I agree. I was told as a young kid, no matter how much physical talent you have, have a plan B, stay humble, and know that any moment can be your last, when it comes to sports. I'm glad I listened, because the physical beating you take from multiple athletes tackling you comes @ price on one's health.
He has the physical attributes, but does he have the right mindset? What happens when he faces adversity? When he faces failure?
Some will ask, "Why you hating on this kid?" That's not what I'm doing at all. The future is unwritten, I wish him a bright and successful future, but like anyone who faces failure, conquering that adversity and learning to overcome it is more character building than pure success. Succes makes you complacent, makes you believe you are super human, until someone or something brings you back to reality.
Even from the great Jerry Rice himself, no matter how hard he trained, and good he played, he still never achieved "perfection". Never achieved what he believed to be his "perfect game". Because nobody is perfect, and we all have room for improvement.
I hope we can see him grace the pros in the next 10-12 years

@Tyland Tyland mainly? Erick Dickerson (who owns the rushing record in a season for both a rookie and all time), Earl Campbell (greatest power back ever), Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Doak Walker, Jamal Charles etc, are from Texas.
Barry Sanders is Kansas, Walter Payton was Mississippi, Oj Simpson is California, Franco Harris New Jersey, Jim Brown i think New York.
I honestly don't feel like naming every great runningback, as there are many more but anyways,
I can't think of anyone else but Emmitt Smith from Florida that became an nfl great runningback.

I knew a kid who I played football with back in 1975 in Boise, Idaho who was named Ralph Totorica. This was a 10-year-old Basque phreak athlete who was a somewhat short, but a muscular, heavier and twitcher than any 10 year old ever. Way faster than Blaze Ingram or anyone else that age. And this kid had the power at that age of Earl Campbell. I mean this kid would run over people and look for contact. He loved it. These clips of Blaze are cute, but nothing, I MEAN NOTHING compared to what I've seen with my own eyes over four years as a young teammate with Ralph Totorica.
The guy I played with could play shutdown corner on defense every game and it wasn't even close because he was always the fastest kid on the field. Little Ralphy (His mom called him Ralphy) weighed 85 pounds at 10 years old, he was strong, cocky and he was mean and fast too. And he ran over anyone and everyone, even kids who were heavier by 20 pounds
Also, he was the best kicker and punter in the state. He was everything.
He, as a 10-year-old moved just like Walter Payton. He had all of Walter Payton's moves. And he was only 85 pounds, but he was thick and muscular. He was a 10-year-old Walter Payton. And he had that dead-leg Walter Payton move too. He used it all the time. He was a crusher, brutalizer and a killer. He was the most insane young athlete ever.
Imagine playing a football game as a 10-year old and the running-back/QB/kicker/shutdown corner/punter, was Walter-frickin' Payton! I'm not exaggerating. Ralph Totorica was the hall-of-fame best football player in Pop Warner football ever. And it's not close. This Blaze kid is good. But nothing compared to what I witnessed with the best ever, Ralph Totorica.
Back in the 1970's you didn't see a cocky, brown-toned football player anytime in Idaho youth football. But, people came from all over to watch young Ralphy do his thing. It was fun to watch. And he did this cocky approach just from his own inherent idea about how much better he was than anyone as an athlete at that age. He was an ace tennis player. He was a number one basketball athlete. He was just better than anyone in everyone in the State of Idaho, and I think the best 10-year-old athlete in the history of the United States. Unless Bo Jackson was this good too. And he probaly was.
I ran into a neice of Ralph's recently. He is an IT guy doing amazing stuff down in Phoenix, AZ now.
Oh, yes, I forgot to mention. Ralph was always a straight-A student.
