Bloody hell Glenn, your eye for that perfect look for an RC car is ridiculous lol, when u had the high wings on both cars,I was screaming "yes Glenn you've just made them both look a million times better,"but when u put it back down I could totally understand why u said the wings were too high. These body's are quite low profile and the lower wing ties in with that look better. I really don't know how u make me want cars that I didn't initially like the look of, your Avante 100% deserves the Avante name it's an absolute stunner 😍
I've raced my TD2 on high grip carpet and went for the same gear diff. To stop the TA06 diff leaking, I use the TRF o-rings (Tamiya 42374). I also use a bit of team associated green slime around the seals and the main gasket. Main issue with these diffs is that people over fill them - I fill mine to just above the cross shaft. Lastly when assembling akes sure you do up the screws evenly - IE don't just put one in a tighten it, try and do them all gradually once you get near the bottom of the threads. It's a great diff and should run for a very long time between rebuilds if done right 👍 Great content as always btw!
Aluminum steering is a good upgrade, faster, sharper more precise steering, when racing, the response of aluminum is much more noticeable. And the TA06 only has a rear gear diff.. why it says rear.. because the front is belt drive 😅
Looking forward to the running vids, i was a low wing mount fan, but im starting to put a few cars back to there high mounts 😁 all down to taste as you say 👍
My td2 has been in dire need of parts… broken shock tower, rear hub, diff screw and t nut, wheels and tires (the original ones are on my dn01) and a motor!
Cool buggies, excellent video👍 my td4 has been sitting on the shelf for a while now I finished the revive body then but haven’t yet started on the decals I just can’t decide what I want to do with it🧐
Both my TD4's have the low wing mounts, and I'm in total agreement that the carbon tower wing mount is way too high (probably good for the performance but not for the visuals!). That being said I am a hard pass on the racing wing style wings, and have ReviveRC's custom rear wing on both of mine.
Good vid once again Glenn. Very interesting viewing, and I like your take on these cars. Tbh I wouldn't have had a problem with the high wings, but you get that on the big jobs. I really like these two chassis, do not like the bodies though. I'm hoping against hope that Tamiya does their usual and releases the same chassis under a different name and body.
Some nice upgrades there mate, looking good! As for the rear wings, the higher wing may be better for racing, I don't know with these cars, but the lower wing does look a bit sleeker. I suppose at the end of the day it's down to whether you value aesthetics over performance, or vice versa. Great video as always!!
As Barry stated, having the wing up on the new mounts will make it more effective if you are racing but if this is a shelf queen then put the wing back where you like it and don’t worry about it anymore. But again with the wing down low like that it will have little to no effect on the car.
Some very nice upgrades you have there Glenn. I have been racing my TD4 since last year, and love it. It is stock, but runs great. I have more or less all upgrades, except the metal gear and Aeration shocks for it here. But can’t decide if I should just ad it on, or build another one for the shelf, and then have plenty of spairs for the runner? How do you like the Aeration shocks, are they worth the $?
@@bradkalman2353 The balldiff is gonna gif more slip action, but he has the slipperclutch spurgear. Therefore there is no need for slip action in the gears anymore.
Also love my td cars. They are a ton of fun. Great job on the video. Cars look great!
Thanks Keith 😇👊🏻

Beautiful cars my friend! Looking forward to some td2 run video!
Great decision on the wing height for both cars, thank you for the video!

Blue bling.. or the Tamiya curse🤣 looks lovely does nothing but we all love em😁 glad you changed the wings back👍👊
Looking great Glenn! Nice mate!
TD's are looking better and better, l am looking forward to getting my hands on a 2! Cheers Glenn!
You got to make them look how you want them I agree. Glad you enjoyed this, I did too 👍🏻
Great video Glenn, thanks! I love my TD2, also prefer the lower wing!
Excellent thanks for watching 😇👊🏻
Can’t wait to see those motors in there! Epic running videos approaching!!
Haha yeah coming soon 😎👊🏻
Great vid again awesome.
Hi Glenn you're like me bud before wrenching put brains in gear lol😂😂😂 keep the video coming
Haha what a knob I am lol 🤣👊🏻
Can u file down each side of the wing mount just enough for that dimpel in the wings to be able to set flat?

Race machines 😎 happy Saturday Glenn
great looking cars there
My god the Revive body looks great! And the tubro wheels 🫠🤩
Thank you for the part numbers for these upgrades.

"play with it with my fingers fpr a bit to see if it leaks". Comedy gold glenn 😅😅😅
Let’s get you moved down here to Texas Glenn so you can play outside more 😄 great cars man!
Haha I wish 😇😎
Will be interesting to see how the oil diff performs Glenn, agree about the high wing 👍
The general rule is Oil diffs work better on high grip tracks such as astro and carpet, ball diffs work better in the wet or on loose dirt.
@@markbruton-young9228 interesting cheers, might be better for me to stick with a ball diff based on what I drive in that case

Its interesting to see rc tamiyas i usually play Tamiya mini 4 wheel drive

Hey Glenn, they both look superb but honesty, I think the wings looked better higher up, not obscured by the shock towers.
Glenn don't think the td2 has the bevel gears on the gearbox🤔
Yes but with a hot brushless motor for the TD4 to get out.
Great vid!
Gauranga :)
Well you can put those metal gears on the TD 4 then. Not is all lost.😁
Glenn when building the td2 a separate piece of plstic goes into the gearbox where one of the bevels would sit

Love the front wing man
Can't the ball diff take the slipper clutch?
Yes it can! I use a Tamiya 10.5 brushless in mine.
@@craze1701 what do you think is going to perform the oil filled diff or the ball diff what will give more limited slip action.
@@bradkalman2353 The balldiff is gonna gif more slip action, but he has the slipperclutch spurgear. Therefore there is no need for slip action in the gears anymore.
What spur gears fit the slipper option?
If it leaks you could always put thicker oil in it and then that would be less chance of it leaking out.
Hello! Is it possible to use the a30 astute side panel for a transverse battery setup with the original super avante body shell?
Definitely lower position 😎
Broke my TD4 tower right away. It’s junk. No other option in stock in my country. But just ordered the Tamiya one today.
Did you run the TD2 or race it in the end?
How about a build vid on those cool wheel covers!!!!?
a decent MIP 1.5mm driver would get that grub screw out I reckon
I think the td4 would look better with the high wing and the front wing removed.
Well I liked the high wings🤔🤣 too late🤣😂🤣😂😅
Keep the ball diff.
Do a battery pack with each wing position and see if any of the 3 give you what you’re looking for performance wise
❤ the bling, not a fan of the high wing.
TD2 had an extra piece of plastic you had to add where the bevel gear would go on TD4.
Why not heat the gear up gently so you don't heat the motor up
Good idea 😅
Definitely need to lower the stance of that Rig. Sitting way to high to go in the cabinet like that. We all know how you like your cars to sit. 😂
