    Even with the bugs, I knew this game was special. While its outer layers did have issues like the t posing and the occasional crashes that didn't take anything away from its core. The music, the voice acting, the lore, the atmosphere, the character designs, and even the references we all on point. This and the great anime that came out is why people still talk about this game. Plus, the 2.0 patch version fixed the bugs and upped the cool factor.

      Hell yeah! Dude I remember that on launch day, I was like damn the voice acting is so on point. I wish I could go back to launch day haha. How many hours do you have on it? Have u played phantom liberty?

    For me it's the artstyle, everything feels coherent and very 80's. Its almost a look to the future with 80's nostalgia glasses on. Kusanagi looks like bike from Megazone 23, police/security mechs looks like cousins to ED 209, cars are "blocky" and "angular" even flat screens look "fat", and on top of that the city itself look like its ripped straight out of 80's cyberpunk anime.

  • @ch42zyb0y
    @ch42zyb0y День назад +4

    I clicked on your video bc I felt the same. I couldn't quite explane why this is but I think it's bc I grew up with this kind of movies about the future that had cyberpunk elements. It's like they imagined a future like this in the 80s and early 90s. I fantasized about it as a kid. And now I walk through some areas and missions in the game and it's like I was there before.

    • @DylanSwitzerland
      @DylanSwitzerland  День назад +1

      That's sick, it feels so familiar yet we haven't really been in a setting like this in real life. CB seems like the first to make something so immersive like this, I can only imagine what CB 2 is going to be like, also thank you for clicking on my video, that means a lot to me.

  • @itsdantaylor
    @itsdantaylor 2 дня назад +4

    I think one of the reasons why the game can feel nostalgic to so many is because........the game IS what everyone THINKS of when you think of the term Cyberpunk. Just like FACE VALUE, the common public conception of cyberpunk? That's what this game gives us and it is the first game to do so to such a immersive level. You walk out into Night City and feel like you've been here before and you kind of have, just like, only in your imagination every time you watched Bladerunner or read Burning Chrome.

    • @DylanSwitzerland
      @DylanSwitzerland  2 дня назад +1

      @@itsdantaylor yo, this is a great comment! I never thought of it or looked at it that way. This really is the first time we’re able to get something like this on a grand level. This couldn’t have been done on PS2 or PS3/360. And yes FACE VALUE, it gives you everything you think of when you hear the term cyberpunk!

    I must say, the bugs and glitches on release did make me stay away. I also didnt have the time to jump into a massive world like this . Well I just started playing it 2 weeks ago for the first time and I've been so in love with the world they created. I have never been as immersed in a game like I have with Cyberpunk. So much that I binge watched Edgerunners without even finishing the game yet. Im currently 63 hrs in, in a relationship with Panam and im in NO hurry to start the last mission. Im taking my sweat time with all the side missions and gigs because i dont know when I'll have this feeling again while playing a game for the first time. The gameplay is also incredible and the soundtrack, omg the soundtrack is out of this world!

    I 1st started playing this game around late October 2024, so not too long ago. Still at it now, I just can't move away from it ~ some folks ask me "you still not done with that yet?" And I'm like, nope, cause some days I just feel like driving around listening to radio songs, see how a new car steers, etc. I find the gameplay pretty damn good too , perks are high impact and drastically alter how you'll approach the game, and can create some wild synergies between your build, your cyberware & your weapons - like I'm running this (mostly) non-lethal playthrough and it's very diff from how I approach the game like that vs how I approach it with a say, pyromania centered "burn it all!" build.

    I absolutely loved this video! I get that same feeling of nostalgia when I play the game nowadays, I just was never really able to pinpoint why, kinda chalked it up to being some impact covid had on me for the longest time. I got the game for my Xbox one from my grandmother about a year after launch, at the time I was like just turning 15 I think, I remember being so excited for the launch after obsessing over all the trailers for a few months prior and then being immeasurably concerned when I heard about all the bugs. Nonetheless I powered through the story of the game, and loved what it was trying to be, and all the good moments it had. Especially the soundtrack, I rocked never fade away. Edgerunners was what really brought me back though, I adore that anime with all of my heart. Just started Persona 3 Reload recently as well! Please make some more videos about Cyberpunk, and other stuff in general! The gushing about the small things is appreciated, thats what all makes the game so great and re-playable, I had to buy it a second time for the DLC on a new console later, and playing it now when im 18 just feels like synth-noodle soup for the soul, worth it.

      Cyberpunk is literally my favorite game ever made. I’m 100%ing it right now actually. I have over 600+ hours in this game. Gaurantee it’s not a waste of time. Experience that city. Watch the news programs. Do all the side quests. Watch build videos on RUclips. There’s nothing else like this game.
      My biggest criticism in the game is the cyberware capacity shard lock at high levels. You’ll get to that hurdle eventually but it’s a pain in the ass that they refuse to rework. I have over 100 hrs in my current play through and still can’t max out cyberware capacity. That’s annoying af.
      Other than that though games perfect imo.

    What's interesting for me is I remember playing on a Xbox one s, but I never had any of these game breaking glitches. However, my Xbox crashed every 30 minutes to an hour without fail, but I loved the game so much that it didn't matter to me. I think I completed around 70% before I gave it up. After the 1.4 update dropped I finally beat the game. They put 60 fps on console and by that time I had the xbox series s so the game was running like a dream in comparison to launch.
    Cyberpunk is the only game I've bought twice in my life. I got myself a beefy gaming laptop and playing it on the 2.2 update with maxed out settings at 60-80 frames, makes it feels like an entirely new game. I can't put it down. I think it's my favorite game of all time!

    For me it's not nostalgia. It is both existential dread and catharsis.
    Dread that our timeline will become too similar, through fascism people will die, get disillusioned, states and institutions will lose control in the long run, then the corporations will take over, the public order will suffer, people roaming free to wipe out anyone who they don't like will become a normal thing, meanwhile every aspect of human life will both be commercialized and technologized, family bonds will shatter, corporate and gang allegiance will replace it fully.
    Why? Because that is the dominant, stronger social order. Not a better one, not a more liveable one. But one that will gain the absolute military victory at the end of the 21st century.
