After watching the horror movie Abigail yesterday, I’m so glad they used the overture of swan lake throughout the film just to pay tribute the original Dracula movie.
I always love this opening credit music to this 1931 Dracula film starring Bella Lagosi which in fact this film never had its own official original soundtrack. hmm. i wonder why cause to me it should have.
The reason it has no official soundtrack is because all music heard in the film is sorce music, with no original scoring. This opening music is Tchaikovski's Swan Lake for instance.
@@amazenfilmspassages is a good album… him and Ravi Shankar… but yes nothing beats the original Dracula in any ways shape or form as far as alterations go 👻
Yes - those title designers must have done it in the hurry! I also happened to own the 1999 Special Edition VHS with the then-new Philip Glass score, especially the new main title theme!
I love this music and opening.

Makes sense, since that movie was originally going to be a remake of Dracula’s Daughter
Just saw it last night and immediately knew it was a vampire!
the inspiration for the batman symbol
No wonder Dracula thought Batman respected his legacy.
The best of all the Dracula movies with the Hammer Production Dracula with Christopher Lee second .
Aaaaaaaahhh.. The Restored Version that was Made in Honor of Universal's 100th Anniversary.
Perhaps they ought to correct the mis-spelling on the first screen? President is not spelled "Presient."

Yes it is
Karl Freund was also a director; among his works was the Boris Karloff classic “The Mummy”…which also had “Swan Lake” for title music.🎶

The version I watched has more dramatic, creepier string music in the opening. Does anyone know why their are 2 different versions?
One is composed by someone named Philip Glass. And supposedly that one sucks. But this is the original, the one that uses Swan Lake.
@@amazenfilms thanks. Yeah he did the Candyman theme and some other movies I hear . I actually find his opening more fitting
@@amazenfilms thanks for your input, i've been trying to find the artist for ages.

YES! I saw it . I guess most other viewers didn't catch that as well.?
"CARL LAEMMLE, PRESIENT"
Can I hear music from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake
Because it is _Swan Lake._ That's what they used.
@@DanGamingFan2406 They've also used that particular number for their other horror movies like The Mummy and Murders in the Rue Morgue.
The Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Bela "Dracula" Lugosi.... 🦇
The same opening for The Mummy.
And Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932)
@@Logan_Elkins Wow i didn't know that i have to check that movie out this Halloween.
@@jorgelopez-pr6dr I didn't remember that i must watch that movie again.
If you can, can you please upload the one with the Philip Glass-composed main title theme? Please and thanks!
