In this video I remember years ago when I worked in a FRENCH restaurant called Les Escargot and the EXECUTIVE CHEF was DANIEL DUFORT and he introduced me to Escargots 3 different ways and I also remember going to Miami and they love them and a couple of years later I got the recipe from my sister who is a nurse and it some time to get used to them and I know where to buy them at a retail store and they are actually very easy and cheap to make and you should see what FRENCH restaurants charge and I can make them at a fraction of the cost but it's not for anyone like eating PATE or FOIE GRAS very expensive but I know how to make them and if you go to a gourmet store you will find out as I have had to make these items but you better know what you are doing as I am French trained under 4 chef's and they taught me well
I love these things, and this is exactly how I love them. Never made them at home, though. I have to find a store that carries them (I’m in Florida and I hear Asian markets sell them), but I wouldn’t bother with the shells. For those of you who don’t know, you’ll find many snails sold unshelled (yes, they’re dead), and people buy the shells for presentation, and reuse them. Instead, they sell little plates with holes in them to hold the snail and other ingredients. Much easier.
Snails are easy enough to gather yourself, you just need to make sure they're clean of any chemicals they've eaten by starving them for a few days, then give them a carrot for a couple days until their droppings turn orange
Seriously, try Walmart, in the aisle with canned fish. They carry them here in Canada. You tend to find the smaller ones in grocery stores. They are less expensive, I just stuff two in the hole or mushroom caps. This was lunch today.
I am pregnant and craving this like crazy why I don't know it looks so yummy I have only tried it once but I cant help it just looks so delicious just watching this made my mouth water...lol
Having French blood and being unable to understand his recipe is so sad. This is my favorite dish, and I really want to cook it. There are no restaurants in Massachusetts that I could find that serve escargot
