My wife and I had this happen about 14 years ago. A woman in her late sixties came up to our gate and asked to look around. This was her grandmother's house in the 1930s-40s. Second owners I believe. She shared stories and later sent us pictures of way back when. They're in our curio in our living room along with our own family's memorabilia.
This song always gets me. I am lucky enough to live in the house that built me. I bought it from my father 20+ years ago after my mother passed. My parents were the original owners of the house so no one will ever come to the door asking to look around because they once lived there. We never moved when I was a child so this was the only house I've known.
Watch her ‘Tin Man’ performance live at the ACM awards. It is stunning! Just her and guitar. My paternal gfather worked at Y12/the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge TN. My gparents & Dad lived in one of the many govt built homes & it’s where I grew up visiting my gparents. Years back we drove my son by when we in the area & he was about 10yo to show him the little 2BR 1BA hm. We sat outside for a few mins as I told him a cpl of stories about Papa growing up in the house, etc. A gentleman came out of the house (can’t blame him😂) and I explained why we’d stopped. Turned out he was the gentleman my father had sold the home to after my gparents both passed. He invited us in! When I turned the corner I saw the very same little kitchenette dining table my gmother would sit me at when she’d cook etc. I got so emotional the man offered us the table. We couldn’t just take it, but we asked if he’d be willing to sell it to us.He was💖 It’s been in my home since, but soon will be going to my son’s very first house purchase. Priceless.
I’ve actually done that. A 20 something young man came and knocked on the door and asked if he could take a look around. Mom and I invited him in. Sweet guy.
I have one of those houses. My grandparents bought it in 1962, the year my mom was born and Grandma lived there until she passed when i was 13. My family then lived there until I was 19, in 2008. My dad completely remodeled and added 2 stories to it. It is gorgeous and I drive by it every time I'm in the area and reminisce.
I haven't gone in the house but I've driven by the house I grew up in and there's a tree that my sister got in kindergarten. It started off tiny and its really big now and nice to see its still there
i got to look around my old childhood home a few years ago after being gone for 15 years. they completely remodeled and added on to it so it looked so different, but i still recognized parts of it
So many great Miranda songs love to see you do. Vice, Kerosene, White Liar, Mama's Broken Heart, lil red Wagon, she is my favorite so I could go on and on and on and on some more
My childhood home was my grandparents, lived there from 6 month to 25. It sold soon after I left. New owners have done so many renovations its not the same anymore.
Miranda Lambert's family lost their house when she was a kid. When they got back on their feet her father build a new house. She remembers being poor. When she sings the song concert half the time she ends up crying during the song, so it hits her somewhere.
This song gets me every time! I had a rough childhood but when my step dad came into the picture...which to me is just dad, he did everything he could to give my mom and us everything we never had. So this song makes me think of the first house we lived in.. from 11 until 18 that was home and this song makes me think of all that! We lost him in November and I wish I could have shown him through my eyes who he was to me.
I lived in my childhood home for 15 years- from the age of 2-17. I would honestly love more than anything to buy it. I don’t actually want to live in that state or neighborhood now, but I want that house.
Yes. My husband bought the property (11 acres) I grew up on and built my son and I a wonderful little house. It was my family’s land before I was born and my grandparents lived here as well. We will never sell it. When we built our house I checked my son out of school so he could put his hand prints on the front porch because of this song!!
Hell no I wouldn't let someone in if they said they used to live here.....because I would know they were lying! My grandparents built the house that I own and live in since they both died. My family is the ONLY ones that have ever live in it. Lol
My parents still live in the same house that I grew up in from around 8 onward Same house my dad grew up in And my grandma grew up in And my great grandma Built in 1899. It’s our original homestead house. For that part of the family. It needs quite a bit of work But it’ll always be home
I have a house like that, but I wouldn’t want to go back, rather remember it the way it was. Don’t want to see any changes that have been made over the years, I remember plenty well enough to just keep the fond memories upstairs. Good song though.
I don’t have a home to go back to. My mother and step father never stayed put . I never made friends in school. This song makes me sad. I love Miranda. 😢
I love Miranda.. Another vice, Tin Man, Gun powder and lead,She's just amazing all the around! She's in Pistol Annie's also❤❤ Check out hell on heels.💪❤❤❤😎😎😎
I did go back. It was awesome. The current owners graduated a couple years behind me and had totally remodeled it. It was beautiful. It was the only house I ever lived in until I left home. They even took pictures for me to keep.
Well if she's beautiful then why was you agreeing with Blake and Gwen then how do you not know Blake Shelton could cheat on her first and everybody wants to accuse Miranda Lambert for everything 🤔🙄😡🤬😠

To answer your question: Yes, I would let someone come in and see the house that they grew up in. I would be excited to be a part of that.

This just gave me chills!!
Yes that was so beautiful. Not a sound from anyone in the audience
He don't need to listen to Miranda Lambert so he can make fun of her because of Blake and Gwen🤔🙄😡🤬😠
I’ve actually done that. A 20 something young man came and knocked on the door and asked if he could take a look around. Mom and I invited him in. Sweet guy.
Miranda is one helluva song writer and singer and also teller of stories.

I grew up in a house for the first 11 years of my life I went back and got to walk around once it was hard so hard but I needed it
This song is about my grandparents house. I have wanted to go back for decades now because I had so many wonderful memories there.
I haven't gone in the house but I've driven by the house I grew up in and there's a tree that my sister got in kindergarten. It started off tiny and its really big now and nice to see its still there

This one gets me every time.

That house was the same house from The Green Mile. It is here by me in Belfast, Tennessee.

One of her best!
When you said you didn't have a particular house like that, that you grew up in, sent a wave of sadness to me for some reason LOL.

Another song of hers I love is Automatic!

My favorite dog is also buried in that yard. And my handprints are in the cement by the shed. I relate a lot to this song.

When I was a teenager I got to visit my childhood home. The people let me in to look around. I would like to go back again now that I’m almost 50.
Hell no I wouldn't let someone in if they said they used to live here.....because I would know they were lying! My grandparents built the house that I own and live in since they both died. My family is the ONLY ones that have ever live in it. Lol
Honestly , yes I have done this multiple times to a few places I lived
I love her video of “Mama’s Broken Heart” it’s a lot of fun. This is written by her about her life. 👵🏼☮️❤️🙏🏼
My parents still live in the same house that I grew up in from around 8 onward
Same house my dad grew up in
And my grandma grew up in
And my great grandma
Built in 1899. It’s our original homestead house. For that part of the family.
It needs quite a bit of work
But it’ll always be home

Good song though.
I went back and was let in. But that was the 70s in Nashville.
It was much smaller than in my memories.
Have thought for years about visiting the house I grew up in. From 1 yr to 18 years. Would love to find myself....
I don’t have a home to go back to. My mother and step father never stayed put . I never made friends in school. This song makes me sad. I love Miranda. 😢
Hurricane Katrina took away my childhood home (both of them) :(
The pictures and movies in the video are actually of Miranda and her family when she was growing up.
yes I would
I bought the house I grew up in and its financially killing me lmfao
I love Miranda.. Another vice, Tin Man, Gun powder and lead,She's just amazing all the around! She's in Pistol Annie's also❤❤ Check out hell on heels.💪❤❤❤😎😎😎
This world sucks right now… Her song “Automatic” should be played every day!
She is tha best
I build houses. Don't test me.
I did go back. It was awesome. The current owners graduated a couple years behind me and had totally remodeled it. It was beautiful. It was the only house I ever lived in until I left home. They even took pictures for me to keep.
The 'Dad' in the home movies in the video is actually her real Dad, Rick.
I’d be leery at first, but if said person hot out of a million tour bus…. Lol
Tin man is a very cleverly written song
I absolutely would let them in.
What's more I don't know anybody that wouldn't let them in.
It's just a different culture where I live.
Yes if it was Miranda Lambert
WHITE LIAR is the best video, all time.
Demi Moore and Selena Gomez had no rights still in Miranda Lambert's song I could have asked her to sing it🤔🙄😡🤬😠
Well if she's beautiful then why was you agreeing with Blake and Gwen then how do you not know Blake Shelton could cheat on her first and everybody wants to accuse Miranda Lambert for everything 🤔🙄😡🤬😠
