I have to say I have been watching your videos in silence, while greatly enjoying them, until now. This is by far one of the best executions on an Arma mission I think I have ever seen. Now I believe that this type of professionalism was not scripted and execution came from years of playing together, however I find it incredibly crazy that the professionalism and execution in this mission and video mirrors in great detail that of an actual SF operation. Thanks for the video.
Oh wow this was fantastic. I haven't see a game of dark business in a really long time, and this was was amazing. And I love how Bricks started the whole thing.
We heard him quite clearly. Hearing him and seeing him and being able to do something about it are all different things. Hell, I spend 5 minutes following the sound of his bird in my video of the mission while "the meet" was going on hoping to see if he dropped anyone close.
It is on the BIS forums. It is about a Spetznaz platoon and their survival. You must complete six randomly generated objectives to beat the campaign. You fight along side Russia Motor Rifles and you have support from Artillery some times. Your opponent depends on the version. I am currently playing the Chechen addon version but I know there is also a Takistan version. It is a lot of fun so far!
That was wonderfully tense. ONLY with Arma and ONLY with a group like Shacktac could I ever expect to see these kinds of situations. But the thing that was best for me? Right at the end when yo uall in the heli were sharing the stories and perspectives you each saw in individually. I'm no Arma player and I'm no Shacktac member by a long shot...but I feel safe in saying that I'm pretty damn sure that is ALL what Shacktac is about. That spirit and fun from something serious shared.
Dslyecxi - I was so impressed with your flying - I was mesmerized - the last landing near the buildings gave me a pucker factor of 10 at least. The whole video was a nail-biter. One hell of a mission - it's amazing what ARMA is capable of. Bravo
I hope I speak for more than just myself, but I absolutely love it when you record dark business. I've been looking for videos from you and CHKilroy and I just can't seem to get enough. Would like to see more of this.
That's a very good observation, Retrosicotte. More awesome memories than I could have hoped for. I don't know what my life would be like without this group :)
Just now watched this. That was pretty intense. I like how the hostages ended up being split up with Pepper not knowing where the other guy was, so trying to secure him became an extra challenge.
Lovin' these Dark Business games. Keep more of that coming. I've missed seeing it in my queue of subscription vids. Tense situation all the way through, especially at the end where you couldn't do anything but watch your friendlies secure the hostage. Great stuff.
12:48 Bricks running on the ground.. Wow this was so intense, I really go into this mission and had my fingers crossed that you'd get Bricks of that hill and you did.. Wow. I'd probably rate this as my favorite video by you so far.. :D
Yup to the morse code, although I thought the first hostage was "Pepper", who unless they had a recent operation, would be a well spoken English woman ;) The variety of the missions and the content of the vids are great - I'm very envious. Thanks, Dslyecxi.
I love you guys! When people like Kilroy and Beagle aren't fucking around with the SMAWs, you guys take this very seriously. And I'm surprised how you guys made this so serious at times, yet you still manage to enjoy it to the fullest extent.
i usually never see the guys Dslyecxi sees but check out 32:00 at the bottom of the screen. I think it's partly because this is probably my favorite video, i felt like i was playing!
Independents have two blufor hostages, opfor has an ammo truck. Indy want the ammo truck, opfor AND blufor both want hostages but for different reasons. The objective is to get the thing you want while not letting the other team capture what they want.
This was like an action movie! With some fancy editing and writing you could create this scenario into some sort of action sequence or machinima. I will "borrow" the concept for something I'm writing. :P
You seem to play Dark Business a lot, or at least, the most interesting stuff happens during Dark Business as you have quite a few videos featuring Dark Business, as do CHKilroy and Beagle
I'm not an expert by any means, but that tone tends to be processed/acknowledged faster than more "friendly" tones of voice. Since each action matters, making sure everyone knows exactly what's going on is most important. I'm sure no one thought anything of his tone. :)
god, i love what you guys do, if only i could take part... used to be part of a mil sim clan on BF3 but it fell apart due to kids... i miss those days, still keep the website in my bookmarks.
Between the TrackIR and your confidence with the controls, you were flying that amazingly well. How do you keep such good control over altitude variation when you're circling and not watching your direction of movement?
do you ever plan on making some missions (like this one) available for play on other servers (such as UO)? Or do you guys prefer not to release them? I'm sure plenty of guys would love to play this type of mission!
this was awesome, u guys should film more of these :P or maybe an even bigger and harder one haha! one question though, OPFOR doesnt hear the little bird? O.o
I've seen all of the Dark Business you guys have released, and I still wonder what happens to the hostages after they're rescued. Particularly in this case, would it have been possible for OPFOR or IND to find Pepper and re-capture her while BLU searched for Bricks? It's not likely I know, but could it happen/is it allowed?
Hey Dslyecxi why d'ya get out and get back into the littlebird when extracting people? Is it so you're not a sitting-duck in the heli or is it for other reasons?
Hey Dslyecxi, this is unrelated to this video, but have you guys ever played the Forgotten Few mission by King Nothing? It is on a smaller scale than what you guys normally do but is nonetheless a very well done mission.
Maybe a silly question, but how come they don't seem to notice you flying around in that helicopter at the start? Is it too dark/far away for them to hear and see it? Or did they simply choose not to shoot at it?
Help me out here man. I'm new to Arma. Is this Arma2? I find this game/mission absolutely insane! Is everyone in this mission a live person? Is the hostage an actual online player? This realism in incredible.
Do you have more of this missions with a small-amount of players? I love your big ones, but I would like to see more videos from missions with only some players
What prevents Independent and Opfor for making a smooth transfer? Do they get "additional points" if they secure the enemy resource without giving away theirs?
Love ShackTac videos. Anyways, OFP: Cold War Crisis player here; may I ask, would you guys recommend I get ARMA II or III? And how do each differ? Thanks in advance.
No matter how many times I see this mission, it will never get old.
The "gee I wonder" tag on the map made my day.
Easily one of the coolest gameplay vids I've ever seen, well done

First dark business I have watched in its entirety. Very well executed and all-round awesome.
Oh wow this was fantastic. I haven't see a game of dark business in a really long time, and this was was amazing. And I love how Bricks started the whole thing.

This... was even more suspenseful than any action movie ever made. Beautiful. And, better yet, perfectly executed by blue team.
ShackTac moment with no one dying? I'm impressed.
That was wonderfully tense. ONLY with Arma and ONLY with a group like Shacktac could I ever expect to see these kinds of situations.

This is one of my favorite scenarios from ShackTack, Dark business (and other hostage situations) are some of the most entertaining to watch!
I hope I speak for more than just myself, but I absolutely love it when you record dark business. I've been looking for videos from you and CHKilroy and I just can't seem to get enough. Would like to see more of this.

Bricks was genius. Kudos on everyone's part as well.
Lovin' these Dark Business games. Keep more of that coming. I've missed seeing it in my queue of subscription vids. Tense situation all the way through, especially at the end where you couldn't do anything but watch your friendlies secure the hostage. Great stuff.
That sigh, shows how nerve wrecking the mission can be :)
12:48 Bricks running on the ground.. Wow this was so intense, I really go into this mission and had my fingers crossed that you'd get Bricks of that hill and you did.. Wow. I'd probably rate this as my favorite video by you so far.. :D
Thank you for uploading a full video of a game of dark buisness, Dslyecxi
Better than a movie, no doubt.
Yup to the morse code, although I thought the first hostage was "Pepper", who unless they had a recent operation, would be a well spoken English woman ;)

most tense hostage situation yet i love these hostage missions most so much happens :)
That was a thriller, could have been a movie, to be honest.
You don't have to enjoy the game to find this fun to watch.
Theses videos have become a guilty pleasure...
i usually never see the guys Dslyecxi sees but check out 32:00 at the bottom of the screen. I think it's partly because this is probably my favorite video, i felt like i was playing!
This was probably one of the best and most entertaining video's you have done in wile
Independents have two blufor hostages, opfor has an ammo truck. Indy want the ammo truck, opfor AND blufor both want hostages but for different reasons. The objective is to get the thing you want while not letting the other team capture what they want.
That was really tense and cool, I love watching these types of special operations.
That's the way a Spec Ops mission should go! All home, mission accomplished.
All I have to say is, well done and bravo. nice to see everyone making it home with no KIA or WIA.
This mission was really cool to watch.
Great video. Dark Business is always fun to watch.
Love the *SIGH* at the very end!
This was like an action movie! With some fancy editing and writing you could create this scenario into some sort of action sequence or machinima. I will "borrow" the concept for something I'm writing. :P
Holy banana's that was pure 100% uncut awesome!!!
You seem to play Dark Business a lot, or at least, the most interesting stuff happens during Dark Business as you have quite a few videos featuring Dark Business, as do CHKilroy and Beagle
That was badass, it would be cool to see some other viewpoints though, I hope some of them recorded it.
That was freakin' awesome! Nice video Dslyecxi! :) More Dark Business!
Prolly the best one yet!!!
Poor Pepper had to stay on the island for almost the entire mission.
This was indeed an awesome run of DB. Can't wait to play it again in the future. Great video Dslyecxi.
HOLY CRAP! I was holding my breath there the last couple minutes there!!!!!
Yay! The return of my favorite game mode!
That was tense, crackin' video Dslyecxi.

That was unbelievable amazing!
By far, the best Video I've seen on youtube for a long, long time!
That was an awesome as hell mission.
Wow, that looked like a ton of fun. So damn tense. Awesome job!
god, i love what you guys do, if only i could take part... used to be part of a mil sim clan on BF3 but it fell apart due to kids... i miss those days, still keep the website in my bookmarks.
Dark Business could be a TV show.
That was intense man.
Damn
Damn, that was badass. Well done, everybody.
if every shaktac vid from now on was dark buisness i would be ok with that
Night time in Arma is more or less pitch black unless you have NVG. You really need some form of lights or NVG to see further then 5 feet or so.
And new episode of Dark Business!?
I never thought I'd see the day :D
this was awesome, u guys should film more of these :P or maybe an even bigger and harder one haha!
one question though, OPFOR doesnt hear the little bird? O.o
There's a couple of missions like this in the Arma 3 Alpha, only the factions' objectives are very different.
show more of the after of you guys talking about the stuff that happened in the mission. like at the end of this vid. love that stuff
Wow, amazing!
Well, that was tense.
hahah the end was funny it was like you saved a real dufus
Ah yea I understand, I've had to do that in Arma too but I didn't put 2 and 2 together to realise why he did it in this video :D
You guys were some Bad Dudes
I gotta ask, did you add that sigh of relief at the end? Even if you did it was absolutely appropriate for the situation.
To your knowledge, was anyone on the ground recording? That was awesome.
these are my favorite to watch
Could you give a brief description of what goals each team has? Or I guess just more of a description of what dark business is.
Great video. I'm wondering why you didn't have your man on the helicopter engage the guys at the gas station from the air?
Hey Dslyecxi why d'ya get out and get back into the littlebird when extracting people? Is it so you're not a sitting-duck in the heli or is it for other reasons?
Hey Dslyecxi, this is unrelated to this video, but have you guys ever played the Forgotten Few mission by King Nothing? It is on a smaller scale than what you guys normally do but is nonetheless a very well done mission.

That was awesome.
this was so legit, i got arma 2 and arma OA just to play DayZ but after seeing this im going to start to play the game for itself and not the mods
id love to do a mission like this its so tense
Were your buddies recording too? I would love to see some other perspectives of the mission.
Holy fuck. When I get my living situations squared away, I'm building a computer. Fuck.
Help me out here man. I'm new to Arma. Is this Arma2? I find this game/mission absolutely insane! Is everyone in this mission a live person? Is the hostage an actual online player? This realism in incredible.
Another awesome video, id love to have a go on that mission.
Now , all is clear !
Woah, that seemed like an epic run o.o'
Do you have more of this missions with a small-amount of players? I love your big ones, but I would like to see more videos from missions with only some players
I don't know if you noticed, but it looked like the ural was attempting to make out "SOS" in Morse code!
I would love to see this from Bricks' or Pepper's perspective...maybe Dslyecxi should be a captured agent next time?
Fuck I dropped my Curly Wurly
you still fly like a boss!
Precisely, it was fantastic.
What prevents Independent and Opfor for making a smooth transfer? Do they get "additional points" if they secure the enemy resource without giving away theirs?
Oh man that was bad ass))
I would love to see the actual meeting from a ground perspective, any videos from anyone of that?
Love ShackTac videos.
Anyways, OFP: Cold War Crisis player here; may I ask, would you guys recommend I get ARMA II or III? And how do each differ? Thanks in advance.
Wow, the communication flow in this video seems so much more "rough around the edges" then in your other videos....
this may seem like a weird question. but do the mission makers play in the missions they made?
Aw didnt see the last bit ;) ty
Holy shit that was awesome.
