- Although John is probably the busiest SOG vet out there we managed to line up an hour today to chat about RT IDAHO, SOG history, SOG MIA'S, JOCKO Podcasts and the meaning of PUCKER FACTOR.
I watch anything that has “tilt” in it. Amazing story telling and amazing story’s.
Tilt is a treasure. He has done immense work telling the SOG story.

Living in the shadow of Bragg for 59 years. I have had the honor of meeting some of these veterans. They have always been humble and extremely generous. Our country can NEVER repay the sacrifice for them and their families.

Draftee in 1967 here. In my civilian career I met a few ex-ARVN soldiers who had survived the reeducation programs. Their stories were disturbing. May God bless you sir.

Those re-education programs are EXACTLY where America (and the rest of western civilization as a whole) is heading, if we don’t find a way to unf**k it quickly. And, it may very well be too late. We have what’s now two generations of worthless, co-dependent, hypocritical, entitled, stupid, OBSCENELY ungrateful, professional-victim’s who don’t have an even REMOTE capability to think for themselves, that want to usher in an grotesquely dishonest, fascistic, socialistic/communists ideology (that’s been proved not to work several times over)…..at ANY/ALL costs. And, when you ask them why, they say something brilliant that amounts to…..”Just because!”. They’ll corrupt elections, they’ll weaponized the entire judicial system, the IRS….you name it. If it’s not too late, 2024 election is our last chance before the only option left is “pitch forks and foul language” (wink wink). And, that’s a very scary place to be in history, given 60million people died fighting that EXACT SAME filth last century…..and yet, here we are.
I could listen to this guy for ever... Such an incredible memory for missions dates accounts... And thanks for the likes of you Jason and Bud. Doing this great work to save history... 👌🙏

These stories are astonishing to say the very least. I’ve heard the MACV-SOG stories a million times now, by the guys still alive to tell them, and it never gets old. Having studied (for lack of better terms) military history for so many years, I don’t like to assume ANY-one’s experiences or how they were affected by those experiences. But, I listen to what these guys went through on these missions, and not one of them talks about PTSD, massive issues with addiction, or sitting at home contemplating suicide. Yet, as of the past 30yrs, those issues, or “diagnosis’s” are all but mandatory today. So much so, it’s all-but the main topic in their interviews.
Im thankful that i saw Tilt on Jocko's podcast. I had no idea about these soldiers and the secret war. So glad that these stories and interviews are being documented for future generations to listen to
I am not a veteran. I am 77 and was rejected for service s a corpsman. But, I have studied SOG. When I come across you Mr. Meyer, I am compelled to stop and learn and in doing so, I hope I am l telling"Tilt" and all of SOG that I am humbled yet bouyed in spirit by them. Had I not been rejected I was a very experienced woodsman, marksman, stalker, tracker,huntsman, and weapons expert, and even as a medic/corpsman-----I could have helped for whatever time I survived. It's a guilt and burden .Thank you Mr. Meyer and to your comrades, as well.
