I know you are in Canada? I am in Seattle with similar weather to yours and would like to try some citrus trees on the ground next year. Thank you so much
Szechuan peppercorn gives the citric flavor and numbness. It’s different from black peppercorns. Btw, some southern Thai curry use black peppercorns and lemongrass.

lemon grass & pepper altogether used? ==> wrong & NEVER in the future.
Chiles and lemongrass together? Many jeow/nam prik in SE Asian cooking employ this combo....

Szechusn peppercorn is not the same as black peppercorn. You should try it
