- In this video, I will demonstrate how to make a DIY anti chlorine solution for your aquarium, allowing you to effectively remove chlorine from tap water at home. Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure the health and well-being of your aquatic pets.
Please Note : In the case of chloramine, Sodium Thiosulfate will only neutralize the chlorine portion of the chloramine, not the ammonia. So, additional steps must be taken to remove it. Natural zeolite products can be used with carbon filters to remove the ammonia. Also, the beneficial bacteria in filters help to remove it. So, good quality and efficient filters should be used according to the size of the tank. Plants also absorb ammonia from the water.

Just finished my 500ml of your DIY anti-chlorine and I'm looking back to this video to make another again. I live in the region where fishes died often everytime the water got changed(seems due to hight chlorine contain on the tap water) . This DIY method is super effective and also i might be the one who always cross the limits when adding haha. But fish were healthy l,it meant no harm to my fishes. ❤️❤️❤️

The cure for ich is to raise the temperature to 86 degrees Fahrenheit for 24 hours, then slowly reduce it back to normal.

Is it sodium thiosulfate or sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate? Can you please clear the confusion. I think sodium thiosulfate can be found in powdered form, but pentahydrate is in crystalline form.

Rid-All anti-chlorine has a maximum shelf life of 24 months, whereas this DIY anti-chlorine should be used within a year.

1 ml of this solution will treat 10 gallons of water. Sodium thiosulfate reacts with chlorine and neutralizes it. I made this liquid for aquarium purpose only. I don't know if sodium thiosulfate is safe for other animals.

But boiling water does not remove chloramines or other contaminants such as heavy metals, salts, and other chemicals. Only an effective filtration system (a RO water purifier or a catalytic carbon filter) can remove chloramine, chlorine, and other contaminants from your water.

I don’t think, it will be a good idea. Because it is a medicine and may contain other elements or impurities (it’s mentioned in the website also) that may be harmful to aquarium fish, shrimp and snails. So, it is better to use pure sodium thiosulfate instead.
