horses and cows are often kept together on real life farms! typically what i've seen where i live is people with a herd of cows but only a few horses will put them together, mostly for the horses' benefit (they are very anxious without a proper herd). it's very cute watching a horse and cow play together, like huge puppies!
horses and cows are fine together. it's just that horses can't only have cows as friends
Actually the pairing of livestock is cows and sheep, they eat different grasses and compliment each other. Horses go with goats because the old wives tale is that the goats will take any sickness that the horse may come down with. Old wives tale. Also calves sometimes like to chew horses tails. Personally I wouldn't keep cows and horses together but I would keeps goats with my horses.
Been around horses and farms most of my life and cattle and horses don’t mix at all, totally different herd dynamics. If you have hundreds of acres for them to roam separate then maybe. Horses will seriously injure themselves around cattle.
@j.elizabeth4621 yeah i was living close to a farm and they where kept separately but only by like a fence and there was two horses and one of them HATED the cows like if they were close the horse would try to fight them😅 But the other liked them and would just chill beside the cows sometimes touch them but this one was chill

horse ranch and cottage living is such a good combo
Cottage living is the most versatile build pack imho. It pairs well with nearly everything outside of a city theme. Horse ranch's gameplay stuff and cottage living's general vibes are a perfect combo.

I love that!
Why not really run one with your sims? All you need is a greenhouse to grow your flowers, a flower areanging table to make them into arrangements and a selling table from one of the packs that has it to sell them on. It's good money too.

My favourite starter you've made!! So pretty and so full despite the budget! Cottage living and horse ranch is a great combo. I love playing farm households because I also love Stardew Valley so this is perfect!
Hey Kayla, would you ever consider doing a follow up video of any of your starters showing how you'd upgrade it as your sim started earning more money (or like, after they get married and get 20k). Maybe adding a second story on a smaller one or expanding out on a larger lot

I think it's one of my favorite starter house you've done so far. It's so beautiful it doesn't even look like a starter 💗 It has so much more personality than a regular blue suburban
My cows and horses were pretty much always in the same field growing up. Same with our donkey and alpacas, our goats were always free range, same with our chickens. Oh our deer were always in a separate field until they got released.

You should build an easter house with the cottage living flowery wallpaper *like the one with bunnies!, the Pastel Pop rug with the strawberries and the flowers, and the books with the bunny book ends. thought this was a good idea since easter is sneaking up!

Stardew has made its way into my sims too! Have you considered recreating / translating stardew valley buildings into the sims? Also would love to watch a stardew valley series on sims!
Dr Gluon has done this! He even used For Rent to move the town into one giant lot with all of Stardew Valley included.
My mother and I play together and are so excited for the 1.6 update to come to console. I have been trying to avoid spoilers, which has been difficult, but I am happy to see a lot of people having a great time with it. This build is fantastic and has given me some inspiration to farm in the sims in the meantime:)
This starter is so cute and I can't believe she fit so much useful gameplay stuff within the starter budget using limited packs. Very impressive! Watching Simsie's streams is what introduced me to Stardew and now it's one of my go-to games for cozy vibes. I have two main gaming moods, it's either hard core horror or cozy lol.
I also enjoy Stardew Valley! I’m usually a silent viewer of the channel but I love your content, and your videos actually got me into the sims, absolutely love your channel and your vibes!💖
Honestly, this is your best starter home ever. As others have said, cows and horses are often kept together if you have both, for the benefit of both. They’re social creatures. I think the only change I would make is adding a pet bed & bowl so there could be a farm cat or dog. You also had SO much budget left for clutter. I think you need to make more single story starter homes. For much of the US anyway, single story homes are far more common and in the Sims, stairs are expensive.

I have a little tip for you to save some money when you make a chimney with walls. In this specific case, when you make the walls on the second floor, make the wall height higher, and use tall half walls. That way you save one "set" of walls 😊 (I hope it makes sense😅)
For the fence you maybe could have used debug fences to save money. But I love how the house looks for the budget, You’ve done a great job Kayla!

my mom is a big stardew player. a little over a year ago on new year’s day she told us all her resolution was to “become a gamer.” this was kinda out of character for her as she never played nintendo games with us growing up like our dad did. my little sisters friend recommended stardew valley and she’s been hooked ever since! it’s been a year and a half and i’m pretty sure it’s the only game she plays (aside from her brief goat simulator phase). my mom was a SAHM for like 10 years; she was always running around after the three of us. then she was back to work, then getting her masters. as we get older it’s been great to see her have more time for herself and start new hobbies. (same goes for my dad but he’s not a gamer)

That terrain paint you did on the barrels in jumps is actually very realistic!
This is awesome! DEFINITELY of my favorites you've ever done! I do think you are too scared of dirt terrain paint though, you could go a little darker and heavier with it.

I really like stardew valley, I would like to play it again, the music is a bop, the character are interesting and the game mechanics is good despite the fact that I simply haven't got the one for fishing, the aesthetic is very cute, I truly love watching the duck swinging in the river or sea depending on the type of farm, the coal tree happening is clever in a way, and the mushroom trees!!!! I really like the game, it's peaceful.

I would love it if you built base game houses for the not so berry challenge. The reasons are:
1. You are the creator of the challenge.
2. You are really good at building
3. I think many people play the not so berry challenge, and it's so hard to find good houses in the gallery if you don't have packs or have a few.

I'm not in the market for a farm (or a starter home) ATM but it IS very cute! I will admit, I wish you'd leave at least 2 counters empty - I know it doesn't look as cute but one of my favorite things is for sims to cook together. Of course I just fix it, lol, but its always on my mind because of that!

Kayla stop this build is gonna be so helpful because I literally just started my own lil rags 2 riches where it’s just my sim and a horse in Henford on Bagley and I’ve started a little farm shop selling produce from my goats/cow/chickens with the food stand from the Home Chef Hustle pack✨✨✨ once I make enough money I am so gonna download this thankyou
I would've used a lot close to horse equipment in the horse ranch world, so this could save a lot. And if you want it more green, I would focus more on the middle of the lot and fade it out to the outside to fit better into the landscape. 😇❤️

You inspired me to play with Cottage Living again! I played it a lot when it first came out but it's been a minute. Suddenly I want to make a lot of money with the gardening skill and building up the house with the profits. And probably have a Sims kid or 3 along the way!
