Tried for hours to prime the tool box version to no avail, then watched this video and it’s the only one that makes you realise it goes it itself after a minute or two so yeah thanks for that 👍
Great presentation my friend very thorough and clear no crap music or anything to distract.Have made decision on buying the breifcase type after your help will sit outside my camper van and hot air duct will come in my porthole window at yhe back...one point on the muffler for the exhaust pipe...keep the pipe pointing slightly down with the dmall drainhole downwards for expelling water vapour from exhaust...otherwise perfect...God Bless from Bonny Scotland!
I will receive the brief case unit tomorrow. Glad to hear it is quieter. I hear the pump noise can keep you up at night. I intend to use it in class C and unheated garage when working there and maybe the SUV. Your video is excellent.
Nice Job of showing us not only the good and the bad but also the OOPS.. I have been looking at getting one and after having watched other reviews yours has trumped them all and finalized my decision. I agree with you on the suitcase one... thanks for your time making this for all of us..
THANK YOU for this. I bought the suitcase version and the manual had many pages of instructions about the control panel but ZERO instructions on how to assemble the thing. Very frustrating. Even the photo in the manual was a slightly different unit.
Wall mart has the Hcalory diesel heaters on sale today 3/10/23, for 89.99 for the black one and the white one, I bought both, the black one is nicely made I disassembled it and it has a heat-resistant outer shell made of durable plastic the aluminum was poured and was quality built, the inner burner tube was made of stainless steel very nice, lots of heat and runs nicely. the white one has an aluminum outer shell that is made perfectly the heater is 95% the same the only difference is the burner tube is steel not stainless and works the same with a lot of heat.
How did you get the unit to run on the Jackery with only 10amps? I've been trying to get mine going and will not with the Ecoflow river 2 pro with 10amp port also.
One big oops in their design is running the exhaust straight up. you will get an error as soon as moisture collects in that pipe. They are design to flow downhill and actually have a moisture outlet on the muffler....
I have looked into this as well and I think you can just put the muffler in the exhaust vent. Or you can bend the tube to face a downward angle when out at the camp.
I get my heater Wednesday! Super excited. Your video was helpful because I’m a girl camper and new to diesel heaters. What is the max length you’d recommend the heat output hose? I have a roof top tent I will be feeding the heat into.
If you run your exhaust hose as long as possible inside before it goes outside, you will capture more heat off the unit. Make sure the exhaust is always directed downhill so the condesation can drain our, or drill a small hole in the low spot.
Which version are you referring to? On the Briefcase style the exhaust is on the same side that the hot air is pushed out of the unit. On the Tower unit, I can see the concern. The exhaust tube can be bent/moved to any position so that the fumes won't be next to the cold air intake.
for the briefcase unit... did yours come with screws to mount the fuel tank? I have a lot of screws, but none seem to be the ones to mount the tank and I didn't see it in your video.
The ring will not connect to the end of the Spade connectors. To set it up the way I have it, you will need to cut the rings off and use a spade connection on both the DC plug and the power cable. These are the spade connections i use. amzn.to/3vLteeN
have you tried running the all in one while out in the snow? Any issues with waterproofing? Would be concerned the controller electrical connections would be at risk of water ingress.
Great video. Question on the black briefcase version, when attaching the exhaust pipe, it looks like you have the exterior pipe going ‘into’ the case pipe, and at the muffler side, it looks like you have the exterior pipe going over the muffler inlet. Is that accurate? And if so, how did you know that’s the way it should be done? I’m not the handiest of guys so the lack of instructions is throwing me off 🙂. Thx
The ends of the exhaust hose need to be bent a little in order to fit the case exhaust and the muffler. There isn't a specific end that goes in either.
Love the video, however I have a question about the power. You hooked it up to a jacket 300, how long will the power last before you need to recharge? I'm asking because I want to buy one to setup in a van? 2 things will happen, I'll either run out of fuel or run out of power thru out the night? Can you give me some insight on this? And also what power station can I go with to insure proper funtion.
If you are planning on a van build, I would look at doing more of an onboard setup. route the exhaust to the outside of the vehicle and setup an aux battery system. But if you plan on using a portable battery, look at the Jackery 1000. That should give you enough battery for a few days.
Do you use that same jackery for the suitcase heater while camping and if so, does it last at least all night? I have the same jackery and was wondering if I will need to upgrade. Thanks!
I do have the same one I did the test run on, but I also have a 1000w Jackery as well for heavy draw items. If you were to keep this on a low setting you should be able to keep the 300w with the unit. But to be safe I suggest a 500w.
I just get it and planning to put it on my refrigerator in the garage and make a hole in the wall 8"x8" filled with metal tin and the exhaust pipe go through it.Do you think that pipe and muffler can get rusty after a time.I am planning to keep that permanently.
Thank you for this video!! How does the bluetooth work if the car is in the garage? I want to be able to set the heater on from my house, when the car is in the garage. (from my window through a brick wall, maybe 20 meters)
Are you able to run the hcalory from strartup on the dc output? from what I've researched it pulls around 13 amps at the beginning and the Jackery is rated at 10 amps.

I purchased this a week ago. However I'm having trouble with leaking when I installed the nozzle into the tank. At first I thought it wasn't tight enough, but it still leaks very slowly after tightening where the line is wet with diesel. Does yours leak by any chance?
I just received mine today, i tried to put all together but it’s not working. Screen is flickering with screen showing 03 (which i think is power supply error) i tried to restart but still het the same result 😔
2 questions. Do you have a link to the knock-off yellow RotoPax? Second...do you think the heater hose is too close to the exhaust? I've ordered some wrap just in case. Great Vid...gave me the confidence to put mine together. Thx.

Vevor is a decent brand but I feel that they are about the same quality as they are all made in china. Best to hope for one that doesn’t have a defect.
For either of these, does the diesel fuel in these plastic containers emit an odor - especially if they were being transported in a car that may get pretty warm during the daytime?
I hate the fact that the fuel line is so closed to the exhaust. I just modded my CCDH; added heat wrap around the exhaust and a little more length to the bottom fuel line. I hate how close a heat source is next to a "plastic" tube.

Is there a difference in heat output between the 2 diesel heaters the toolbox version is a 5kw and other is 8Kw what’s the fuel consumption like on these
I haven't noticed a difference in heat output between the two. I still need to run a full night test on these to see how the fuel consumption is. I can say that depending on how high it is run will affect how fast the fuel is consumed.
you shoud also have a back up power, if you loose power the unit cant cool itself and can cause smoke to exit from the air intake or even damage the gasket, be aware of this, it has happened to me running on a car battery

The case does help with the noise by also the setting is also a factor. The higher you set it the more often you’ll hear the fuel pump ticking.
Its way quieter than my two vevors. I have two running most cold nights and the Vevors pump drowns out the fcallory.

If you are asking about the tube that you run to your tent then you can order a 3” insulated dryer vent tube off amazon. 12-16’ should be good.

Could you drill fuel hole in tank at the top and push tube onto the bolt (with hole in it) run tube to bottom.
With the parts that are provided, you cannot run the tube that way. You can look at getting a stainless fuel line kit and run it that way.

Because with it set up that way, after about 8 minutes, you won't have to worry about being cold anymore 🤣
