      The food taste funny,not just bcoz it's not good in the airplane,but bcoz of the altitude and the lack of humidity in your nose,due to high altitude.
      I saw this information when Jamie Oliver wanted to prepare the meal for astronauts on ISS.

    The Narita Express train which you accidentally got on has only reserved seats which was why the conductor knew right away that you were on the wrong train and asked to see your ticket. When they do their walkthroughts they know which seats have been booked and which haven't. I'm a bit surprised that you didn't know about the Narita Express before getting to Japan as its one of the easiest ways to get from the airport to the center of Tokyo and vice versa.

    I think you may get into the same "trouble" when you attempt to fly from Japan to Hong Kong. Last December, my mom - a Canadian passport holder but also a legal resident of Hong Kong - attempted to board a flight from the Hiroshima airport to Hong Kong. She was asked about her legal status in Hong Kong. So, she pulled out her Hong Kong ID card to show to the airline staff. The problem is that she booked the plane ticket according to how her name was shown on the Canadian passport. Her name was spelled differently on her HK ID card. The airline staff eventually let her go after they were satisfied that the Hong Kong ID card and the Canadian passport were issued to the same person. I was told that many airlines these days don't want to assume the responsibility for flying passengers who may not be able to enter the destination country back to from country.
    Just prepare your ticket the night before you leave!
    Also, I am a planner. I can't imagine you guys entering a country without knowing exactly when you could be leaving and how. :P It would have driven me bananas.

    There is a really good reason why the Australian Customs is like that... Because Australia is an Island and we have very rare wild life and plants, we do not have the same diseases as other countries. So they have to be very strict and behave that way to make sure our country doesn't suffer from people bringing in anything harmful that could be damaging to our environment. Often people from non english speaking countries want to bring in medicines, foods and meats that are banned in Australia, so many of them know this but they think they can get away with it. Watch Australian boarder security and you will see how often this happens.

      I got the impression that these guys were in transit,hence they only experienced security.I may be wrong, however regardless Quarantine look after the food and Border Force other. In saying that if you are found to do the wrong thing and there is a language barrier,you will not come across this until bags are searched. Whether we are discussing security, Quarantine or Border Force,for the most part there is no need to be rude. However,some of the tour groups can be a nightmare and unless you become assertive many will break security protocols,hence hard to tell scenario here.

    I think rudeness of airport security must now be part of the training. I have had it also in Berlin and US Fort Worth. I suppose it is the huge volume of people going through which means you occasionally get irritating or angry or rude travellers. So over time it rubs off on the security who then become as obnoxious.

    • @Mwoods2272
      @Mwoods2272 5 лет назад +2

      It's mostly about the entitlements in English speakers. Most native English speakers feel that everyone should speak and understand English. Even when traveling abroad, they get mad and ask why people don't speak English.

    • @TT-zd6nr
      @TT-zd6nr 5 лет назад +2

      @@Mwoods2272 I am not that convinced as Australians and most of America speak English. Also in Germany, security seem to speak English which is why they are employed in that role. I accept that English speakers abroad can be arrogant but that is a totally different situation.

    • @Mwoods2272
      @Mwoods2272 5 лет назад +3

      I am an American living abroad and whenever I go back to visit America, the TSA are so rude to foreigners and get irate because visitors don't speak English. In Germany, the custom officials don't expect you to speak German and get mad when you speak English and no German. European countries are so near to other countries that speak different languages, it's more tolerant of visitors. Americans have a saying, "You're in America now speak English"

      The rudest I've always found was coming into LA, it's funny because they have nice welcome signs when you get up to them and then they Savage you every time ! But there is a really good reason why the Australian Customs is like that... Because Australia is an Island and we have very rare wild life and plants, we do not have the same diseases as other countries. The scenery is great and the island has lots of great native Hong Kongese, some hippy/revolutionary types and restaurants that serve traditional Cantonese food and are v friendly. There's also a sick beach there called Lo So Shing Beach that's the best in Hong Kong IMO.

    Hey guys glad you're down and bedded for the night. Just one point for when you get up ,you say that the TSA equivalent in ozz is the rudest you've found . I take it that you have not been through Atlanta in a while they are so bad that we now book to come in Miami FL. when we travel to the UK. It means that when we get there we have an extra two hours drive to get to my brothers home but as he used to fly a lot he has no problem going out of the way. Wish I could be there to would love to have real sushi for a change. Be safe and enjoy.

      As an Aussie, I’ve found the US security to be so rude...also no personality whatsoever....except the odd one.

    You should try to hang out with John from Only In Japan for a bit while in Japan.

    So glad to see you separated from Josh and Ashley. I can go back to watching your videos. I like it when it's the two of you talking to the camera.

      While I'm sure Josh and Ashley are very nice, I have to agree that I prefer to See Eric and Allison by themselves as well :)
      Sure, a meetup for a day or so is fun, but a whole month seems a bit too much.

      @ Donna, I 100% agree. Eric and Alison have a different vibe. Josh comes across as a know it all and Ashley screeches all the time, it's impossible to watch. 2 very different channels.

    Qantas does pretty good food in my experience.
    New Zealand border control is even worse than Aus, at least the aussie guy laughed at my marmite pot!

    Trans-Tasman flights are basically considered an extension of domestic flights, so food on those flights won't be as good as the true international flights (like to Japan)... :)
    When and for how long in Hong Kong...? :/
    (I'm passing through on my way back to Australia after a month in Balkans)
