Interview with Carolyn Weber, author of the memoir Surprised by Oxford, now a movie in theaters

Have you ever had your beliefs or even the course of your life get shaken up when you least expected it? I know I have and I’d venture to say my next guest could say the same because her memoir has been turned into a movie and she’s here to talk about it with us today.

- Can you start by telling us a bit about the journey of having your memoir Surprised by Oxford adapted for film?
- Books played a large role in your journey - through childhood, education and faith. Can you talk a little bit about how that intersection of faith and literature defined you, especially as a woman?
- This seems like a perfect film for parents to watch with their older teens and young adults. How do you hope this might be a conduit to deeper conversations about growing in maturity and faith?
- My friend Annie Downs makes a cameo in the movie and she told me to make sure to ask you about YOUR scenes in the movie. Why were those particularly meaningful?
It made me want to read. It made me want to revisit my dreams and find a more purposeful path to pursue them. This film was as through-provoking as it was beautiful.
