This week we make our way out of the tablelands into Kuranda for a walk through town, then start heading down the range towards Palm Cove north of Cairns. We make the most of the beachfronts north of cairns with walks, swims and skateboards. We fell for a cheeky scam and are gutted about it. Bryce uses the wet season downpours to give the van roof a quick wash very safely..
The captain cook highway finally opens up and we are able to make our way to a favourite camp of ours Creeks Edge Park. A few downpours save us as we didn't take any water in our tanks to find the mains water in Mossman to be shutdown, Bryce's quick thinking gets us fully topped up thanks to the car pump. While in the area we visit the Port Douglas markets. Before we head off to Bali we stay at the Lake Placid Rainforest Retreat a great location near cairns and an awesome safe spot to store our caravan.

Interesting idea travelling Queensland in the wet season. No crowds would be a huge plus. Still very beautiful also. See you when you get back from your holiday.

When I saw you standing on the gas bottles cleaning the roof I thought dont fall. We came back in Nov from a trip in the van and hubby was washing van and ute. Nearly finished and standing on the lowest step on the ladder and somehow fell and ended up with 4 broken ribs. Great episode.

Great video as usual. Travelling in the wet season is ok. Working in the wet season not so great. I did for a number of years training NPW how to identify, handle and work with venomous snakes in Broome.

I was just wondering the caravan mirrors on the car have you ever tried to put them on the bottom of the car mirror. I have the same ones and they look better to me and there is no wind noise.

We actually weirdly enjoy the wet season. It’s easier for us to travel without making bookings. All the swimming holes and waterfalls are flowing + not many people around 🥰👍🏽
Downside tho it’s too hot to camp without the aircon on 🥵 so we have to pay for power every night
I’ve stayed in Cairns and Palm Cove is my absolute favourite place and I’m dreaming of taking my van up there. Aaaaah one day!🌴🌴🌴🌺🌺🌺🍹🍹🍹I would love to be doing what you’re doing right now.😊

Honestly guys welcome to Cairns in the wet season.
It’s honestly the best time of the year.
A lot less grey nomads, & less backpackers.
You can find car parks easier.
Plus there’s nothing better than watching the rain come down.
Yes love not having to book caravan parks and campgrounds in advance 🙌🏼🌴
You guys might like to stay at Newell beach caravan park which is right on the beach just outside of Mossman on the way to wings and turn right at the golf course 🤙😎

Thanks mate! We haven't done it for a while, unfortunately for us there are so many coffee vendors working at caravan parks now it makes it challenging! We generally just stop and work for other people 👍

Hey we tee'd into the outlet line and installed a valve to isolate the ute tank, then we used the outlet tap as an 'inlet' to suck from, if you want more info send us a message on instagram 👍🏽

I don’t rate caravan parks but depends on the heat and if we need to aircon on.
Most low cost campgrounds have bathroom facilities but no water so always fill tanks before you go 👍🏽
Wiki camps is a great app for finding this kinda info too 😊
Normally on those letters they say in small print or print so big you don't notice it. Not ASIC or something similar. They basically charge for the business name and add a big admin charge on top.

Yes it’s been in their family 125 years and never had a croc.
