teaching me things i wish i knew never having an art class in highschool, for the longest time i was self taught from references, to the point i do realism in alot of areas including portraits, but i have the skill of a 5 year old when it comes to anatomy
Although you showed off a LOT of realistic artists and painters, I'd like to mention that many manga artists and animators ALSO have to know and learn these things and will often use that knowledge to enrich their content. If you want to be a manga artist or animator, you need these skills just as much as those who make realistic figures.
What he said, however inconvenient, is true. Stylization and selection of specific things to keep or remove can only be done with intention and quality from a quality understanding of the real, not always ideal-looking things
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to learn about human and anatomy and physiology marieb try Laophiaa Cranial Blueprint (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
Oh my goodness this is exactly what I need! Thank you so so much for putting all the time and effort into making and sharing this course with us amateur artists. I am so looking forward to learning all this stuff and applying it into my drawings. You are awesome, Stan!

I sometimes came to this channel for a quick “I’m feeling productive. Let’s watch proko while I attempt figure drawing!” After so long, I am finally here at the beginning ready to start for real. Thank you for making this course available. :))
Proko, I just wanted to say thank you for this amazing series. I'll be honest, I haven't watched your channel in forever but recently I got into Art College and we are about to start our anatomy studies and this series is the first thing that came to my mind and the exact boost that I'll surely need to my learning. Thank you for uploading this for us and I want to wish good luck to other artists on their journey
thanks for not making boring content, i initially came for a few pointer videos but the humor and production value involved is reason to keep tuning in alone.
As a newbie painter and drawer I was immediately drawn to your channel when I spotted the anatomy lessons. As a Physical Therapist I'm hoping to merge my knowledge of anatomy and observation to the paper. I'm very much looking forward to working my way thru each tutorial. Thank you in advance.
Online learning is invaluable for people (like me) without access to traditional art schools. I really appreciate the content Stan provides in his engaging teaching style and hope he continues to do so for a long time.
I am sorry, Stan, but the hybrid of the orca and penguin looked like a butt plug. Other than that, great to see you are back with another course that we mediocre artists-well, I am-can only appreciate!
I used to like drawing when I was a kid, but I was never that good at it. I bought some Burne Hogarth books when I was fifteen (e.g. Dynamic Anatomy, Drawing Dynamic Hands). I gave up soon after that though so I never got to progress :/ Some of the drawings in this video are really cool. Is it too late to get good at drawing by the age of 24?
+Wayne Stakem It's definitely not too late to start drawing. Some of my new students are 65 or older. The key is to practice, learn, and be patient. You're not going to become a professional overnight.
Nope. I started at 27 (about 6 years ago). It took a lot of practice, but I'm miles beyond where I was when I began, although I still have a lot to learn. Also, although he wasn't talking about drawing, I had a French teacher who started learning the language at 40 and spoke it beautifully as a 50 or 60-something.
Good timing! I was actually starting to practise anatomy because I realised that I had to to improve my drawings. So far, I got the legs okey, but feet, arms, shoulders and the torso still look wrong.
Hey Proko. Love your work. In this video @ 2:09, the brain is facing to the right within the line drawing of the head facing to the left (backwards) Key landmark is temporal lobes and Sylvian fissure. Cheers!
"Things have changed since we last saw each other", it feels like interacting with me like "you came back to the art world everything is changed, long time no see", I started drawing a lot way back in 2014 and quit in early 2016 I watched videos of Proko but I didn't take much attention how these videos are so important, I'm just copying drawing back then I know my self I can draw but in my imagination and creating figure on my own is not its kinda a mess, then now 2022 I'm back and I want to bring back what I was started before thanks to this course proko.
I just want to say that I love your videos and that they're very helpful to me. :) I've been looking so long for an online course for studying human anatomy (my weakness in drawing, actually) and I found this. Thank you so much! :)
Don't waist your time and thousands of dollars on a 4 year degree in art like I did 20 years ago. You can learn everything you need online. This course looks amazing.

I've been struggling a lot with just learning anatomy, and I don't want to pay100's-1000's of dollars just to learn this.
