We found that place in the middle of the night. 😂 the old man was very sweet and has nothing. When we were there he had no lights in his little cabin. We happen to have the batteries he needed for his lamp. And helped him get his old ford started so he could go to town. ❤
Logging trucks can be scary, they don’t care if you’re a single guy or a nice family out on a road trip, they’ll keep driving the same way. We agree with not watching the news, it’s so negative that it can have an effect on your day. You guys are having one heck of an adventure and we’ve enjoyed coming along!
We've encountered so many on our travels, but this one was close. There was maybe a foot to spare between the truck and us going in the ditch. Glad you guys are enjoying our trip up North Island 🙂. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
The Hills have eyes Lol. Great video guys, the first water campsite looked like the one but I know you would have had to back track. Totally agree with you Holger on the negative news the world has become pretty crazy these last several years. I have a strong belief that things are about to turn around for the better. God is Moving 🔥 Mean while we'll all stay in the woods. 😂😂😂😂
Thank You! Yes, we really liked the first site, but it would have been about an hour of backtracking and it would have been too much to do in one day. We have faith that things will turn around as well. The last four years have been beyond chaotic. But we also believe that these chaotic times have made us stronger and have allowed us to build connections with amazing people that otherwise we may have never gotten to know, whether that may be in person or just by sharing our little adventures. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Thank you for taking us on another adventure. San Josef Bay is truly beautiful. Really appreciated your comments re the news. And the wolves brought back memories from Campbell Lake in the early 50s when a pack of wolves would follow us from fishing spot to camp. They were curious, never threatening, and their howling and yipping was part of the wilderness experience.
What cool trees! Beautiful beach! We agree with you Holger, Walter and I quit watching the news a couple of years ago. For example our son, from Edmonton, yesterday told us how bad the flooding was in Vancouver lol Would be cool to go at low tide and see all the little Islands. Cant wait to see where ya ended up until then, Cheers Walt & Joanne
Thanks, guys! We stay away from the news as much as possible. We never intentionally watch the news (don't have cable, either). Life is just better that way 🙂. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Hey Holger, never tried airing down the tires but that makes good sense. As for "Good News", it doesnt sell, sadly. I agree, I rarely get too caught up into the news. Half of it is BS thats exaggerated to serve someones agenda. I find myself , when I do watch the news, getting caught up in worm holes that bring me auch anxiety. 18:24 yikes... be bear aware indeed. Thanks for another great video. See you soon my friends .
Airing down really helps on rough FSR/Logging Roads. We do not always air down, only when we get rattled through on rougher roads. 100% agree that good news does not sell. It's also more opinions than news these day. We do stay away from the news as much as we can. We think that if there is something that we absolutely need to know, we'll know. Thank You as always for your support. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Another good one. I too find news extremely negative, so I just avoid it and find uplifting things to watch. Your channel fits the bill nicely, as do others I follow. Those trees were amazing 18:00 . Loved the beach, what a great destination. Well done guys, very enjoyable to watch. 👍
Thank You, Daryl! The trees grew out of a nursing log. We usually see one, maybe two trees growing out of a nursing log, but never have we seen five before. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Great video. You found the logging truck scary? That wasn't even one of the big ones, :) Put yourself in the shoes of a motorcycle rider coming up on one of those things!! LOL I agree with you about the news, I rarely watch it for that exact reason. The sounds of wildlife at night, so awesome. You're so lucky. San Jo...sure is beautiful up there!!
@@Madpositiveoutdoors oh nothing negative, that’s for sure. Just trying to acknowledge that yes they are scarey and that the bigger ones are even more so when you’re riding on a motorcycle. I do apologize if this comment came across as negative or something else.
@@Crittermoto all good bro. Yes the challenger trucks that were build in port Alberni were the biggest. A tribute to their builder John Casnave. He’s a true logging legend and still alive I believe. Cheers
I guess we really don't want to run into the really big ones 😂! That thing coming at us was certainly the biggest one that we had seen so far on our travels. There was not much room to spare. We never intentionally watch the news (don't have cable, either). If there is something that we are meant to know, we'll know. Hearing the wolves was a special moment! All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Beautiful beach, it’s on our list of places to see! The hills have eyes, lol! Just said to Greg right before that comment that the place looked creepy as hell! The spot you picked had better vibes ha ha! Agree with you on the news, just depressing! Thanks for giving us something else to watch! Cheers guys! Erin and Greg
Thanks, guys! Yeah, that place just did not feel right! The other site was just about five minutes down the road. Make sue to time your hike right and get to the beach during low tide, though 😂. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
San Josef Bay is beautiful. My partner, myself and two kids under 6 hiked from San Josef Bay up Mt. St. Patrick then on to Lowry Bay. A memorable trip some thirty odd years ago now.
Great video and scenery. Good eyes on the logging trucks. On the news, your right. Bad news is everywhere. That's why your escapes are so mental health important for the sole. Imagine the positive impact your videos and adventures have on those without the means to escape the constant negative info bombs. Thanks for sharing and enjoy.
Thank You very much for your kind words! Mental health is such a big aspect of why we do what we do. If we can provide just a little bit of an escape for those that are not able to to do what we do, then it makes it even more special! All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Awesome times …the campsite gave us the same vibes we stumbled in the same yard on our travels on the island! A man followed us after we left and caught up to us which made us even more sketched out! He explained to us how he purchased the rec site years ago sure was one of our creepiest adventures. That beach is awesome can’t wait to visit again. Mike N Sheila OV the North ✌️
this place used to be remote and mostly quiet. now it's super busy most the time. weddings with big parties are commonplace. social media blew it up and now it's all the rage.
Narrow road to have big logging trucks passing you😱🚛 The first spot didn't look that clean either. Don't eat those white berries! Yep, don't watch the news. They really like to sensationalise everything. We also hear about things that we don't need to. Then we get more and more stressed. Plus a lot of it is not news anymore, it's commentary meant to excite our emotions. Beautiful beach there😍
We later found out that you actually have to pay at the first site 🙄. Well said on the news 👍! It is nothing more than commentary and opinions to sow division. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
"funky looking trees" Yes aren't they unique...they grew out of a nurse log which has rotted away and left them high in the air...the roots are strong.
They are pretty cool! We have never seen a nursing log growing five new trees. Usually we see just one or two growing out of a nursing log. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
