I’m curious. I drove in that area recently and was in awe of the natural beauty. Dollywood brought a lot of revenue to the area but are some locals disgruntled that it brought too much attention and people to the quiet area it once was?
@@tjwash2 there may be some disgruntled locals, but it is what brings revenue to the town. We learned which back roads to take to avoid the main strip. Without Dollywood and all the other entertainment establishments, there would be no work for anyone. It's just really one area of town that gets pretty crowded with traffic. It's a curse and blessing rolled into one.
we went to dollywood twice this last May when we went to TN, for the first time, to see our daughter and grandkids...they love going there. i was so impressed with the place and couldn't get over what this amazing woman has done .
Dolly is nothing short of a national treasure. Not only is she a colossal talent, she's simply one of the best, kindest, most big-hearted people in the world. I worship her.

Dolly is a Tennessee and National Treasure. I think in the early eighties Barbara Walters interviewed Dolly and Barbara said Dolly may be the smartest woman she ever met. Faithful to her husband who stayed out of the Limelight. She said her favorite thing to do is ride in their RV. Dolly says she loves waving at people when they ride down the road. She is a lady that kept her famous life mostly private and loves the simple things life has to offer. What a singer. Writer , performer and mostly a God loving woman. She is bigger than a Legend.

I met her cohort back in 85 Kenny Rogers in Knoxville Iowa shortly after the gambler movie.there was a sprint car chassis named the gambler so Kenny would make appearances with it.awesome guy to meet.would love to meet Dolly also.this show was on my bday
I met Dolly in the 70's in Mo. I was a Boy Scout and she came to our area to perform. I was lucky enough to be one of the ones who got to escort her to the stage (along with her security) she's a Wonderful Person and so Gracious to allow us to be a part of her escorts. She's still as beautiful and Gracious now as she was back then. Also had a chance in the 90's to meet her again in Branson, Mo. American Icon!!!

A true American legend and gem. I've been a fan of hers since I was 4 years old and I just turned 47. Wish I was at the Newport Folk Festival for this.
Dolly is proof that it is possible to become an icon while remaining true to oneself, staying genuine and humble, having confidence in one’s talent, and never treating others unkindly. She has, without fail, been supportive of other artists/ her competition. She is a brilliant businesswoman who never bemoaned the cost of celebrity. And the job base she created in Her hometown area is phenomenal. And when you think you can’t admire her more, remember that she has personally caused tens of millions of children’s books to be given to countless children around the world through her imagination library. Yes, it’s a carefully crafted and guarded public persona that she maintains, allowing her private life to be private, but who can blame her? She’s totally candid with what she chooses to share and doesn’t share what she feels is nobody’s business. That’s called class. She exemplifies how to share one’s talent and use the results to spread love in the world. An incredible role model for everyone, male and female, young and old. One of the top three people I’d give an eye to spend a day with getting to know.
If only we could bottle up that "Dolly happiness, kindness, and overall generosity " in a jar and sell it, this world would certainly be a much better place!!!! 🍾

I did not know Dolly went to college. She was on Knoxville TV at about age 13, moved to Nashville right after highschool. But a super woman, loved deeply in east Tennessee. With a heart of gold
Dolly did not attend college. She was awarded an honorary degree in humane and musical letters from the University of Tennessee. Dolly is just naturally smart and talented. She has stated in past interviews that she reads at least 60 books a year. It’s truly amazing how she even finds the time considering her work load. Dolly educated herself, which obviously shows by owning many businesses and her own publishing company, There will never be another Dolly Rebecca Parton.
