I appreciate you showing the packaging for the ingredients because there's always so many to choose from at the Asian store. Now I can get it right. Can't wait to try it!
i love it that you have such a special relationship with your mom and share her recipes with us. Its like we are part of your mom's special relationship too. I miss my mom, as she is no longer with me. Thank you so much for the extension of your mom.
Lemongrass? I love that addition! I think the mushroom powder is important, but I can see the chicken base doing almost the same thing. Great recipe. Thank you.
Wow-I’m obsessed with making different chili oils once I understood how magical a condiment they are-so many variations on the theme but yours is the first I’ve found using lemon grass-what a wonderful idea-I’ll give yours a try-thank you so much for the recipe and technique. Steve K.
I’m so glad to see you’re channel coming along and growing. You should really make a cook book and some recipes on hmong food. I live in a very American place and I miss hmong food so much but I don’t know how to cook any, I’ve learn so much by watching your videos.

I really love your recipes. Thank you so much for sharing the amazing recipes that you and your mom have curated over the years. I’ve learned so much from you. I can’t wait to try this recipe for chili oil.
OMGoodness. This recipe is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing a family recipe. Unfortunately i cant find Thai chilli in Calgary, Alberta (Canada) so I have to make do with what I can find at my local KMart (I just LOVE when it’s time to go there for more supplies). I started making this earlier last year and gave my neighbour a small bottle. Fast forward to now and I’ve been doubling the recipe every couple of months as we’ve all shamelessly become obsessed. Your videos are a wonderful homage to your family and heritage and I really enjoy watching them. And can I just say- your Mom, and Grandmother are amazing cooks. It’s so wonderful to see these family recipes and traditions passed on to you. ❤️🇨🇦
This video is so useful! I can now make chili oil at home instead of buying! Thank you so much for sharing! This chili oil definitely looks perfect👍👍👍 Stay safe always~
YUM! I can't wait to make this, thank you for sharing! Have yall ever tried cumin seed in the oil too? It gives the oil i make a little extra something that's hard to define (a nice savory addition). Now I'm hungry haha
I made some yesterday! The flavor is so good!!! I think I got the wrong chilies though. It’s not as spicy as I was hoping. Maybe it’ll spice up as it soaks. Either way, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I love chili oil so much and love trying different recipes. For the sichuan peppercorns, do you toast the whole peppercorns before grinding?
Very intresting, mouthwatering and delicious recipe. I like it and the way you represent your recipe was very nice. video was easy to understand. Keep making such video. ♥ Love from #mauryankitchen team.
I’ve searched quite a few recipes so far, this one is my favorite. I’m still confused a bit though…. People are freaking out online about water in the garlic/shallots and having the finished product sit on the counter. Personally I don’t think it’s an issue at all. Ty!!!
Chopped finely fried ginger, chopped garlic, red chilli flakes, chopped green onion. Stir fried with seasoning : old light soy sauce (bean taste), sugar, salt
Could you show us various chili pepper dipping sauces? I always taste these herbs in people’s chili sauces and I can’t make out what they’re putting in theirs. Sooo good though.
Did You know that salt doesn't melt inside this at all?? 😊 I had to scrape it from the bottom of the pot with teaspoon 😊 btw oil taste and smell is fantastic 😎

I love this! I’ve always made my Chilli Oil Sichuan Style where you heat up the oil and dump it over chillies etc. This looks amazing👌🏽

The chili oil is normally not spicy, it’s just more for flavoring. I have never had spicy chili oil.

Just make sure to cook out the water content in the garlic and shallots or else it will create mold as it sits on the counter.
Looks amazing! Will have to make this soon
