West mein punjabioke wedding mein zyadatar sab log head par dupatte rakhtey hai, I've seen in London
West also had norms to cover head, see nuns.. but they got done with it. through modernisation. Also in India as well in south India, women don't cover head.. so it's not an Indian vs western thing.. certain custom changes with time every where.
