as of very recently, the vmware tools are no longer available for download from their website. you should host this file somewhere so that i can grab it, google drive maybe? in dire need

go out of full screen > player > manage > install tools > continue > download 3X (dont ask why) > go out full screen and go back in > enjoy (i think it worked like dat)
