For Someone who is 17 and still adores webkinz, the reason it’s still here today is because of the plush it’s self. I have an Instagram and RUclips for them and so do a bunch of other people I know. Not many of us including my self play the actual online part,but the stuffed animals them self are amazing. Also a lot more kids stopped playing webkinz possibly because in 2014 they stopped releasing webkinz signatures. So more people are on the hunt of finding the webkinz signature plush itself since it is now considered a collectors item than worrying about the online game. Ganz is slowing fading with a bunch of us growing older and soon will grow out of them but for right now they are actually doing well with people still buying their products. And for the video they post showing the plush, they are showing it for people who still enjoy them to get more interested in the item than just looking at a picture of the plush. :)
Dude, you got my respect for making a Webkinz video. As if I didn't love your channel before! Seriously, Webkinz was my LIFE from around 2007 to 2011 and I still hold it dear to my heart now. I am one of those dedicated fanatics that kept playing even after it peaked and still occasionally to this day. Because it will seriously NEVER die.

As a Webkinz fan still to this day, I can definitely say that the Instagram and RUclips communities keep this company in business.
Also, only about 35% of the people online are kids, the rest are the same kids from 2007 playing now as teenagers or adults.
Even though Ganz has stopped creating Webkinz plush, it’s still a big part of people’s lives and the ‘Kinztagram’ and ‘Kinztube’ community continues to thrive.

Oh man I used to be obsessed with Webkinz when I was a kid! I would buy them all the time from multiple stores trying to collect as many as possible. Every once in a while I’ll check on my account and I still have a few of my stuffed animals just for nostalgia. Good times. Sad to see those years disappear. RIP Webkinz childhood 2007-20?? It’s mostly collectors that have stuck around for so long. Also, a very certain webkinz plushie kind of exploded the webkinz collector community(in a good way). Signatures. They have been “retired” by now. It’s one of main reasons why Webkinz is still around but mostly because there are many dedicated people that enjoy the game but also collecting the plushies.
Jesus Christ Webkinz is still up after all these years? I’ve never played the game myself but I remember back during my Club Penguin addiction I used to watch a channel called CP Broadcast and in one of his videos he said Webkinz was gay and that’s how I found out about this game.

Webkinz actually still has a fandom! It's fairly small though, I'm in it. There's many "kinztubers " and "kinztagrammers " I actually made my own video about the rise and fall of webkinz.
And for myself and many others, we're only in it for the plushes. The website went downhill.
And interesting fact, webkinz started losing popularity at the same time they released deluxe membership.

I was into Webkinz before it became popular. I found the Cocker Spaniel one at a buffet in Lancaster, PA and it began from there. My fondest memories were The Monkey and Monkey Show, The Wheel Of Wow, a game with circus-like stock music and Miss Birdy. I was addicted to it and my favorite one was the pink pony.

So sad that the TV shows are gone! The cocker spaniel was my first as well! That was my first account though. After 7 webkinz and like 25 rooms I started a new account in 2008.

Webkinz was (and honestly still is) my life! I have 97 Webkinz as of right now and I don’t plan on stopping my collection any time soon. I actually got my first Webkinz almost exactly 11 years ago, when I was 4. Ah the memories.
I had over 100 plushies,
(I have proof if you'd like)
and 3 different accounts. I now can't find a single plush anywhere, when I remember that they were everywhere. I donated the majority of them, and kept a couple I had a more attachment to. Still return and play it to this day.
Webkinz actually still has a decent player base even in 2023. I’m apart of several social media groups that are filled with daily users. It’s mostly adults who played as kids and now play it for nostalgia (me included). Clearly the player base is nowhere near what it was at it’s peak, but they’re still making enough profits to keep it alive with regular updates and events. :) Since they decided to stop making Classic plushies and switched the original game strictly to virtual purchases, im sure that has helped big time with profits.
Webkinz was the best! It was my childhood and it was a simpler time. When I went into my old account to see what has become the website...Mostly everything was for "Deluxe Members" and my heart just sank.

The Webkinz website isn't going anywhere any time soon. They just announced that they have stopped making plush (for now) because there weren't enough people purchasing them. However, Ganz is now putting their full attention into the website/app.
Also, due to flash being shut down next year, Ganz realized this and made a desktop app for windows, so you can still play next year. As for mac users, I'm unsure what Ganz is going to do for us, but we still have the mobile app!

I'm 22 & I pay for a deluxe membership on Webkinz lmao. It's actually really fun and helps my anxiety. Also, it's not really kids who play on Webkinz anymore. It's people my age who used to play when they were younger and also elderly people like to play. If you go on Webkinz Newz, you can see comments from a ton of people who are older. There's definitely some kids that play though.
I remember all of these games so vividly. I'm not joking, I remember ALL of those games.
I joined webkinz on March 29th 2009 and I joined on my birthday.
I think the deluxe membership contributed to the fall of webkinz, it took 3/4 of the things that used to be free on the website and made you pay for it with a monthly subscription. (I think it was like $3-$5 per month) And of course most parents won’t buy something like that for their kids. And when kids get money they have better stuff to spend it on.

I loved webkinz so much, I was so pissed when they started that ‘deluxe membership’ crap. Of course I had outgrown them by then, but my little brother had to deal with it. I had at least ten different pets. Who else LOVED the arcade games?
I and my friends made full lives for them. They were in relationships, broke up (my webkinz's girlfriend heard a rumor that her boyfriend, my webkinz, cheated on her and we spent an entire saturday helping him to convince her it wasn't true), got married, had kids, and even went to school. One girl made a real school for them, and anyone who joined got a small paper backpack and some small notebooks. Every break we would take them to class and she even gave them homework, we had to "help" them with.

I still have the Webkinz that my best friend gave me when we were kids. I don't think I played the online game much, but I did play with my plushies a lot.
Webkinz's biggest problem, if you ask me, was the addition of Deluxe Membership and the subsequent decline in rights you had as a normal user. We bought the pets. We bought access to the site. And then that would only last for a year? Then, more and more features were locked behind the Deluxe Memberships, including existing features (it was a sad day when Polar Plunge was relegated to Deluxe only). It routinely alienated it's userbase (paying userbase! don't forget that the plushes costed a pretty penny and free membership wasn't a thing for a very long time) and got greedy. It also got more and more expensive ingame.
And, in the effort of making things more "safe", they made the whole experience so much more restrictive. Remember when you could name your rooms however you wanted? yeah me too.
The state of Webkinz today is such a shame, I'd love to play it the way it was back in 2007-2010

How did I miss out on this when I was a kid?! I was obsessed with stuffed animals as a kid! This game seemed like the perfect one for me!
I started it in 2007 with my reindeer, and my collection expanded to at least 155 Webkinz until I eventually grew out of it and got rid of most of my Webkinz. However I did keep a few that are dear to me, like the reindeer and my hyena, (in which I sewed a Mohawk onto last week!). I was curious to see what the game was like in 2018 a few weeks ago,
so I logged onto my old account and saw that non-members are not allowed to do ANYTHING anymore. They took basically everything you were able to do and left it for member use only. Not only that, but everything new in the little store is E-points and not cash like it used to be. It seems as if that’s a way of trying to stay alive. A very, very desperate one at that! 😂
Oh, and the best pet of the month videos were the googles one, the Stay away from me thing, and piggy plum pie. I can’t believed I remembered the names to those! Lol.

Yes Webkinz definitely still exists today! There’s a fan base for it (who are mostly teens/young adults) but it’s super small. The site as a whole is super buggy and flawed, but the plush side (which as of 2 days ago, are now ALL discontinued!!!) is still pretty popular among the people who still like it. I’ve got almost 300 pff
