The snails farmed in this video are not the Roman Snail (Helix pomatia) aka "Escargot de Bourgogne", referenced by the narrator near the beginning of the video, but the smaller and faster growing Speckled Garden Snail (Cornu aspersum), which in France are "Petit Gris Escargots". The white footed snails shown at the start are color mutants of C. aspersum.

@@AugustHTj The snails producing the slime used for cosmetics are Cornu aspersum.
      ruclips.net/video/GVfChPG0dlM/видео.html
Here's a link to a video on an introduced population of Helix pomatia in Michigan (north Midwestern US). They burrow into the soil to overwinter, and thus survive the cold in this area very well.
      C. aspersum is roughly half the mass of H. pomatia, and hibernates attached to the trunks of trees, on walls, and in other exposed locations, so it is much less tolerant of cold winters. It is not considered as good eating as H. pomatia, but is faster to reach market size. C. aspersum often has a very pretty patterned shell, while H. pomatia has an unpatterned shell (except for the growth annuli) in varying shades of tan to medium brown.

Once upon a time there was a fancy French restaurant. Out back the chef had a garden. In this garden lived a snail. Each & every morning, the chef would come out into the garden & pick only the best snails for that nights menu. The snail in our story wanted for all the world to be selected because it would prove that he too was the best. But, morning after morning he was passed by. Finally, this snail had had enough. So, he went downtown to the Cadillac dealership where he bought himself the biggest, longest white Cadillac on the lot. Then, he told the salesman to take it to the service department and have them paint a big red S on both doors. The salesman did as he was instructed & when he delivered the car to the snail he asked what the red S was all about. Well, said the snail, when I drive down the street I want everyone who sees me say-
‘Man oh Man, look at that S car go’

The slime might be a useful additive as a lubricant to engines or other mechanical moving parts. Perhaps not engines, but moving parts operating at lower temperatures. It may even be useful for sports equipment, especially water sports and winter sports (such as kayaking or skis/ snowboards). Maybe even health applications, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disorders like ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease. There are loads of untapped markets for the mucin product. Thanks for the great video, Noal Farm.

      Watch the video carefully.
Snails like moist environments. Can you provide a large amount of clean water to keep them happy all year? Do not use dirty water, your snails will die and your customers will get sick.
How will you deal with hot weather? Can the snail boards be moved inside during the summer?
How will you keep predators away from the snails? Fencing, netting, hunters?
What kind of local plants will feed the snails? Watch the wild snails to see what they like to eat.
Who will buy from you? Are there religious or cultural laws against eating snails?
Start small. Harvest a few wild snails, cook them and give them as free treats to friends. Their reaction will determine if you can sell them or not.
When you start your business, you will work 14 hours a day. Always get paid when delivering. Someone will pretend to be your friend to get free stuff, but will not pay you.
      Good luck.
