Thanks for this video! I'm considering buying this printer and it's useful to see how it prints. I really like that the paper (feed) tray goes all the way into the printer, instead of sticking out the front, like my current printer.
I've spent 3 hours looking for a printer bc I'm not the greatest with technology and I'm trying to be as careful as I can and do my research right. This printer is literally sitting on my Amazon cart. Kind of slow but very good quality it seems. I'm assuming label paper is also ok for picture printing? Also, love this video! it was exactly what I was searching for. Speed and quality picture printing! Excellent!
From your print dialogue box, choose "preferences", then on the dialogue box that appears next choose the "Paper/Quality" tab, and where it says "Boarderless Printing" near the bottom, change that to "On". (Note: some of these Envy printers will not print boarderless unless you also choose a "photo" type paper on the same "Paper/Quality" tab.)
This printer is an "Instant Ink Ready" printer, so it comes with instant ink ready cartridges in the box (you are NOT required to register it in the instant ink program, in order to use these "setup cartridges.") This was brand new ink that came with the printer, only other thing that had been printed prior to this, was the "alignment page."
The print quality really is great on this printer, especially considering it can be had for around $60. The replacement ink at retail will get you though. I enrolled this printer in the instant ink 15-pages/month free plan. Since I never go over, I literally get 15 8.5x11 photos free every month. Not a bad investment. I keep my brother for everyday printing and use this for special, heavy color projects.
@@davingstotech8337 Actually, it comes with setup cartridges in the box, not instant ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges are similar in size to XL cartridges, but slightly larger. It is instant ink ready, but you get the instant ink cartridges shipped to you when you enroll.
The paper feed tray can hold about 100 sheets. It's usually best when printing a photo on photo paper to do it one sheet at a time, but to each their own.
With the 5055, they tend to 'push' you to use a mobile device to setup the printer for Wi-Fi connection, so yes, as long as your phone is on your Wi-Fi network you want to attach the printer to, shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Is there any1 in my shoes?Any1 here w/out a wireless router? My Android sees my printer via bluetooth but it wont pair. I'm trying to do this via bluetooth only & can't get my Android to pair w/my 5055 envy printer.
Initially when I was trying to set up the wifi it could not find my internet. It was set right next to my modem/router. Finally after an hour of trying it somehow found it when I pressed the wps button on my modem/router. However, I had pressed it several times. Overall, I am happy with it. It prints/scans documents fine. I haven't used it to print photos. I've used it for a couple weeks without any issues. I wish I could fit more paper in the tray but it looks really nice visually. It is a good size for smaller spaces. BTW... I just got this off of an eBay review, maybe this will work.
@@thetimeisnow9236 : .thx for help. Sorry i'm late in my reply. I do'nt have a modem at all. I'm relying soley on my ANDROID, & BLUETOOTH. My device is visible...Prnter wize the powerbutton-2-SMARTBLUETOOTH is only opition. sadly there's no click to pair opition. i have same issure w/my smart pen :(
So printing that 1 picture took 4 minutes and 41 secs approx and a third of your colored ink... No thanks,I'll stick with my Canon Pixma Thanks for the video though
The problem with the Pixma at least with the MX series is that the printhead will go bad and it costs more than to buy a new printer to replace. What Pixma do you have? Mine lasted about 5 years and I need to get a new one now.

This is right on time. Been debating since last month as to whether we your not make the purchase. Everyone in the comment section helped as well!

How did you print edge to edge with this printer?
From your print dialogue box, choose "preferences", then on the dialogue box that appears next choose the "Paper/Quality" tab, and where it says "Boarderless Printing" near the bottom, change that to "On". What type of paper was this on?
Does it dry instantly or do you have to wait for few minutes before you can actually hold it completely? Thanks
It's safe (no smearing, smudging, etc.) to handle immediately after it comes out.
Drys instantly
Does it move this slow with a regular black and white page?
No, this was a high DPI print of a color image, black and white documents would take a couple seconds, max.
Can this print card stock?
Was this brand new ink pack or the one that comes with the printer?

wow the quality of that picture is exceptional

Does it used pigment inks? Thanks for sharing.
No, this uses dye based inks. I have another video on my channel of an Epson (Stylus C88+) that does use pigment based inks.
It only does one sheet at a time? can't put at least ten sheets and leave it running?
The paper feed tray can hold about 100 sheets. It's usually best when printing a photo on photo paper to do it one sheet at a time, but to each their own.
How is the initial setup? Can I do it on my note 9?

Slow
Best setting with max DPI, yes. But absolutely worth it. For normal jobs, it is much faster.
