@@meimiaolin2581 yes, you’re right some people are born without arms and legs. It doesn’t mean they need your pity. They are people and they deserve respect. Your pity comes from the fact that you see yourself as superior. You assume you live a more fulfilled life than them, but that only speaks to your own ego and arrogance. A life well lived doesn’t depend on whether you are missing a limb or not, it depends on your emotional intelligence and your support system, amongst other things. More often than not, people with disabilities are more resilient and open minded than people without disabilities. Any time the US loses in anything it is a threat to its national security! The US is an extremely fragile being despite having military bases all over the world ready to attack anybody that doesn’t bow to its orders!

Electrodes connected to nerve endings in the arm that sends electrical impulses to servos in the mechanical arm that mimics electrical impulses to the muscles and tendons of a human arm - all controlled from the brain.
The innovation and the particular technology have gone a major leap certainly. But that doesn't mean the particular prosthesis is more flexible than a natural human arm, certainly not yet. Under any circumstances, a natural arm is far more superior than any prosthesis. The prosthesis only aids in providing an arm like structure for people who have lost a limb. kudos for the invention by the team though.
It's more difficult to precisely control a human hand with all five fingers and numerous joints, especially without direct interface with neurons. Much easier and reliable if it is just a basic turn and pinch from a sensing and control prespective, especially for a system using only external sensors.
