The Linnaeus's two-toed sloth (Choloepus didactylus) is also called Unau and is the most commonly housed sloth species in modern zoos and aquariums. The species itself is not considered globally threatened. How long this will still be the case is uncertain because the sloths' habitat is increasingly being destroyed. They are already important ambassadors for the tropical rainforests.
At Dortmund Zoo ( @ZooDortmundTV ), the animals in the Xenarthra House are also ambassadors for biodiversity. This so-called superorder includes not only sloths but also anteaters and armadillos.

Zootierhaltung hat mit Gefangenschaft nichts zu tun 🤷♂️ dem Tier geht es super. 😊👍
Habt ihr es gefragt? Wildtiere gehören nicht in den Zoo sondern in die Freiheit und wenn die gefährdet sind, dann kann man Wildtierschutz auch Vorort machen.
Ist meine Meinung, ich bin überzeugt das ihr alles für euch Tiere tut und nichts böses wollt.
@@s.a.tierisch : Wo hast du denn den Quatsch gelesen? Umfassender Naturschutz funktioniert nur ex situ und in situ. Informiere dich da gerne bei der Weltnaturschutzunion (IUCN). Du hast da noch Einiges an Wissen nachzuholen.
Wofür braucht man einen Zoo mit Besucher?
Eine Aufzucht und Schutz kann man auch ohne Besucher machen, dann die Tiere auswildern. Eure Webseite Zoos_Media habe ich mal Besucht und hier geht es vorallem darum Zoos und deren Berechtigung.
Zudem sind die meisten Tiere in Zoos und Aquarien nicht gefährdet. Reine Unterhaltung und keine Bildung von Kindern.
Was sollen die lernen das ein Eisbär auf Beton lebt oder Delfine durch Ringe springen.
Sorry aber geht lieber in den Wald und lernt dort die Natur und die Tiere zu schätzen.
