Making sure the tires are super hot and launching on concrete is the way to go Asphalt you have to turn down your punch a lot so it’ll hook and roll out before the power comes down
@@RCKnockout also for the kick out to the left I’m pretty sure it’s cuz of the weight on the left rear wheel from the motor I use 1 1/2 the amount of preload on the left rear to make my speed run car track straight, the squat under throttle makes the side with less squat want to kick out Which is why you’re kicking out to the left and not the right
Do you really think that the drag guys are just given an hammer all the way off the line or do you think there's slowly rolling on the throttle yet it is what. car needs
@@RCKnockout I'm not sure what the "drag slash" comes with I misspoke and should have said my drag slash build, similar to yours with the lcg chassis. The gtrs are pricey
Yes for rears, want some sag amd then load.. having never owned an RC I have no idea what type of adjustments they even have. I will get a beginner RC in the next week or so.. not sure what yet will go to Hub Hobby I think.
I once got a diff locker spool for my stock Rustler diff thinking the offroad performance would be better. Big mistake... Giving even just the slightest bit of steering input caused the rear to completely break loose. In less than one battery pack, I went back to the stock planetary gears and grease.
Recently resurfaced asphalt doesn't have good traction it's almost like a coating of black paint on top of the asphalt. Older asphalt that u can see the gravel is best.
the locked differential is definitely causing the car to spin out in my eyes. i just watched your last video running the drag slash, and it ran almost dead straight without the locked diff. theres a lot of tuning in the diff for rc drag cars to get the car to drive straight, but also accelerate as hard as possible. the tuning also varies surface to surface, partly why traxxas made the differential be able to be dropped out the bottom of the case with the pro transmission on the drag slash for ease of tuning, vs splitting the case open on the normal transmission. my local hobby shop put me onto 500k fluid on the factory diff when i asked for a spool for my 2wd slash (for dirt use but still). he said "a spool will just make you loop out like crazy and you'll never go straight. pack your diff with this 500k fluid and see if that locks it up enough for ya." i didnt really believe him until i saw this video, but the spool really does make it borderline undriveable it seems, and ive now settled on a very thick bearing grease and it does really well for my surface (dirt/clay type surface with patches of carpet). the more locked you make the diff, the less straight it will want to drive essentially (especially 2wd config). just gotta find the balance thats suits you and your needs for the 3d printed parts, ive been dabbling with this as well for my slash, look into flexible filaments vs traditional filaments like PLA/abs. flexible filaments should have the flex to take hard hits much like factory plastics. im not sure if you print your own things or not, but worth looking into for sure
Yeah you’re right….it definitely spins out easier now….did you put the 500k fluid in the stock 272 magnum diff? Or do you have the Magnum 272R? I don’t print my own stuff…..don’t think I’m smart enough to do that lol 😂
@@RCKnockout @RC Knockout I started off with 500k in the stock 2wd slash vxl diff, did really well until it all flung out. Upgraded to the pro magnum transmission (not sure which one, pretty sure is the same as the drag slash) and I just run really thick wheel bearing grease for now, and it's perfect for my hardpack dirt/clay mix. I might go to the 500k again once conditions start to get muddier. My build is very similar you your "cheapest 2wd slash" project but long arm kit and Traxxas transmission vs the proline like yours
@@Greg.Bosworth I gotcha! Sounds like a cool build!! I unfortunately just had the stock magnum diff in this one so it wasn’t really sealed to hold in diff fluid since it was just a planetary diff
Maybe because it looks like the asphalt in that parking lot has been seal coated making to slick it’s harder to keep locked up. Cool video all the same.
Haha! Super cool man! I race a turbo LS powered Mustang, and I have the same problem! Can't get traction. That's the problem you're having with those tiny little tires!
Your car is. Pushing your turning your steering too much that's why you're spinning out this is all in your control not the cars control your oversteering your vehicle
I have a locker too. I’ve noticed with my slash it’s all about the suspension. Mine tracks amazing on concrete or asphalt but it’s all over the place in sand and when I messed with the suspension (preloads ) it started to track way better. I’ll say the locker puts a lot of stress on everything though lol fried my esc on a 3s today at the beach. 🥲

Put some proline belted orange dot reaction rear tires and it'll hook.
I did swap over to the Reaction Belted Tires….not sure if they were the Orange ones? But they still didn’t hook though
A you need to check your alignment and your steering trim.
Steering trims good….I think one of the shocks isn’t compressing properly
You need a gyro bro it for sure help a lot !
Thanks for the tip!
Definitely need a gyro for help keeping the car straight on ya launchs
Try to put some more preload on the left rear
That's what I think aswell
Alright I’ll probably try that out….thanks for the recommendation 👍😉
That’s what I was gonna say. Front right is lifting, put more spring rate in the left rear
@@BrianW2979 alright thanks for letting me know 😉
Cold day is the problem. Is there dampness in that pavement.
Thanks for the insight
It's the type of concrete your on blacktop is lot more slippery.
Good to know, thanks!
Where did u get that aero kit???
On EBay
Ajc rc sells them for a few different bodies for the drag slash
My slash use to go straight and when I locked the diff same thing couldn't keep it straight even with Viagra!!
Lol 😂
Yeah it’s a major pain trying to lay the power down now that I have the locker installed
Add weight to front
Just some good ole boys, never meanin no harm, fighting the system like a two modern day robin hood!

The Traxxas gtr shocks are great for trying to dial in the drag slash.
Alright thanks…..they’re kinda expensive though….does the drag slash come with the GTR shocks? Or does it just come with the Ultra Shocks?

Rocket motor JATO the jump up
I don't race but you can use shock preload to help with the spinouts adjustment need to be fine tuned
I’m guessing more for the rear shocks than the fronts

Add a gyro

Not sure if that’s adjustable without swapping out the hub carriers?
You need DR10 tires
Are those from Team Associated?
awesome traxxas and cool run

i heard that a locked differential causes lots of drifting and spinning out.
but i think it spins out anyways without the lock
Yeah it seems to spin out both ways….so who knows
What kind or ramps are they? I have a big 10 ramp and its super bent. Cant find any ramps that are wide enough

It goes about 35mph on 2s….haven’t done a 3S pass yet….but probably 45-50mph….it has the 3500kv Velineon motor
