I'm a bit jealous that you all get to experience nature without worries like my family did, but I'm also thankful that you get to experience it. I love how many different foods your kids eat. I’m not picky at all, and I introduced EVERYTHING to my kids when they were little, but now they’re 11 and 14 and so picky! Makes me crazy because they’re missing out on so many amazing foods and ingredients!

Haha as a Michigander I can safely say that out of all of the Great Lakes….Erie is probably the worst to swim in. Though, none of them are great to swim in (they are either COLD, rocky, or murky depending on the area)….but they are all sure beautiful. 😊

When I watch the four of you I see such amazing interaction between you all. I know we only see a bit here and there but it’s not hard to tell when a family is close knit and love each other. Growing up our neighbors had a pool and we would play the same kind of game as you with the football. Honestly as an adult my brother and I had to play it a few times to show his kids how to play 😂 that was fun! Anyway I hope your summer was as wonderful as this video seems. I never considered a trip to NZ before but after what you’ve shared with us through your videos I’m sure going to look into it! Lastly I am so sorry about the passing of your mother Sam. This is great. Some day you will look back at these films as memories of how young your children were in those days. Having easy access to filming in these days is completely different from when I was a kid about Atlanta's age and my dad would take home movies on an 8mm spring-wound film camera. When we returned from our vacations, we would need to send the film in for processing. When it came back, (perhaps two weeks later), we would set up our projector and screen to watch ourselves once again. Today, it's point and shoot, with instant playback. Sixty years difference in technologies that, at the time, were the cutting edge for home use. My brother took all of our old films and had them transferred into a DVD so we could watch them today. I never see my dad, as he was the official photographer. But to see us kids at that young age makes me feel old. Also, so many people in the films are now long gone. All of my grandparents, most of my aunts and uncles, one of my brothers and my dad. My mom is still with us, but she is in a nursing home because she has dementia and can't remember much any longer. For example, I spoke with her the other day on the telephone, and although I've been married 37 years and have four grandchildren of my own, she will still ask if I'm married, or if I like my work, although I've been retired since 2010. It's so sad, yet I'm happy that she's still alive.

I miss NZ a LOT, and had the best time in the town where you live, but admittedly, it was usually a break on the way to Wellington. I prefer it to Wellington. Great place to visit, but I couldn't live in that old crater.

That lake looks like one we used to visit in the summer when I was a kid here in California during the 70’s. Everything’s different now though, we didn’t have as many people in the state then. I absolutely love this video, guys! With all the wonderful places and things we have here in the US, I have to say I believe you all are truly living in paradise on earth! Absolutely breathtaking! And Kylo sure has the life my dog can only dream of having. The only time we allow him to run "freely" is in the dog park that's basically a fenced in area of about an acre or two (sometimes 5 when he gets to go to the one in Ft. Worth). That is a lovely video! The editing and dog-cam were brilliant bits of filmmaking, and it was wonderful to see a bit of YOUR lives, since you react so much about the US and other cultures. I miss NZ a LOT, and had the best time in the town where you live, but admittedly, it was usually a break on the way to Wellington. I prefer it to Wellington. Great place to visit, but I couldn't live in that old crater.

I live in the US and where I am located there is absolutely nothing around my house but woods. Seeing the lake and mountains in the back make me want to go on a vacation there, hopefully I get the chance to go some day.

Its so beautiful there...When I was growing up in the 50s my grandma ( who was born in England ) was was friends with a young woman from NZ They would exchange letters and Pam came to America for a visit and I was in awe of her as I was just a teenager and she was so stylish. Loved her stories that's probably why I'm so interested in your family. Love watching all of you having fun together.The water is so crystal blue and clear..Enjoyed watching a day in your life. That lake looks like one we used to visit in the summer when I was a kid here in California during the 70’s. Everything’s different now though, we didn’t have as many people in the state then. Your neighborhood looks like a lot of suburban neighborhoods here our state, very beautiful indeed. Kylo cam was awesome btw. 😎

I absolutely love this video, guys! With all the wonderful places and things we have here in the US, I have to say I believe you all are truly living in paradise on earth! Absolutely breathtaking! And Kylo sure has the life my dog can only dream of having. The only time we allow him to run "freely" is in the dog park that's basically a fenced in area of about an acre or two (sometimes 5 when he gets to go to the one in Ft. Worth). I hope you all realize, though, what a truly special, blessed, and wonderful life you have there. Please definitely include more of these videos. We are all mesmerized and captivated by you all. Great video! Question…are the kids always home-schooled or is it because of Covid? Looks awesome. The closest I’ve been to NZ is Australia. I’ve been to Sydney and Melbourne. A once in a lifetime trip! 😃

Haha the lake they're swimming in is the caldera of one of the largest dormant super volcanos on the planet. No sharks in lakes.
