Ye u kinda hav eto think about it. There was a larger run on tackles and the pats took the worst one since they all fell. If they were to have moved up they would prob have to give up their second fourth which got them a super steal in Javon baker. Definitely a reach but still not a horrible pick considering the situation

Definitely get what you’re saying on the Hopper pick based off big board value. But Packers had to double dip at LB with McDuffie, Wilson, and Welch in their final years of their contract and need depth/LB with coverage & ST value. Packers had to triple dip at safety to make up for the loss of Rudy Ford, Jonathan Owen’s and Darnell Savage. Wanted to get cheaper draft picks and get players who will fit their new scheme

Don’t agree with the hopper opinion. Green Bay is switching to a 4-3 man/press man. He’s also been really good on special teams which is something the packers need to approve on. Hopper needs to work on his tackling and trusting his eyes more. He’s going to be a really good player

We need a high upside back up Gaurd for this season.
With how far we got last season this is the all in year and so giving up a 3rd next yr for a high upside cheap back up with time to develop and offers back up tackle upside instantly where your back up depth is also weak. I’ll gladly give up a 3rd for that kind of peace of mind between both Manu and Mahogany….

He has very similar physicals to Jordan mailata being almost the same height and weight manu has more speed and vertical but mailata has more agility but manu has the physicals to refine his technique and become on a similar level and the lions don’t need many draft pick at this point to refill our team so if they want to give up a third who could be good next year instead of a very high upside guard who has the physicals to move to tackle if they want and we have to guards over 30 so we need people to replace them next year or the year after I’m happy with the pick and that is not cope watch and see it like the eagles with a top Oline and one of if not the best Oline coaches in the league it can make star.

Four teams made the dumbest picks in Round 1: Chargers not getting an elite WR, such as Malik Nabers, for Justin Herbert; Falcons taking a QB they didn’t need, plus, might not even be more than just another Geno Smith; and the Raiders taking a TE they didn’t need! Seriously, I don’t who botches the Raiders’ drafts every year, but they definitely do every year!
And then later in the draft, there was the Jets taking Braelon Allen, and now probably ruining him on their bench! WHY they took two RBs in their draft is beyond me, when they already have two good ones in Hall and Izzy!
But, they’re the Jets, and the Jets always do dumb things; thus, the reason they haven’t been to the Super Bowl since 1969!
A lot of fantasy football GMs groaned when they saw the Jets taking Allen! On a team that needed him, Allen could have become a stud RB.

@@pepenaoaoqiqhsernkxjf673 No he wasn't a bad pick you don't know what the fu*k you're talking about. He flipped the field in an era that was ball control and he bailed the Raiders out in a lot of big games. He also pinned teams down near their endzone in a lot of big games. The Raiders also never had to carry a 3rd QB like every team in the NFL did and Ray even lined up with the safteys in training camp (until Madden thought he was far too important to risk). Guy was such a good athlete teams usually never returned punts for long yardage because he played saftey and was a good tackler. He was the Raiders 3rd string QB for over 10 years saving them a roster spot so they could develop guys like Cliff Branch who didn't play at all for two years. So in summation it was a totally different game than todays pussy football and field position was more important and there was a good reason for Guy being the first kicker/punter in the HOF.

Manu has played mostly Left Tackle with a little time at left guard. So, the Lions plan is to move him to right guard this year. Then, likely to right tackle next year, so they are incrementally changing his footwork before he starts playing real game snaps (ideally). They are giving themselves a backup plan if they don't get Decker resigned, Sewell will move to Left Tackle. I'm not saying they have any aspirations of Manu being the starting right tackle in '25. However, if Decker leaves he would see snaps at the position.
