- This video is the first of our two part series on Kasar Devi (Almora, Uttarakhand) we visited the small town of Kasar devi on 3rd of september, this was our first travel video since the Corona virus pandemic started..
Kasar devi is known for its famous temple, scenic view of the himalayan range, its cafes and hippie lifestyle.
we spent few days at Kasar Devi, we enjoyed eating delicious meals at Mohan's cafe, we did a short trek on the magnetic hill, also known as the cranks ridge.. the place is an ideal spot for meditation, hence thats what we did here , in this video I have tried to explain some of the easiest techniques to meditate..
The place was also know as the Crank's Ridge in the 1960's mainly because the famous psychologist Dr. Timothy Leary streaked here in mid 60's , Kasar Devi was also an favourite spot for famous artist, painters , philosophers , religious leaders and spiritual teachers..
We made this vlog not only to document our travel but also to give a reflexion into the lives of some of the notable personalities who visited here as an tribute to them for making the place what it is now.

If you want to know the real side of kasar find an old hippie who visits kasar every alternate year
Kasar still exists because of the old homestays not because of these fancy hotels and restaurants
The number of hippies are dropping every year because of these commercial minded people who are their to make money and manipulated villagers to be money minded like them
I have seen kasar streets filled with colorful heads
Now you can see only indians everywhere and very few foreigners

UG Krishnamurti once said meditation is the most evil thing human beings have gone through... discovered or perhaps the senseless propoganda in existence for centuries Now the question is to avoid being aware of awareness cause the noise is silence. Response is stimulus and vice versa. Acknowledging is either accepted or rejected so that acknowledgment is reflecting yourself. Once no reflecting no oasis only mirage you see. I hope I am making some sense here... is the only irony I have got. 🤣
Anyway enough of the talks above I really liked the content and excellence in execution.
Thank for the point of view.. I really like UG and Alan Watts both.. I beleive that there are many things both of them would agree.. meditation can actually be a false practice I agree with UG.. I am just exploring it
