You need one of those in the states. The natural hot tub is really interesting. You two are on top of your game. The rest of the world is a lot more conservative with water than we are normally in the states. A Van is better with two adults and possibly younger kids. A rainy day or two with four adults... meeh. REALLY like what Eric and Ashley are doing.... Your research is showing in a very positive way. There are getting to be a lot of hack travel/food vlogs, instead of just sitting on your reputation, you two are having a growth spurt. I don't know if you have kicked it up a notch or if it is a couple of notches. Really glad to be a patron. I hope that you can actually fill your Patrion limits and be able to depend on them.
Now this is definitely something I would definitely do! I love the whole vibe that New Zealand has! The camping, the bbqs, the food! Ugh get me here! 🇳🇿

Such a cool deal on the camper van :) You can get super super cheap car rental deals in the U.S the same way, driving from Florida up North or vice versa in Dec/March.
The issue with those one-way free rides is that you only get a few days to do it because they want to transfer the vehicle as soon as possible. So you can't really enjoy everything. I don't know if you're gonna stay longer in the South island after, but I really recommend that you take your time, there is a LOT to do. Just buy the NZ Frenzy South Island book (or e-book) it's got great information for travellers who like both mainstream and off the beaten path stuff. It even tells you how crowded it is.
If you haven't gone past it already, lake Taupo is epic. A 70 mile long volcano (extinct!) that has filled with water and had phenomenal trout fishing. Loads of outdoors activities around that area.
The big museum in Christchurch is a must see. Its built on rubber shock absorbers to counteract earthquakes...

Try Opoutere camping. It’s heaven, with beautiful ocean waves and 5 km of sandy beach + a small birds reservation. 🙂

Love the Coromandel! My favorite place in the north island. Highly recommend walking out to Cathedral cove. Also, visit Whangamata, walk out to an island from the beach at low tide. Also hire a kayak and go out to donut island (island with a beach in the middle, row in through a cave to get inside). If you are in Whangamata best food is at Port Road Project 👌 Love the vlog and glad you are enjoying NZ. Love my country 😊

The catch with the free van is you also need to get to the final destination in 5 days which does not let you explore much. I suggest taking all valuables passports, cash etc with you. There are many opportune thieves about.
True! But we're actually renting another car after we drop the van off. And tbh, 5 days in such a small space is long enough 😂

You can get Wifi boosters for your vans,they cost around $300,but totally worth it,always picks up Wifi.
Not sure how far vlog back but please check out Rere body boarding waterfall near Gisbourne looks most fun ever!!! Also if get to far North Queensland Australia Tully river white water rafting will be a blasting
