through those branches!!
Good work on your backyard jungle. Looks like that Magnacut is a big help!
Combination pocket machete *and* straight razor! :)
This guy never fails to disappoint
That's pretty damn sweet Shawn! MagnaCut... and that handle!!! 👏
Dang! That thing is a beast, I really like the blade profile.
Now _that's_ a sabre grind!
Bad ass.
Is that a „yes“ for MagnaCut? 😃
BBB - Mic Drop! What a Blade Sir!,
This is knife ! 미쳤따리ㅋ😊
Little different than usual it looks like!!
Hell yeah
That tree never stood a chance 🪓
Gorgeous blade! Care to share the HRC?
62.4rc on this specific blade, some blades I've run harder but they have a different purpose. I've gone as high as 65.0rc
@@FearNoSteel For camp duty 62.4 and for kitchen duty? Would you do 65 for kitchen knife?
The hero we wanted ! 🔪🇺🇸
LFG hell yeah 🔥👊🏼
Woof! Nice piece Shawn!
Very nice outdoor knife
Sweet blade Shawn 👌
Looks awesome mate ❤

Try eBay
Maybe there are other production knives in the making in 15V ? (Para 3, Native, Yojimbo ?)
Your work is always amazing
🤘 crazy good 👍
Seems thicker than your style, and more than what's required for such a tough steel. Maybe flat grind it down to its real potential.
Negative, This knife is designed to do what you see. If we want a slicer we will make a different knife with different geometry and heat treatment.
@@FearNoSteel It's indestructible no doubt. Some part of me wanted to see that branch cleaved in half on the first strike.
It's not an axe nor is it indestructible, It is a 6-in multi-role knife.
It is a goal of mine to get a knife such as this from you BBB
Hey BBB, I like the bite on one of my edges, but after some use i lost some of the bite, how do i restore it?
Try Gunny Juice loaded on leather
@@FearNoSteel can I just strop light passes without compound?

Like a laserbeam
Don't you just love a juicy geometry?
So no need for a machete.
Not quite. I think a machete is more specialized. This model is trying to be a "do all model"
@@FearNoSteel It definitely looks like a do all. Just missing the bricks lol.
HRC?
62.4rc
Honda Racing Corporation? :]
First time I have seen magnacut impress me in the slightest, Nice job. And the tapering on that tang on that thing is gorgeous.
🤜🔪🤛
