In regards to setting the temperature on the sx10 or a s7. Would u factor in windchill? I have to preform monthly surveys at some monitoring areas, one area some of the shots are in the 0.6 mile range. I work in Canada so in the winter there is also a windchill factor :(. For an example , last week it was -20°F (-36°F). The gun would be in the high wind area but the prisms would be in the low wind area. Would I just split the difference (-28°F)? This area I am referring to is monitoring slope stability on an open pit and data is put into an excel sheet complete with trending graphs. I don't know about the engineers but myself I would like to see the graphs trending in towards the open pit not back and forth.
Good question, honestly I have never given that any thought because it doesn't get that cold down here!!! I would think it would be the ambient temperature not the wind chill. Keep in mind the reason you are recording the temperature and pressure is to calculate the speed of your EDM. We are talking about light and pressure and how that affects the speed at which you get a return and the distance is calculated. Down here we have the opposite problem in the summer with humidity, we use the actual temperature not the heat index. I wish I could give you a positive answer but I just can't be sure unless I tested it there and it's just too damn cold for this southern boy!!! Ha!
I was never able to on Trimble equipment, probably for good reason. The logic is that you can burn your eye pretty bad looking at a prism/Backsight. You can do it with Leica, but it was a makeshift way to target the Backsight in superlow light environment where auto aquisition to center didn't work well (One of the dumbest thing in retrospec) Basically when the laser would hit the side of the prism, I would it shut off to not burn my retina & center it with the glowing node reflection....
Wouldn't recommended the sx10 we've had two go down on us. Sent them to trimble and found out the high resolution camera's went bad. Apparently they aren't designed for 360 scans outdoors because the sun will fry them. That was trimble's explanation anyhow, just wish we knew that prior to buying the sx10.
When the zyour zooming around after you scan.. Is that on the data collector? Or is it on the emulator on the computer.. Its so fast! Thanks for the video and overview.
Hello, Do you have a video with a more recent SX10 total station please? I'd love to see what a typical building height survey looks like? we are getting them for work and I need to learn about it. Thank you!
@@SurveyingWithRobert Thanks man! I used your video today to go out and scan a small house I was doing. Got back and... Don't even know how to get the data out of the TSC7. LOL
Surveying With Robert...with the repetition shor for my Controls I did three sets for each point..and I adjusted them in the office..There is an option in S6 (repetition shot) that you can do that..I dont know if Im clear..
I looked and the MS60 does 30k and the SX12 does 26,600k per second. So it comes down to which software you like better. This is an older video with older software. I really need to update the video. The tools we surveyors have now is amazing.
Excellent vision sir, thankyou I am excited to use such instrument in upcoming employment
I’ve been binging this weekend on your channel, good stuff.
I’d be disappointed though if I had to work in feet.
Lol 😂
that's cool sir. thanks for the overview and quick tutorial.
Tendo Akamori you are welcome. More to come!
Great video definitely learned a lot.
Appreciate this robert, thanks
Fantastic video! Thanks!
good job , thanks for sharing
VERY NICE LOVE IT

Hi Robert, does this station have a visible laser pointer?
Robert, great video!
One question, is it possible to turn on a laser pointer in DR mode?
I was never able to on Trimble equipment, probably for good reason.

Just bought one .. should be alright, hardly any sun in the UK 😂
so I have done hundreds of dome scans here in the south without any issues.

Paul Ceglia everything you see is on the collector as I am doing it in the field. I record it right on the TSC7.
@@SurveyingWithRobert thanks for the reply... Thats a powerful piece of hardware.

Nahiko The Shiba been thinking about doing another one.
Surveying With Robert please do, it would be very useful for many others I’m sure.
What happened to extracting and processing the scan data? Been waiting over a year for the be right back part...
Dude, sorry got sidetracked....! I am planning a new SX10 video I promise to include that!!!
@@SurveyingWithRobert Thanks man! I used your video today to go out and scan a small house I was doing. Got back and... Don't even know how to get the data out of the TSC7. LOL
Crap, did you figure it out? I may do a video tonight on that one. I have some new government customers that will need to know how to do that.
@@SurveyingWithRobert No, I did not. It seemed like everything I was looking up wanted me to have a subscription to TBC
trueshot6969 you dont have TBC or the scanning module?
How I can shot repetition shots with SX 10??
Andi Bica tracking?
Surveying With Robert ..i did with my S6 repetition shots for control points..and I was wandering if it is something similar in SX10
Andi Bica I am confused about your question. In standard mode the default I 5 shots. Are you wanting to average the points?
Surveying With Robert...with the repetition shor for my Controls I did three sets for each point..and I adjusted them in the office..There is an option in S6 (repetition shot) that you can do that..I dont know if Im clear..
You have standard and tracking on your measurements. Tracking means it’s always shooting a distance.
Haloo you please help my, To tell me if you know how to restart the Sx10,Because give me this error codes: 1029 1030
Thinking it needs to go to the shop
This doesn't seem anywhere near as good as the leica ms60
So how fast does the MS60 scan?

Actually the Trimble is 26.6 all the way the MS60 is not according to the data sheet.
