did you give us unlimited stamina in the map now??? when i did the map for the event, i could always see my stamina bar as it would slowly go down. now i do not see it

For me it was more than challenging it was broken. After checkpoint 31 the hallway i would fall to my death every time (PS4). It seems that it was the same for a lot of other people too by what was said on redit and steam.
I stopped playing DL2 like half a year ago. Completely forgot all the controls and everything, came back after seeing guns got added and thought I'd give the bounties a go. Got a silver time on my second run (I completely forgot about wall-running so I first tried jumping at the wall-run bit near the beginning). I saw one tutorial and how to clear that part and then remembered it was a thing. That's when I got a silver time. The bounty didn't get marked as completed on PO so I tried beating it the next day. That's when the map updated and had the issue where you literally fell out of the world, unable to complete it. The day after that, I got a gold time. No idea why people keep complaining about this map, I thought it was very fun!
I have no clue how people were struggling, I don’t even really know advanced techniques instantly got gold all in my first attempt.
Agreed, I only died once and that's cuz I was stupid and tried cheesing one of the final jumps because I wanted to be as quick as possible

Maybe some people use grapple to move around since that's way faster than shitty ass walk/run so without a hook they have harder time? That was my case, got silver second time and 3rd time got 5:44 maybe with slide jump

Thank you, your running around the water part helped me a lot. I have nerve damage and kept falling and falling into the water due to my lack of muscle response from that. Also, I switched off online mode and took off assisted mode, which for some reason also seemed to help!
3:58 - Speaking of the music being nice.. My favorite music in the game is when you've been running pretty smoothly across the city for a while or been paragliding for a long time. The way those tracks fade in hits just right for me. Thanks for the video

"skill" issue shouldnt keep you from enjoying the same rewards, some people cant do what others can, thats why competition exists, this is supposed to be a gift of sorts, and some of us dont have the ability to play 10 hours a day, if so many complain, there is obviously SOMETHING wrong about it...
I know when I first tried I was regularly getting snagged on things and that feckin post after the gate jump. I also found turning auto run helped a lot and regularly pressing shift to go faster to pace myself. A problem is I can’t see my stamina level. I also didn’t know you could go through the gap at the end of the warehouse or go through the top of the checkpoints either. I have managed to achieve at least a bronze so I can get my scorpion.

I’m still pissed off at Techland for this bullshit, But at least I can progress to killing people with the Scorpio, which I couldn’t do without having finished this!

Yh I mean I hadn't played the game in a week and I played on Thursday and did the map in my 3rd run the first I messed up the end where u slide and jump in the highway and the 2nd I think I just got annoyed and restarted but yh I done it some tips SLIDE JUMP is ur friend and when swinging rope make sure to kick and when running always dart or dash try to learn the double jump trick where u jump then press crouch then double jump then attack u should do a triple jump and finally if u have internal error with trying the map then what u should do is go to others on the community map screen press logout then log in and completely restart ur game then go back in and it should download check BGA vid on it if it didn't work fortunately I didn't gett the error

I'm on a Facebook group about DL2, and everytime I intend to comment "skill issue" on a post of someone complaining about difficulty, I remember that one time a guy that had problems with the parkour tell me he's a 60 y/o...

@AussieGG That's not entirely true. I'm young, but I have nerve/joint issues in my hands, it can cause my fingers to lock up or my hand to spasm which can obviously mess up a run, I expect there are some older people with issues similar to mine.
You don't need gold, you can get silver or bronze and it still works. I'm not familiar with your medical history so I have no idea how big of an issue the nerves are for you, so I can't really speak on that. What I can say though is that the Scorpio is most likely gonna come back anyway via some other permanent method of obtaining it, rather than making this FOMO method that lasts only 3 weeks. If they don't bring it back then yeah that's a serious problem.
As for the challenge itself, I don't think it's an issue even after what you said. A reward is given for completing an objective that you have to earn. Whether it's completing a main quest by killing enemies, or by parkouring somewhere - the idea is that you have to play and achieve it. This bounty is no different from that, and if you have a problem with this then you will also have a problem with almost the entirety of the rest of the game.@@SpikedTeeth
@@AussieGG For the first part, that's my bad. For some reason, I thought you had 7 minutes to get bronze and I just phrased it oddly altogether, my brain is a bit foggy at the moment. And just to clarify, I wasn't tying to be rude towards you with my comment, just explaining how this map isn't possible to beat for everyone because of the time limit and the existence of disabilities. There's truly nothing wrong with this bounty, as you said they'll probably add the Scorpio to the DL store or PO once the events over, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating when you can't get the rest of the event rewards because of a single bounty you can't complete due to something out of your control. I don't expect Techland to bend over backwards to make sure everything is accessible, that would be unreasonable, but this is the first bounty, at least to my knowledge, that is based on beating a time limit and it's directly attached to the event so I was just surprised by it. It's the first bounty I've seen a lot of the community struggling with as well, I'm obviously not sure if all of them are disabled or not, but clearly something about this challenge makes it a step above the previous ones. I'm also not entirely sure what you mean by that last part? I've played the game multiple times, I'm slower at it then most people since I have to take a lot more breaks and take longer paths with less jumping involved, but it's not impossible to beat by any means. I don't do the parkour/combat challenges since they tend to make me have a flare up, but I don't remember anything in the main story or side quests being impossible, the few timed sections were all pretty lenient and with grenades and molotovs I can avoid having to mash the attack button for the most part.

I've been grinding this map for 2 years and still can't get under 10 minutes. Techland really messed up putting the scorpio behind a parkour challenge in dl2. What were they thinking?

Okay so I did some of my own testing focusing on the difference between assisted and physical and holy shit, assisted is so ass. The removal of air control and the slower jump speed in assisted make this map such a terrible map to play, especially at the lake and warehouse sections, and if you have auto-sprint turned off you will have twice as bad a time. I played it 5 times like you did in the video and I never finished, I had to b-hop and super rope jump to finish with all those settings on. It actually got me so unbelievably frustrated playing like this and I have 870 hours in the game.
So, If you are having trouble with with this map, go into the options and turn ON physical parkour and turn ON auto-sprint. If you must play with assisted, then at least turn on auto-sprint, thats a really big run killer. You can turn it back on when you are done

Hey - Make sure you have the following setup to perform, the parkour like in this video - Or if not, you'll most likely never be able to complete the parkour/Map with our abusing parkour bugs in game.
Settings - Game - 'Parkour - Physical, Auto-Sprint - 'on'
If you don't, what you'll notice is that the character in game will become tired/out of breath within the first 30-secs, this will then keep happening in short period's of time.
Don't believe me try it yourself.

I have never played DL2, only played DL1. The day I saw someone play this map, I thought, 'Wow, looks like the community's still going strong.'
When I learned people were upset at the difficulty, I was just confused. I'm fairly certain I'd have more trouble navigating the Slums again than this map.
Aside from all of that, this map is phenomenal.

Aside from people with medical issues or people who haven't played in a long time i really couldn't understand why anyone was having trouble with this challenge, I'm not great at the parkour and made a fuck ton of mistakes and still (somehow) just barely got under 6 minutes, it truly baffles me how smart and equally dumb techland's community can be lol.
I haven't managed to comlete it yet. I play on ps5 myself. But whenn i am at the point at 5:25 i fall through the map whe i ran through it. And at the end i made a mistake so i missed the jump and fell down from the road😬
I think CREX updated it to fix the falling through the ground issue you had.

It's one thing to struggle, but calling the map too hard / bad / poorly designed in response to struggling is just silly.
people struggling have less than 20 hours on the game it was so easy i got 4:49:61 only thing i struggle with is the random stuff on the ground like skeletons and corpses that blocks you but crex said hes updating it with fixes

I can understand not doing it the first time because you gotta learn the route and see where to go. So taking the first attempt as a "practice" run to see where to go is great. But there is absolutely 0 mechanical skill required, nor any physical strain of inputs. It's just a matter of moving forward and pressing jump occasionally.

Yeah… It’s dog simple when you have keyboard and mouse, and a game that actually keeps you running all the time. I have to mash the fuck out of the left stick, and slide jump the entire way to get anywhere close to your time, and now that I’m finally making good enough time, it dumps me into the ground on the final jumps. I had the same issue for a week before I was able to resolve it. I'm on PC, and had to launch dev tools directly, unlink and relink my mod.io account, and then launch Community Maps through the main game again. It seemed to work then.

Did you watch the video? You just need to press the forward button and occasionally press the jump button. That's it, that's literally it. No mechanical skill required other than basic knowledge of how to control your character.

Hardware limitations is not an excuse.
Here are a couple reasons why I can legitimately understand people having issues with this map:
1. There isn't very clear direction on what you're supposed to use to navigate certain sections. For instance, there are many players who never use tic-tac in the main game so at the section at 2:07 they might be trying to jump to the plants to the right or the rock to the left that looks like a platform. And if they can't even figure that section out first time you can absolutely forget about the warehouse and military zone section. There's a reason the main game is covered in yellow tarps and paint.
2. Similarly, these player might not understand other basic mechanics like being able to kick off a rope or being able to jump/climb out of the water. Your tip of going the long way will not help these players because their run is basically dead as soon as they touch the water
3. The map is long, much longer than any parkour challenge in the main game, which alot of players already struggle with.
4. Probably the biggest reason why is because the devs are basically asking these players to engage with a system they have no interest in, the parkour, in order to get the most unique weapon in the game. This is the ONLY parkour related bounty in all 3 weeks of the anniversary bounties, the rest is literally just killing stuff.
So basically, the devs are asking a group of players who only play this game for the zombies and gore, who probably don't even know how to change to physical parkour outside of starting a new game, to run through a long ass map with no direction other than the sections that go straight (I know there's waypoints, but those don't help if they're behind a wall you can't figure out how to get around.) These players piss me off, but their struggle is real nonetheless and saying "skill issue" and "git gud" is only gonna make someone hate the game when they are physically incapable of self-reflection.
Can't really tell if this video was supposed to be a tutorial or just another excuse to shit on redditors, which I understand completely.
1. It's pretty clear to me. People can even just spend time doing a practice run to learn the route, where they can afford to stand still and assess the area ahead to see where to go. If people never used tic-tac, that's on them for refusing to engage with a mid-game skill that everyone unlocks. The warehouse and military zone sections are also much easier because you don't need tic tac or anything of the sort to navigate. There are plenty of objects to jump or climb up. Waypoints exist and they're plenty enough to help out.
2. Fair enough about kicking off a rope, but that only happens like 3 times and saved me maybe 3 seconds max, you can do it fine without rope kicking. If people don't know how to jump/climb out of the water they would've been softlocked in the water sections of some areas of the map, that's not an excuse and that's on them.
3. The map is long and the timer accommodates for its length. I don't see the issue here other than people spending a longer time to commit to completing the map.
4. Parkour is literally the core of the game alongside the combat. There are entire sections of the game (not just side content, but main story too) that is dedicated to parkour. How on earth are people not using parkour in a parkour centric game? I do agree that getting a combat related reward in the form of the Scorpio for a parkour quest is completely unrelated and makes no sense tho.
You are correct tho, this video was mainly made to as a response to people shitting on the map. I've seen people issue death threats and call for mass reports / downvoting of his map on Mod.io and it's disgusting behaviour for them to do that while they're incapable of the most basic mechanics ever. Also, this map does NOT need a tutorial because of how easy it is.
@@AussieGG Yeah, things are pretty clear to you and me. I wish that were a universal experience, but it just isn't. If this was part of the nocturnal machete bounties I think these players would probably just skip it, but since its for the scorpio and this is literally the only way to get it, they are frustrated.
And that's the thing about the combat and parkour, its your choice how much you engage with the systems. Personally, I rarely engage in combat outside of sections where its required or bounties that require it, which turns out to be a majority of the game. Parkour on the other hand is much less leaned on, and in the second act those sections all basically become paraglider missions. None of the main story's parkour missions come close to the level of this map (because the map maker knew what they were doing.) Even the Waltz chase has what me and a friend call "skill issue paths" that allow you just climb a ladder or walk up stairs instead of swinging and wall running and climbing, and that's the most memorable parkour section in the entire game imo. We could also go on about the difference in skill ceilings/floors with the two systems, but that's like a whole thing.
So just because its a core of the game, doesn't mean that everyone who's playing knows that, or even cares. You only have to look at the first game to know that.
What I really want to say is, this map is too good for these people and that's unfortunate. Complaining feels good, we're doing it and I feel great. Still, its pretty toxic to just waive off people's frustrations by constantly saying "its on them" without giving it much more thought.
My attitude may be toxic by handwaving their complaints, but their complaints just aren't valid and it's in response to people who are calling CREX a shit map creator and downvoting the map en masse. If someone is struggling but at least has the awareness to know the fault is on them then there's nothing wrong. What is wrong is people actually blaming others instead of themselves.
@@AussieGG Like I said, people who make those complaints/threats aren't capable of self-reflection. Its unfortunate that this is actually a controversial topic; maybe techland could have mitigated the damage somehow but I don't think anybody could have expected this sort of reaction because, like you said, its actually a really easy map. Just thought I'd offer my two cents as to where the issue might be coming from.

But with assisted I couldn't finish the map.

Do you have auto sprint disabled? That might be why he stops running.

I'm committing the felony offense of commenting a second time here, but.. has anyone else experienced a bug where you don't have unlimited stamina? This map was tough for me to complete because of that. Had to do everything perfectly because I had to stop to catch Aiden's breath when his stamina ran out constantly. I wasn't using dash or dart. Just regular sprinting forward. Still managed to complete it, but couldn't get gold to save my life
Turn on auto sprint and that should solve your issue.

Techland didn't make the map, a community member did. And he recently released an update that fixes the falling through map issue.

I also have another friend who was new to the game (he never even got past the prologue of DL2) and set his game to 10 FPS, and still beat it: ruclips.net/video/lKx_rr7ZCgQ/видео.html
All of these are indicators that the platform doesn't matter, the map is still not only doable, but also easy.

It's in response to people who mass downvote the map because they call it badly designed / impossible to complete, and blame the map instead of themselves. You don't need to be anywhere near as good as me to complete the map, as demonstrated that you only need the most basic mechanical knowledge to get even gold. If people got past the prologue, they are 100% able to complete the map easily.
@AussieGG all true, and still true is that it was completely unnecessary to insult people for not finding it easy. A lame thing to do, yet you seem to be incapable of not doing it.
Calling out a blatant skill issue is not insulting them. After all the tips have been given, if someone still complains and struggles with it, it 100% is a skill issue because as said before: If you've completed the prologue, you can complete the map as the prologue teaches you all the mechanical requirements for the map.@@cybrsage

That's the easiest map ever dude, I completed it with silver medal on xbox one with low fps (idk wtf did the creator do to make it low fps), it wasn't big deal
Iknow for alot of you pros at this that its easy but iam on my 28 try at this even with parkour pysical and auto sprint still to late besides crashing and dying to my death! At 47 checkpoints icouldnt move my thumb anymore !!! F**(* me!!! Stupid ridiculous event!! Makes the game even more boring! I gave up with this!!
