I got this for my 2021 Rally last year. It's a great upgrade if you ride two up. My passenger seat on the max mount would hit the rear fender and grind it against the rear tire. You're absolutely right about backing off the spring preload if it's a rally, wish I did. That thing was a bear to install because I didn't back off the spring but I'm very happy with the end result. No more smashing the fender into the rear tire two up. Nice educational video. Thumbs up.
I installed that on my 900, and took it right back off because the swing arm was hitting the muffler outlet pipe. Muffler is a Silber Turbo adjustable. Gave the spacer away.
