Fantasmic video as always - why have they removed the soft close from the new one - I like my soft close rear door!! 🙂100% going to install this as it would be super useful when camping!
No idea why they stopped the soft close - we are working on a retrofit kit.

Actually I'm looking for a solution to have a 12V supply in the loadspace (or in the rear door) to connect my 1000W 12V to 230V voltage inverter ... As you can imagine, currently you have to attach it directly to the battery boost point terminals under the bonnet: not ideal especially if you would like to drive at the same time ... :))
I remember you could buy your Defender with an built-in 230V socket in the loadspace though! Any chance to upgrade for those, like myself, who haven't ordered that accessory at the beginning ?

Pretty good place to put it actually, cos then you can put your phone or whatever is charging, in that handle. Nice one!
Yes the rear door is a handy place - sit on the boot floor and then you have all you need in easy access on the rear door.
Was looking at adding the Garmin mini2 to the rear.. I have your Garmin overhead kit for the front with the parking mode cable and it works great! Looks like if I use this for the rear, I'll be missing the ACC connection for the parking mode cable, though. Is there an ACC connection that can be tapped into back there, or could you make a loom using "5 of the 6" instead of "4 of the 6" that you mentioned at 3:30 in the video?
I dont think there is an ACC feed
You could use this board we designed - this converts a Battery into an ACC

As a flash goat about tho fit one of these wiring link kits for 12v,, I was wondering if you had an update? I bought the old kit so am somewhat bemused........😅
I don’t think this kit changed from memory… but I am on holiday this week so may be wrong

@1:37 That soft close mechanism was completely missing from my brand new 2021 Disco Sport. Had to take it back to JLR PDI at Heathrow. :-(
They are missing from all new 2022 Defenders ! not sure what parts they are short of but I have 500+ spare soft close motors !

Did you say the compressor for the air suspension is in the back luggage compartment?
Yes and no - the SUSPENSION air compressor is in the boot floor - sort of what you would call the spare wheel well - but the air compressor for the tyres is on the L side of the boot load space.
Is your radio mic working? The last vid also didn’t sound like it was

Yes not sure how many people want the extra power in the back door - but could be handy for some.... how about recording next time I am at the main dealers.... what could possibly happen at the dealers if you left a dashcam recording ? !!
