    I am portuguese and i loved your version of "bifanas". My friend does a version with seitan and it works too. Thank you for all your recipes! Love from Portugal ❤❤

    It was a terrible mistake to watch this before bedtime! How can I be hungry again?! I love mushrooms and crusty rolls, so this looks super delicious to me, and I'll try it the next time I can find oyster mushrooms. Thanks for posting 🙂

      Love me a meatball sub lol but zucchini meatballs? I currently have a bunch of frozen shredded zucchini that I was going to use for a chocolate zucchini cake but maybe it will become meatballs instead lol

      @@TastyThriftyTimely zookinee, fava juice, bread crumbs, spices, vegan Parm.. squeeze the shredded zucchini in a tea towel to get the water out.. coat in more bread crumbs then fryum mup in some good olive oil!!

      @@TastyThriftyTimely I'm absolutely sure Alison would accommodate a vegan friend with some of the best vegan food that friend had ever tasted. 😀So, I don't think you're too far off from that. But even burning an onion while trying to caramelise it still smells really darn good.

    ooh you can cook lupin beans !! i really need your book omg! boss, money please !! i love lupins !!! i've been eating them at my grand-parents all the time 🤣 but just like that, raw without the skin, nice to see we can use it differently !

      Haha yes I love having them like that. These are pretty much the same I just season them with some pimenta, parsley, and lemon to jazz them up a bit!

    Awww Happy Portugal Day 🇵🇹 We are going back to Madeira soon. Great to use mushrooms, especially Oyster, which are one of my favourites. I’m mad of mushrooms at the moment and bought some amazing books. Will be growing my own soon. They surprisingly actually contain a lot of protein. Love Cono Sur wine brand. Will definitely be trying this. Keep up the great work, both of you. Always enjoy your tasting sessions at the end. Arrive derci, Chow… James

    I made these last night. They were yummy. I’ll make the pimenta myself next time, i bought it but the only ones in stores near me have unnecessary food coloring.

    What would you recommend as a replacement for White wine if i don't want to use that

      You could just use broth. You could use white wine vinegar as well or a non-alcoholic beer. Sometimes bifanas are made with a beer sauce instead of wine 👍🏼

      lol it’s great! I always used to buy it in Toronto but haven’t been able to find it in stores on Vancouver Island. Thats why I made my own! 😅

    Hello, I have a non food related question. I saw an episode of a Canadian T.V. show called Murdoch Mysteries and the leading nurse had a striking resemblance to you. Are you also an actress? It was season 12 episode 2 called Operation Murder.
