Surprised you didn’t mention the vignette where both Yoko and Vader were sent to a sort of weight loss rehab center by WWF at the time, and both guys apparently were sneaking out in the middle of the night to eat fast food. Both returned heavier than before, and my understanding was that this was a big deal to JR at the time because it just indicated that neither man had the discipline to lose as much as 20 pounds, just to show that they cared about taking care of themselves. Both guys were gone pretty shortly after that.
I heard it wasn’t just Shawn that had issues working with Vader. Two issues were he was very stiff and supposedly also didn’t like washing his gear. It was also clear by 1998 he had gained weight

To say that Vader "Ripped Cactus Jack's ear off" is extremely misleading. All Vader did was throw Cactus into the ropes. Cactus then did a maneuver he had done many times before where he flipped over the top rope while getting his head caught between the top and middle rope. Unfortunately, the ring crew had tightened the ropes too tight that night, and the ropes themselves were steel cables. Due to being overtightened, Cactus was legitimately being choked out by the ropes. Fortunately, he was able to eventually pull his head out from the ropes but in doing so his ear was ripped off.
Not to mention his diet 😂 there’s a few stories of him going number two in the ring. But a funny one I found was when he Vader bombs gorilla monsoon in 1996. This is proven so well and if anyone argues it should be noted for ALL the crap they put Vader through to create their new monster in Kane…..they have NEVER succeeded or even TRIED to repeat that for the new generation As in WHERE is our monster heel now? We have none in WWE now, if they had properly built and booked the likes of Bray and the Wyatt Family they could have easily made at least ONE of them into a great monster heel Bray, Brodie, Braun, and even Eric would easily fill the role but nope they lose EVERY major feud they are in and hardly have any character in the case of Brodie or Eric And now ALL FOUR are gone with two sadly pasted away The closets they have now is Bronson Reed and Vince actually fired him previously showing just how badly Vince books big guys ultimately
You can blame Shawn, you could blame Bret, blame the weight gain etc. BUT the inconvinient fact that everybody pretends not to know about is this, Vader was already a big name in wrestling when he got to WWF. And we all know how old Vinnie Mac feels about people who he didn't make a star. Thats what actually happened. Vader would never have reached his potential in WWF. Even if you take Shawn out of the equation. Vince and his massive ego simply couldn't handle a pro wrestler who made a big name for themselves without him pulling the strings.
Given we know the history of WWF/WWE inflating their numbers do we really know what Yokozuna's actual weight. I mean he could have been easily 400-450 but if he's a monster heel or babyface it sounds reasonable that they would have said he was 600lbs.
Seeing how he just ruthlessly broke someone's back with a power slam, I can't have much care for Vader anymore. I had not seen that before. It is one thing being green, it is one thing exchanging shoot punches, but doing a slam like that on someone who is trusting you with their body is the work only of a total piece of shit, like he himself said.
Hey, if a big smelly guy was being super stiff with you always leaving your stinky and possibly lose out on money, would you keep working with him? The guy was dangerous. Many people refused to work with him, not just Shawn Michaels. Many other should of. If he wasn’t so stiff and washed himself he would have lasted longer. Great big guy but too dangerous and too stiff.
Well Bret Hart, Jake Roberts also said about smell. So Vader ruined it by himself, to be not hygienic as he should be. Also Vader was not save to work with, he could not fake his punches entierly. And his bombs were danger.
I love how Vader not working out in WWF was apparently down to Shawn Michaels simply because people hang on Jim Cornette’s every word. Vader himself said in a shoot interview that WWF management/creative decided to change Survivor Series in 1996 from being Shawn/Vader 2 to Shawn/Sid because they blamed Vader for the poor house show gates and PPV buys/Raw ratings in his feud with Shawn. Vader then went on to feud with Undertaker and was dominated then came the on air incident in the Middle East with the TV presenter which killed his WWF career completely. Shawn AND Bret complained about working with Vader BUT never refused to work with Vader, reality is WWF and WCW or Japan were both completely different and after the initial buzz of Vader coming in wore off Vince McMahon got bored so killed his main event run and used the poor house show gates and buys/ratings as an excuse plus Vince will NEVER let someone who’s not his creation be on top.
JR said "at least on one occasion" (implying probably more) Shawn said he refused to work with him because his gear stunk so bad. Gerald Briscoe bought some Febreeze, sprayed it all on Vader's gear, and let it air out. Shawn also hated how hard Vader yanked his hair.
If Vader had been the Mastodon Vince would have probably made him champion. But the Mastodon is still a really stupid name… only a little better than Mantaur or Chilly McFreeze.
@@VeryStupid4547 Shawn also hated taking stiff punches. And Vader was the stiffest puncher ever. If you can’t take your face getting dirty, don’t play with the big boys.

We have none in WWE now, if they had properly built and booked the likes of Bray and the Wyatt Family they could have easily made at least ONE of them into a great monster heel
Bray, Brodie, Braun, and even Eric would easily fill the role but nope they lose EVERY major feud they are in and hardly have any character in the case of Brodie or Eric
And now ALL FOUR are gone with two sadly pasted away
The closets they have now is Bronson Reed and Vince actually fired him previously showing just how badly Vince books big guys ultimately
I was so scared of that guy
All he had to do was take a bath and wash his clothes.
Didn't build him to win any championship in WWF. Shame on Vince and his disasters . Boycott Vince and his now WWE.
You can blame Shawn, you could blame Bret, blame the weight gain etc. BUT the inconvinient fact that everybody pretends not to know about is this,
Vader was already a big name in wrestling when he got to WWF.
Biggest waste of a good performer: Vader in WWF, or Bret Hart in WCW?
Given we know the history of WWF/WWE inflating their numbers do we really know what Yokozuna's actual weight. I mean he could have been easily 400-450 but if he's a monster heel or babyface it sounds reasonable that they would have said he was 600lbs.

Seeing how he just ruthlessly broke someone's back with a power slam, I can't have much care for Vader anymore. I had not seen that before. It is one thing being green, it is one thing exchanging shoot punches, but doing a slam like that on someone who is trusting you with their body is the work only of a total piece of shit, like he himself said.
Vader should have gone over at King of the Ring 1996? Does not compute.
Was Mick Foley angry with vader for taking his ear?
No, he was annoyed at WCW for not using it onscreen towards their feud though
GOD GIVE US BACK VADER AND WILL GIVE U JOE MACK !!!
Remember Nikki Bella Didn't know he was dead
@@NateTheGnat Yeah, I left that out on purpose. Sometimes my comments are too long. Foley didn't mind how stiff Vader was, but even he said HBK didn't like it.
@@NateTheGnat Yeah, Vince is... Different.
There seems ro be a common theme: Shaun Michael's. He's a spoilt kid who can't see past his own nose, but shame on Vince for acquesing to all his childish demands.
Big Van Vader was a dominant wrestler before coming to WWE/F, he was legendary...we knew he was going to fade away once he wrestled for WWE/F, that is where established wrestler's careers go to die...remember Terry Taylor, Steve Keirnes (Skinner), Sting, Dallas Page and Kronik, just to name a few...all mentioned could of been, should of been, would of been...WWE/F is not the only place to wrestle, true wrestling fans will know you...
A lot of guys were screwed over because of HBK and his buddies.
It’s no one’s fault but Vader I understand why Shawn would get mad
Should have been WWE Champion.
Vader has no one to blame but vader. He knew he was working stiff, and hurting people. and he knew he smelled like shit. He was acting like a solo act in a team sport
When Shawn stomped his head he should of gotten up and threw him a beating live on PPV. if that happened we would still be talking about it and HBK would of been finished in America
Vader was a bad ass in Japan, WWE fucked up with him
Vaders career was better than most
