I rarely comment on RUclips, however, this is arguably the greatest shanty/folk song I’ve heard in years. The simple tonal changes make it roar like a Dylan song. The heavy reliance on bass riffs, to emphasize the lyrical hooks, makes it feel like a “lived-in” original song.
1:14 the line “And walls that were built to keep us out now became their cage” goes so hard
Time to listen to this for the 5,413th time.

Rival pirates, Jonathan! A pirate ship sails into waters other pirates thought too challenging. As the ship conquers those waters, the other pirates follow in behind to take advantage of the newly-tamed seas. Our ship then turns the fight on them since they were too cowardly to brave those waters on their own.
