Boy, really like the style of that young guy playing the acoustic lead.
That’s his son Eddy - as good a guitarist as has ever lived.
Billy Joe Shaver and Townes Van Zandt both told it like it is from life experiences.
Both from North Texas
Eddie shaver was one of the best country guitarist i ever heard . On that Fender stratocaster he always played "right in the pocket " never overplayed ...just a great style . On that big box Martin equally as good .
I felt so bad when Eddie passed. It hit Billy Joe really hard.
loved it when Eddie played with him RIP Eddie miss you
Country blues and blues sure loss a talent that was largely unknown at that time.
been there, done that. Billy Joe writes stuff people can idendify with. PURE down home good!
As much as I worship--Waylon ,who single-handed brought to light the pure genius of Billy Joe's songwriting by recording --1 song a whole album of his compositions I must say nary a soul can do BJS songs better than the man what writ 'em!
Is that Billy's son on guitar?
And nice backups from bass man!
Not a nary one. 🤠
Marty if i give my soul
Nary a soul, brother
Appreesheeate yer guud gramur!! God bless and be safe!! Keep smilin' 😉
The best version of this music I seen so far. Flawless song and flawless execution
i like Jerry Lee Lewis's version the best, you should check it out.
Tell me please, is there anyone else who has now or ever sounded like Shavers voice? I cant even describe it.
Thank you Billy
God I love his voice.
All us Songwriters have been there Billy Joe.
true king of Texas
American gold.
They just don't make um like this anymore.
RIP sir🙁
Another massive "Thank you so much Hug" lol..Walter!! BJS, my kinda guy!!!
WHOEVER SAID "EASY COME, EASY GO " NEVER HAD TO WORK FOR A LIVING!
Este cantante y su tema es extraordinario. Lo descubrí en 1973. Formó parte de una referencia en uno de mis libros. Fue mi homenaje. Thanks Billy Joe desde Buenos Aires (Argentina).
One of a kind!
AWESOME!!!!
Eddie sure had chops on that ax 👍🏻
Oh my
This was written by Danny Finley (Panama Red)!
Wiki says he was co-writer with BJ Shaver on "Bottom Dollar"
@@KStewart-th4sk That's what Panama says, too. He says the best thinbg Billy Joe ever did was "... help me finish Bottom Dollar." I detect a note of sarcasm in that comment.
Good grief you would think I could spell "thing." ;)
nice
who is the lead guitar player? he's amazing too!!
The lead guitar player is Billy Joe Shaver's son Eddy Shaver....a tremendous musician, sadly,Eddy died on Dec.31st,2000 hours before a show in Waco,Texas...He is missed....
Can't pick any cleaner...amazing talent Eddy was...I saw Billy Joe in NYC years ago and he talked about losing Eddy..that always stuck with me. God Bless you Billy Joe for keeping on...one day you'll be together up yonder
In the early 90s Shaver got some publicity on account of Billy returning to play with the son he had abandoned. That story made me buy Tramp on Your Street (back when you had to buy music to hear it) and since then I have tried to hear everything this man has written. RIP Eddie
“Been there done that”?? C’mon. That’s a hackneyed phrase Holmes
L
