With someone that has never towed a caravan before do you think that a highway such as the Bruce Highway that 80 k's an hour would be more safer for them to do that saying as I've never told one before and it will be a new adventure for me especially coming from Geelong Victoria and travelling up to Hervey Bay I've known what it's like as a truck driver travelling on the Bruce Highway and a lot of caravans are quite slow so I hope I am not one of those ones that people complain about lol

@@CaravanAdventureAus mines only a road caravan with old school springs and its on a 6inch chassis with little tyres a maccas speed hump will probably hurt mine , she's a 21.6 ft built in 2000 , I herd roadstar over built their chassis that's why u can get gvm upgrades easy on them 🤔 a 4inch ok strange that one , then I'd probably get that plate welded on made 3 times longer and have it both sides up and top too , beath her up big time
Geez the whole world is in such a rush these days. There are overtaking lanes every 10 km on the Bruce highway .Let people drive to how they feel comfortable.
Hey thanks for watching! Just to clear this up. We’re not complaining about 5-10kms/h under… we’re talking about 20 😂 Legit huge lines of cars and angry truck drivers behind them.
Trouble is they often can go from 80-110kmh suddenly on the overtaking lanes, I have also seen caravans sitting side by side doing 90kmh for many kms on a 110kmh motorway sections Sth of Gympie with the whole freeway choked up further than you can see, just being deliberate assholes, this is what the caravanning community is becoming known for.
How do you manage your puppy’s coat? Does it get matted? Going slow with a ‘van on the back, not being overloaded, having a properly balanced load to name a few things means less chance of sway and flipping your van and car killing yourself and other road users. People need to be patient and not overtake especially if they themselves are towing. What’s the hurry?
I just let people tow to their abilities, if they do 80-85km that’s ok, easier to overtake. Even when towing 95-100km - get muppets overtaking coming to bend or hill. Can’t stop car driver stupidity. Get rid of the WDH, that’s applying too much pressure on drawbar. Will keep on cracking, Longer fish plates would of been better. Ranger has a good wheel base- so WDH isn’t required. Juice 🐶 coming soon for a haircut ?
Hey thanks for watching! Just to clear this up. We’re not complaining about 5-10kms/h under… we’re talking about 20 😂 Legit huge lines of cars and angry truck drivers behind them.
Another great video guys but was very disappointed with your opinion of caravaners travelling at 85kph. Too often we have seen people towing vans too fast for their abilities. We are currently on Yorke Peninsula and on our way over here seen a fairly new van and Toyota Landcruiser end up in the paddock when overtaking a road train at more than 110kph. Sorry. But people need to drive within their comfort zone and ability.
Twice ? Nope just the once. I mean it is a 2004 caravan. Don’t thank that’s a good reason for sitting 20kms under the speed limit 🤔 I’m sure we’re not the only ones who have got annoyed sitting behind a slow driver
90km in a 100-120km is a responsible and safe speed while towing although I did see someone flip their car and van while overtaking in a dual lane while doing 80km . There are too many impatient road users that kill themselves or others. “Speed limit” means the fastest speed one can do but doesn’t mean we have to travel at top speed.
@CaravanAdventureAus all good mate we went around too with my d40 navara towing a caravan to its capability so 85/90 can't afford new tow rig it's about getting out there. Main street Gawler is 50km/h doesn't mean you do it 😉😊 Heavy transport engineer welder so have done heaps of chassis modifications in my time . Thanks 😊
@owenbuttfield9876 Never said anything about 90km/h. We're talking 20km below the speed limit... as for the plates well it's a lot better than I'd be able to weld it 😂
You complain about some people doing 85kmh at same time you mention you had your caravan chassis crack, isn't it possible by doing 85kmh less likely over time to damage Caravan chassis in the first place???
Hey mate! Personally wouldn’t have thought either of them things would be related 🤔 I think it’s fair to say we’ve all been stuck behind slow drivers and got annoyed at times
@@CaravanAdventureAus I am more annoyed by inconsiderate speeding motorists that pass traffic going normal speed in dangerous situations than by someone doing 90 in a 100 zone.. perhaps leave a day or two earlier if your in such a rush.
We said 80-85 not 90.. we towed at 95 with our triton safely, we are talking 20km under the speed limit please don't spin the story. Thanks for watching appreciate the comment 👍🏽
Didn't expect that from you guys regarding people doing 80klm p/h while towing their vans. I tow a a van with a atm of 3300 with a 200 series landcruiser, i tow it on the Highway at 90klm as that's my best fuel efficiency speed and I'm getting 18ltr per 100klm. I'm very disappointed with your comment.
Hey thanks for watching! 90 is a lot better than 80 (which we experienced and spoke about). We used to tow with the Triton doing 95 because it was best. The Bruce Highway is single lane and notorious for being dangerous with so many cars and trucks around. It all about keeping the flow of traffic and 20kms under the speed limit is just dangerous. They weren’t using a UHF either and speeding up in overtaking lanes. We weren’t complaining about 90kms/h just 80. 😊😊
Another selfish vanner more concerned with fuel economy than being a considerate road user. I bet you’re one of those who steal toilet roll from public toilets
Most Caravanners travel at 90kmph for fuel economy and safety. It is less likely to cause sway and lost control. A little disappointing that you both have not learnt this by now. Also people passing towing at speed are what is all over RUclips of roll videos for that reason. Otherwise enjoy your videos.
Nah youve got this one wrong......driving at 80 or 90 or 100 ive had people make DANGEROUS decisions (their decision) to overtake with blind bends ahead etc......100 is the MAXIMUM speed limit not MANDATORY....we all drive/tow within our comfort zone.....thumbs down im afraid...
Wow complaining about people going 85. Didnt expect that from you guys. Its safer to go 85 than 100, thats why. Yes accidents happen from impatient people wanting to get to their destination 5 minutes quicker and overtaking dangerously. Whos fault is that? Not the one towing the van safely
I am more then happy for you to do 85 just be considerate and pull over every now and then to let everyone else be able to get passed you and don’t speed up in over taking lanes like you people normally do
@Mr4xl 85 in 100 zone you can't be booked 😂. The only people that have an issue with it are impatient people that should really sit back and smell the roses a bit more in life
The Bruce Hwy north is crap!! I totally understand, Safety, Safety. Very disappointed with your comment slow drivers cause accidents. In the USA 55mph is the speed limit when towing.

Hi bryce and chelsea, Chris here from Geelong and formerly Hervey Bay, question, how have you found driving with your caravan on the hwy?as a 1st timer do you get nervous

@@CaravanAdventureAus mines only a road caravan with old school springs and its on a 6inch chassis with little tyres a maccas speed hump will probably hurt mine , she's a 21.6 ft built in 2000 , I herd roadstar over built their chassis that's why u can get gvm upgrades easy on them 🤔 a 4inch ok strange that one , then I'd probably get that plate welded on made 3 times longer and have it both sides up and top too , beath her up big time
Why do people drive around town with their towing mirrors on with no van painful in shopping centres
We just forget to take them off sometimes. When we lock the car they go in though so shouldnt be an issue for anyone else.
Geez the whole world is in such a rush these days. There are overtaking lanes every 10 km on the Bruce highway .Let people drive to how they feel comfortable.
Hey thanks for watching!
Just to clear this up. We’re not complaining about 5-10kms/h under… we’re talking about 20 😂
Legit huge lines of cars and angry truck drivers behind them.
@@CaravanAdventureAus yeah that’s understandable. Sorry wasn’t knocking you guys. We enjoy your videos 🍻
@@4exploreaus416 all good guys!
Thanks for following along 😊😊
Will keep on cracking,
Longer fish plates would of been better.
Ranger has a good wheel base- so WDH isn’t required.
Juice 🐶 coming soon for a haircut ?
Didn’t you just have a cracked chassis 😅
what type of dog is it?
Toy Cavoodle
Not happy with your comment about the speed of people towing their van.

Sorry. But people need to drive within their comfort zone and ability.
who overtakes a road train doing more than 110 ? , obviously a poor judgment
@@djmini2numpty141 I was a truck driver for more than 25 years and seen it often. Especially in the Northern Territory. Bloody idiots.
We like lake Monduran doesn't normal smell, maybe check your deodorant 😅 we are usually there Woodgate or Agness waters 😊
Thanks for watching!
Yeah it was just one section of the lake 😂 so strange 💩
Broken chassis twice 🤔 maybe that's why people go 80kmh on the shitty Bruce highway....
Twice ? Nope just the once. I mean it is a 2004 caravan.
Don’t thank that’s a good reason for sitting 20kms under the speed limit 🤔
I’m sure we’re not the only ones who have got annoyed sitting behind a slow driver
@CaravanAdventureAus there is lots of reasons to be going under the speed limits....
In qld the law is 90km/h if your towing
Hey mate thanks for watching and commenting, there is no towing limit in Queensland just the sign posted limit.
Rubbish
@@jazzycool2950 Only thing you can tow safely at 120 is a skate board.
@@shreckm6470 Tell that to the unfortunate ones involved in an accident because of speed, load sway and impatience.
the reason why they are traveling slow they are not confident and they don't have the van loaded or setup right
Yes that could be the reason for sure.
Thanks for watching John
Yes but they don't crack their caravans either.@@CaravanAdventureAus
Your worried about people 85km/h, im more worried about that so called fish plate you have on your drawbar
Everyone's an expert 😂 thanks for watching mate 👍🏽
@CaravanAdventureAus all good mate we went around too with my d40 navara towing a caravan to its capability so 85/90 can't afford new tow rig it's about getting out there.
Main street Gawler is 50km/h doesn't mean you do it 😉😊
Heavy transport engineer welder so have done heaps of chassis modifications in my time .
Hey mate!
Personally wouldn’t have thought either of them things would be related 🤔
I think it’s fair to say we’ve all been stuck behind slow drivers and got annoyed at times
@@CaravanAdventureAus Won't be watching anymore.
Fair enough, it's just a shame the way that you spoke about it.
Hey!
Thanks for watching.
We didn’t say 90 we said 80. 20kms under the speed limit haha
Start to be click bait like rest of blogger’s 😅
Nar if you go through our video titles you’ll see there isn’t much click bait here 👍🏽
Thanks for watching 😃
The majority of peop er fool, ok, have been chewed up by croks were at ' relatively ' unlikely places. 😢😢😢
Totally disagree mate . . . @ 80-85 your a hazard and should be booked
I am more then happy for you to do 85 just be considerate and pull over every now and then to let everyone else be able to get passed you and don’t speed up in over taking lanes like you people normally do
@Mr4xl 85 in 100 zone you can't be booked 😂. The only people that have an issue with it are impatient people that should really sit back and smell the roses a bit more in life
Anyone travelling at 80-85 on a bitumen highway is a road hazard, whether towing or not.
YES YOU CAN!!!
There is no law for travelling under the speed limit. However there is a fine for " Unnecessarily impeding the flow of traffic"😂
The Bruce Hwy north is crap!! I totally understand, Safety, Safety.
Very disappointed with your comment slow drivers cause accidents. In the USA 55mph is the speed limit when towing.
Hey thanks for watching!
Just to clear this up. We’re not complaining about 5-10kms/h under… we’re talking about 20 😂

I hate people that drive under the limit, if you can’t do the speed limit cut up ya license
👍🏽
Thanks mate for watching and commenting. 🙌🏼
Are you both ok?
Hi bryce and chelsea, Chris here from Geelong and formerly Hervey Bay, question, how have you found driving with your caravan on the hwy?as a 1st timer do you get nervous
After living and travelling all over Australia I no longer waste my time visiting "places of interest". Generally they're not worth wasting your time and/or money and visited by old people with nothing else to do.
That Copper smelter is a prime example!
I'd rather enjoy nature.
Did you both go to the Bundaberg distillery tour
Yes loved it
