    This video teaches you how to make buttonholes, slip knot, cast on, knit, purl, stockinette stitch(stst), knit through the back, SKP(slip, knit, pass stitch over), p2tog(purl two together), bind off
    Materials Needed:
    -Worsted weight yarn(I used Patons Classic Wool-Petal Pink: amzn.to/2DuA5ZX)
    -Sizes 4 amzn.to/2E6zajz and 5 amzn.to/2Gd0jSr straight needles , Size 5 amzn.to/2Gd0jSr and 6 amzn.to/2BqumSQ straight needles OR buy the Takumi needle set: amzn.to/2DO5do1 MY FAVORITE!!! Worth every penny, and you save $$$ because you can do everything with them!
    -Tapestry needle: amzn.to/2DpFg1j
    Note: Instead of knitting in stockinette stitch for 2", knit 1 row, purl 1 row, then bind off.
    Then start the top ribbing:
    CO 20
    row 1: k3, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2, k3
    row 2: p3, k2, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2, k2, p3
    make 2 buttonholes in row 4
    knit as long as you need(approx. 76 rows). BO all sts.
    sew in upper to booties where the buttonholes are overlapping.

    I am a beginner knitter and found your video very very helpful. This was my first knitting project ever! Didn't go too fast or too slow. Added bonus, I finally understand the long tail cast on!!!

    "Row 3, 5, 7 & 9 is the same except you have more stitches"??? Where do you have more stitches. Does it increase by one each time each time where you increased on the first row. Really not very clear....

    These are adorable! I really enjoy your videos and knitted projects.
    I can't wait to start knitting them. I hope these are easy for me to do since I have to knit 3 pairs, I'm having triplets! Is there a pattern for 0-3 months?

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  10 лет назад +1

      Wow Triplets! That's great! They are easy once you do the first one :) No there's not :( But maybe you can buy thinner yarn and use a smaller needle and it will fit 0-3 month size??

    • @donia484
      @donia484 10 лет назад +1

      What size needle do you recommend? I bought thin yarn today, the sales lady told size 7. Is that too big?

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  10 лет назад

      You need size 4 and 5 for the 3-6 month size, so I would go smaller than those, 3 and 4

    For rows 5, 7, and 9 how do you work with the increase in the pattern? I am new to this...do I just continue to knit the remaining stitches at the end of the row (where the pattern in the video ends)? Does the pattern change slightly for these last odd rows? Please help!

    I got to row 5 and from what I understood it would be the same as row 3, however since we've added stitches previously in row 3 I'm not sure how row 5 changes for the increase. Where do I get your printed pattern?

  • @adamnewman9979
    @adamnewman9979 9 лет назад +2

    Please could you help?
    I got to row 3 e pattern from the video and then when I got to row 5 I had about 5 stitches left over. So I just knitted them on. Then it came to row 7 and I had 13 stitches left over at the end after repeating row 3 again. I don't know what to do with these extra stitches at the end? I've tried to click on the written pattern in the description bar and my screen just jumps to comments. I am a beginner and have found you the easiest to follow so far. I really don't want to give up as I've been sat here following the instructions on your video for a couple of hours.
    Please help?

    On the written instructions it says Row 9: k5, yf, k11, [yf, k7] twice, yf, k11, yf, k5.
    What does it mean by [yf,k7] twice? Do i yf then knit 7 stitches at once? or do I yf for each of the seven stitches? or to I yf, knit 7 stitches, then yf again and do the next 7 stitches? I'm a beginner and I might have bitten off more than I can chew with this project! haha

      It means to yf, k7, yf, k7. Don't give up! You can do it!

    What age roughly are these for? I see there ore 3-6 months to 9-12 months ones, but which are these? Thanks, looking forward to having a go!

      so the only difference between the 3-6 month size and 9-12 month is the size needle you use. In the description bar I have listed what size needles you need to obtain the different sizes :)

    Could you please help! I want to make these booties for my 18 months old baby, how many stitches should I begin with?

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  6 лет назад

      Popo Em the pattern is only written up to 12 months so you can try adding some sts to your CO or using thicker yarn and bigger needles to make it bigger

    Where do I find the full pattern?

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  10 лет назад

      Under the video in the description bar. There's two links. One is for the bottom, and one is for the top part. Put them together, and it makes the best bootie!

    I am stuck after row 4 .I have 41 stitches at the beginning of row 5 and the pattern has 36 stitches to work with for row 5....so I have 5 st. left after working row 5...I have started over and still getting the same....I wrote the pattern down,that was on the video.Due to the pattern that I printed did not match the video at all .The pattern was by Baby Booties by Katarzyna Tarasik:..The only one thing that match was the Upper stage where it calls out to co.20 st....Ty Ok looks like I found what I was doing wrong after I printed out the pattern .I was repeating rows 2 and 3 beginning with row 4..I do not know where I got this from..It was very hard to fine the pattern,but I read all the notes and you said,that the pattern was the same as your brown Auggs...Also the print out had a icon covering the Gauge info.. 21=(10cm)in st? Ty for your video.I will start over with a smile...Have a great day.
