    Don't sweat the small dings and dents. If you're looking into getting an EV, this is an absolutely great way to try one out for a year or so and see if it fits your lifestyle or your expectations. If you qualify for the 4000 tax credit at the point of sale with Hertz, you can buy one of these for just under 20k before ttl. Still under bumper to bumper warranty. New they are in the low 40's. We just paid after taxes and fees $22,700 for a 2022 with 30k miles. Stop sweating the small stuff, enjoy the car and if you don't like it, sell it next year. Enjoy all!

      Why couldn't you have inspected the car prior to purchasing since you are being nit picky about so many issues after tbe fact?

    seems like you got a decent deal, i was going for a Hertz car just before i found one closer to me. 2019, SR+ with 39k on it and got it for $21700 + TTL. Not bad. Mine had some little nicks here and there but it smelled brand new inside.
    These are mass produced throw-away cars, lots of fitment issues (on early ones) but for your year, most of the items were ironed out.
    Welcome to the Fam!

    OMG - we got ours in March for $3k more… and literally were just complaining about it! But, our car had very little damage.
    How Hertz can sell them below the KBB range is crazy - if you get 3-5 years for $23k and a decent battery, in CA that’s a huge savings on gas!!!
    We get about ~ 220 miles on a full charge driving @ 70-75 mph on I-5. About 250 miles/charge driving locally (19” wheels).

    Problem with Hertz, especially on the West Coast, is Hertz says cars are in stock when they have been sold. I booked an appt and drove an hour round trip only to be told the car had been sold. When you put in a request for "more info" you will get a foreign representative most likely from the Phillipines reading off of a script. It truly is a pain in the ass working with Hertz.

    I also have a Tesla from hertz. One thing I HIGHLY recommend is replacing the cabin air filters yourself. Super easy. They never replace mine.

    Pretty decent shape for a car with 50K miles I would say. Certainly better than anything else comparable you'd find out there for under $20K ($24K - $4K credit).

    Make sure those tires are rated to the model 3 weight, few people in the past have had cheaper tires non rated and got some nasty bubbles. Good luck!

    How in the heck did some of that damage occur in a 2023 tesla with about 1 years worth of use - I've had my vehicle for 7 years and even i haven't had some of that damage using it every day.

    • @conchobar
      @conchobar 2 месяца назад +1

      Hertz had a program where Uber/Lyft drivers could rent a Tesla from them. Hence all the wear and tear on the inside of the trunk. My guess is the guy who rented it had a lot of airport passengers.

      @@conchobar Ride share is the worst for EVs in general. Ride share renters use 100% of the battery and supercharge daily. A combination that adds exponential degradation to the battery that is hard to measure. I'd be worried that a Hertz car might not have the battery warranty honored in certain conditions since it's been abused.

  • @conchobar
    @conchobar 2 месяца назад +1

    A large percentage of used cars on dealer lots are from rental companies (Fleet). My advice is to at least give them a look. A sub 40k mile 2022 Model 3 for under $20k OTD is a crazy deal. That's the price of a used corolla.

    I think you got a very good deal. I have been looking myself at Hertz for a Model #. In my area (New England), I saw a 2022 with 23,000 miles for $22K. Not bad. It is in my budget. Now I just have to find financing. A question though, had you ever driven an EV/Tesla? Model 3 prior to purchasing this vehicle?also, is this your first EV?

    Bait and switch - thanks for the video but I wasted 6 hours of my life today trying to buy a Tesla from a local Hertz in Smithtown LI. - After talking to 2 different agents and driving nearly 3 hours, when I got to the Smithtown office I was told there are no Teslas for sale and that the website was not updated in a long time. What a scam. Don't waste your time. I'll try to post this everywhere I can.

    Imagine buying new car and a year later it's only worth 50% of what you paid for it. Just think how much more that car will depreciate over the coming years. Any EV is not going to hold it's value very well, but if you are planning to drive it until the battery fails, it might be OK. I sold my 2018 RAV4 this year for $22K and I paid $27K for it in 2019 used.

  • @aware2action

    What is the mileage, basic warranty expires at 50k🤔. Battery condition is difficult to gauge, esp. number of times supercharged to 100%. How long it was left at 100% , how low it was drained to and how many times etc. Not sure, if its worth going through all the trouble, just to save few thousands. You can get a brand new for much cheaper soon🤞.😂

    Lol i got lucky with my deal, I kept waiting so I got mines 3 days ago for $23k at 36k miles. They were down to their last 3 Tesla's, I was sure they won't get anymore so I rushed their at 9am. They were so desperate they had 50k miles for $21k.
    Btw how long did it take for them to transfer the account. What steps did you take. I keep getting blocked/page doesn't load on "rename the car" so I can't add the car/can't super charge

      All I did was request it on the Tesla app, uploaded the sales Contract and ID, it took a couple hours. I did have a 2020 Tesla on the account maybe that had to with how fast it was approved. I did read on reddit that sometimes you have to call and they do it right away. For me it happened fast and didn't have to do anything extra.
